information certainly can be added during a mutation...

chromosomes may be added (such as in the case of down syndrome)
dna sequences may be added (over-replicate) or may be missing (dna insertion and deletion)
dna sequences can arrange differently than they normally do (expression)
or there may be simple errors at single/multiple points of the sequence (point/frame shift)

any of these occurring in an organism can make drastic changes (but not necessarily so). some of these changes may be beneficial, some detrimental, some neutral. how these changes affect the organisms ability to survive and reproduce determines whether the mutation will be passed on.

this is how the process begins. a simple mutation. the mutation gets passed down to subsequent generations. in one of these subsequent generations, another organism or two has a mutation.....if that mutation allows it to eat and reproduce succesfully, then the process continues......this happening over and over again, for millions of years, will give you an extremely diverse gene pool (one in which the organisms look, act, and function differently, though they are all made of the same fundamental building blocks).

this is the driving force behind evolution.

How does evolution adapt? Magic? Where is evolution? What is the source? If it is non-physical, how does it impact physical matter?

So, you say evolution is made up and is not fact, and then point out that you don't even understand what it is or how it works? Oooookay then.

Any scientist worth a can of beans will tell you, that yes, evolution is not fact, but theory.

I am asking these questions because no one can answer them, much less you.

scientific theory is not the same thing as a hypothesis.

evolutionary theory is like gravitational theory or cell theory or any other scientific theory; it is the testable conclusion reached based on empirical evidence and stands until disproven.

there is a mountain of empirical evidence that shows evolution to be true, including being directly observed in a lab environment. theres nothing philisophical about that. we know evolution is real the same way we know gravity, electromagnetism, or anything else is real....by testing, countertesting, and observation.

"Intelligent design" makes America an amusing country.
It is curious that some non-believers think that intelligent design is a greater threat to science than football, fashion, social presure, justin bieber, rock, drugs ... those things are worse than intelligent design, because they kill interest in science and other important things (like political issues that allow intelligent design). Intelligent design may be wrong, but at least not discourage science completely, as the above factors, which are not criticized by atheists for some curious reason. That is atheist hypocrisy. They only use science to defend their opinions instead of promoting science really.

More evidence? Japan younth is interested in technology, but not in science. However, in practice, Japaese are atheists.

ID has nothing to do with science. period.

i think lulzsec is playing with fire. thier antics were cute and funny at first, but i think they are paving the way for an internet crackdown...i think they will be propped up as examples of why the government should censor the internet.

as for how itll affect btc, who knows? on one hand, its decent publicity...on the other, it may encourage a crackdown on btc...

"Intelligent design" makes America an amusing country.

I especially love how a banana is intelligently designed for our hands, with the 5 ridges, easy color coding for ripeness (green -> yellow), and a pull-top for peeling. Yay god!

ugh. dont lump us all in with those idiots.
1447  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wednesday is RALLY day!!! on: July 21, 2011, 10:04:03 PM
no real gains made this week...time to sell off some positions if you can (to buy back in on the weekend slump)....my guess is that we will see low 12's (the failure to break back into 14's for any major amount of time has me worried) if not high 11's. definately feeling bearish in the short term.....

then again, this is just wild speculation, so who knows? thats half the fun  Grin

as for me, i went all in at 13.1 so im holding for now...i dont see a lot of money to be made from my current position (i didnt luck out enough to get free trades from mt gox).

I am starting to see something interesting in the daily model. It seems a bit counter-intuitive, but it looks like the longer that price is held below $14 the likelihood of an extended rally being sparked before the end of August increases.

I'm not worried.  I'll gladly push it back from 14 for a while if it helps to solidify the future rally.

i hope that analysis is right, id love to see a solidly backed rally...

Sure, a Bockman/Palin presidency sounds very responsible. Roll Eyes

i think i threw up in my mouth a little.  Smiley   seriously, those two would put the final nail in the american empires coffin.

as for the op, if  you actually think that bush inherited debt from clinton (under whom the country had a $230 billion surplus) as opposed to the debt being incured by major wars on multiple fronts, huge tax cuts to the upper 2%, corporate welfare, and the crumbling of the housing and financial markets,  then you are seriously beyond hope.

stop drinking the faux news kool-aid.....

you could always donate them to the bitcoin faucet if you didnt want to keep them.
1451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who the FUCK is making bitcoin viruses? on: July 19, 2011, 09:04:16 PM
The difference being when you've got trojans that specifically do nothing but setup botnets for the sole harvesting of bitcoins it's going to give bitcoin a really bad name with security companies really quickly. Unless the community is going to actively try and prevent this sorta shit happening bitcoin is going to get a really bad name with important places and people who we'd probably rather not piss off!

i still dont think its nearly as serious as the abundant amount of malware in the wild that steals credit card info and the like.

what, specifically,  can the "community" do? its up to the security professionals/av programmers/whitehats to find and fix exploits. all the end user can do is keep their computer locked down properly.
1452  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Tax the rich, eh? on: July 19, 2011, 08:45:42 PM
Um, military, police, fire, legal system, fda, transportation, keeping old people off the streets, and all that debt that people voted FOR before they decided, "Nuh-uh! Not MY debt, it's the governments!" Seriously, why is it that when people vote for politicians and decisions that, say, get us stuck in a decade-long war, it's all good, but as soon as those same people are asked to pay for the money borrowed to support that war, it's all, "don't look at me! It's not MY debt."

this.

running a government isnt cheap even under ideal conditions...add in wars on multiple fronts and a government that has a penchant for handing out monetary handjobs to coporations and the upper 2%, and you get massive debt.
1453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who the FUCK is making bitcoin viruses? on: July 19, 2011, 08:07:53 PM
unfortunately this isnt really a new issue. bitcoin malware has been in the wild for a while. in fact, im pretty sure one of the latest metasploit releases contained the wallet stealer in its program. anyone can go onto hack forums and buy silent miners and zombie computers for thier botnet.

as the end user, it is your responsibility to use good opsec/infosec. be sure to keep your computer locked down in the ways mentioned previously on this thread.  yes, it sucks, but its up to you (and only you) to keep your computer secure.

that said, malware can be a serious issue, but its not going to destroy bitcoin.  look at bittorrent...how many torrents contain malware of some sort?... and it hasnt fallen apart.  most computer users know the risks.
1454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much of your net worth stored in Bitcoins? on: July 18, 2011, 10:06:43 PM
very small percentage (waaaay less than i put into stocks and other investments). basically, money that wont be missed if bitcoin were to crash.

1455  Economy / Speculation / Re: Looks like the 13.5 bid wall is holding up. But for how long? on: July 17, 2011, 08:20:23 PM
sold off all positions on thurs....buying in low on the weekend...im half in right now @13....waiting for @12 to buy in the rest of the way (with a small hedge @10 just in case)

i love the weekend. Smiley

settle down there edward (or do you prefer ed?), take your trolling back to SA forums where people will appreciate it...or maybe just take some time to fix up that shit twitter feed of yours...  Roll Eyes

look, i'm sure life as a doughy-looking unpleasant man probably gets you down sometimes, but thats no reason to take it out on this forum.  Wink

You're right.  I'm not bright, and I'm a troll.

i think you said it best yourself.  Wink

if you think your going to get a serious response, you're even less bright than i originally expected.

however, here is your consolation prize....you've earned it.  Grin

*edit*

fuck man...looking back through your post history, you need a bigger award, lol.

seriously, i find it amazing that someone would dedicate soooo much time and energy to trolling people on something he cares nothing about.

your sole intent on this forum seems to be to tell everyone that bitcoins are a waste of time and money...its kind of sad.  seriously man, get a hobby, get laid, get a therapist, or do something...its not healthy to be that negative all the time...

to be perfectly blunt (judging by your posts on this forum), you seem like a very unpleasant person to be around... are you like this in your daily life? or is this overwhelming lack of social skills only displayed online?
