Perhaps he is right. In 90% of the cases, Islam was spread though the use of force, mostly in the form of conquests and genocides. There are hundreds of examples. The current day Pakistan, which is 97% Muslim now was a majority Hindu region just 5 centuries ago. Similarly, Indonesia (90% Muslim now) was mostly Hindu and Buddhist. Iran was Zoroastrian before the Islamic conquest. Afghanistan was Animist, Hindu and Buddhist.

LOL SO BIASED. And with random percentage stats to boot  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Christianity spread through the land with rainbows and flowers  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Stephen Goldstein: President Jeb planning more neocon wars

http://contextflorida.com/stephen-goldstein-president-jeb-planning-neocon-wars/

Are you up for more war – a really, really lot of it? More invasions of sovereign nations like Iraq? More “Mission Accomplished” banners? More Americans maimed and killed, for what, in places like Afghanistan?  More trillions spent to protect Halliburton’s bottom line?
It’s A-OK by Jeb Bush.

Long before his brother was conned into being a neocon by Dick Cheney, as early as June 1997, Jeb Bush signed “The Statement of Principles” of the Project for the New American Century, along with Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, “Scooter” Libby, Cheney of course, and 20 ignoble others, mostly chicken-hawks.
The goal of the Project was “to promote American global leadership” (aka world domination) through a Ronald Reagan-inspired military supremacy and manifest destiny on steroids spiked with “American exceptionalism.” It was our time to remake the planet in our image.
During the Bill Clinton administration, the Project began its call for toppling Saddam Hussein, citing the threat of his stockpile of weapons of mass destruction to U.S. national security. After 9/11, its pressure on George W. Bush, and the public, was relentless.
In other words, Jeb Bush is a member of the cabal directly responsible for the duplicity that got us into Iraq and produced the greatest military and diplomatic debacle in U.S. history, which has destabilized today’s Middle East and the rest of the world it planned to dominate.
You’d think Jeb would have learned from his brother’s catastrophe, at least enough to keep quiet about it. But Bushes never look back or accept responsibility for their mistakes. Self-doubt isn’t in their DNA. Quite the opposite.
Still pretending he’s undecided about running for president, Jeb recently outlined his “Doctrine” on foreign policy, a self-delusional repackaging of the failures of the Project for the New American Century and the Bush-Cheney Doctrine.
Wannabe president Jeb will fight our foes anywhere he finds them – and promises actively to go looking. (Soon enough, he’ll be saying, “If you’re not with us, you’re against us.”) Predictably, before his applauding Cuban-American crowd in Coral Gables, Florida, Jeb proposed strengthening the 50-year failed embargo against Cuba. Of course, he’s for increased military spending, because it helps expand free trade and protects corporate interests, which is why we police the world in the first place.
That ain’t doctrine. It’s just jive, designed to keep Dick Cheney’s heart transplant pumping. ... more

Kelly: "On the subject of Iraq, very controversial, knowing what we know now, would you have authorized the invasion?"

Bush: "I would have, and so would have Hillary Clinton, just to remind everybody, and so would almost everybody that was confronted with the intelligence they got."

I'm not trying to be a dick but do you really feel like honest people have their reputation ruined over negative feedback? Does it really hinder forum experience to have a red mark? The worst that will happen is that users will want to use escrow when dealing with you (which should happen anyway).

Yes. New users almost always use the default trust. Often they don't even bother clicking it to see why the rating was left or from whom, they just move on because there are so many scams they are hyper-paranoid and unwilling to take any risk. Furthermore new users are trying to seek to build a reputation, therefore they seek the highest rated users to trade with.

I have been entrusted with thousands of dollars of other people's money and met all of my agreements every time, but because of negative ratings on my account I still get newbs asking me to use escrow over $10 transactions now. It most definitely DOES effect trading, and every user demanding escrow is no small thing, it is a pain in the ass and takes up lots of time, creates additional legal liabilities, and in addition it is a risk to the seller trusting a 3rd party that was a completely unnecessary step previously.

Frankly if you don't trade here regularly, you wouldn't have the slightest clue about any of this. I have been trading here for over 3 years, have been trusted with thousands of dollars, met all of my agreements, and have received over 100 positive trust ratings, yet according to the default trust rating at level 2, I am +19/-1/+9. Does that sound like it has an effect to you? The difference is quite distinct when from a user on the default trust.

I don't deal with newbies often but even with my green trust and also thousands of $ in trades I often get requests to send first or use an escrow with people I haven't traded with before.

I know you feel passionately about the Trust system and its participants but are you looking at it completely objectively? I feel like a a certain situation or two involving a DefaultTrust dispute has left you jaded. If you really deal with a large volume of newbie traders daily, then I understand why it stresses you out. But if a newbie is asking you to escrow like once a week or month, is it a big stress?

I see you as 64: -1 / +28(28) - There is one negative (from a non-trade), yes, but there are also 20+ confirmed positives (from trades) that would signal to any logical person that this guy is most likely honest! I can see why newbies might get confused but most other non-newbies will have their own trust list as well and will still see you as reputable member of this community.

I would focus more on finding ways to help newbies understand the trust system/make their own trust list than trying to destroy the trust system and shaming anyone who uses or adheres to it.

The most surprising part of the operation is that they didn't kill the wife. They almost never want to deal with the baggage of a combatant prisoner.

Presumably, the "wife" was the global, undeclared plutocracy's "inside [wo]man."

Not sure if you're serious or just conspiracy happy  Grin

Should bear in mind these guys are special operations so they're very well trained assuming they've been trained by anyone halfway decent and the U.S government realises the reputation it has now for operations in the middle east so they're probably trying to get some good PR on the war.

By the way, I saw this news item on the BBC, it wasn't reported as delta commandos though they were simply called "Special ops.".

When Dubya was being sold to retarded voters the story was that it didn´t matter if he was dumb as a doorbell and crazy as a loon because he´d be bringing with him all those wonderful and experienced folks that had worked with his father. You remember, an all crazy cast of neocons. The following disasters are still history in the making. And I´m sure that this new Bush screwball will bring more of the same. The only question is will it be worse than the next Clinton nutcase.

It's ridiculous. He's receiving insane amount of cash funding from the same people that supported his father.

That's the problem with this two party system. I don't want to vote for either candidate. It's basically the lesser of two evils.

Yeah, yeah the war industry loves these nutballs obviously and funds their campaigns generously I´m sure. And fills their administrations with appropriate people to serve industry purposes after they´ve been elected. It´s gigantic business and businessmen typically try to create business opportunities. Dubya was a huge windfall for them and so they have very high hopes for this one.

The Senate Armed Services Committee just voted in a bill with overwhelming bipartisan support for $612 billion in Defense funding.  That money for defense goes straight into the pocket of contractors which use parts of that money to lobby all the fucking senators they want.

Quote
The US Government Accountability Office (GAO) was unable to provide an audit opinion on the 2010 financial statements of the US Government because of 'widespread material internal control weaknesses, significant uncertainties, and other limitations'. The GAO cited as the principal obstacle to its provision of an audit opinion 'serious financial management problems at the Department of Defense that made its financial statements unauditable'.

Quote
Again in 2011, the GAO could not "render an opinion on the 2011 consolidated financial statements of the federal government", with a major obstacle again being "serious financial management problems at the Department of Defense (DOD) that made its financial statements unauditable".

They blow this insane amount of money on weapons which isn't even accounted for but they squabble over a few million dollars for important shit like education. Makes me sick.

What?
You expect me to explain to you why my questions should be respected? They're questions, they want answers, fuck respect.
And you're also telling me I do not respect those words myself? WTF does that even mean?

It means, if you respected your own words, you would stand behind them.

The fact you created a throw away account instead of posting on your main account means you don't stand behind your words.   Wink

Or it could just mean that there are too many mongoloids like you running around negative rating people because they don't agree with statements made in threads, and people do not want to risk years of hard work building up their reputation to point out the systematic abusive behavior exhibited from those occupying the default trust.

I'm not trying to be a dick but do you really feel like honest people have their reputation ruined over negative feedback? Does it really hinder forum experience to have a red mark? The worst that will happen is that users will want to use escrow when dealing with you (which should happen anyway).

I have 3 BTC on the Clippers. They are the better team with more playoff experience and better coach. I wouldn't be surprised if LA won by double digits.

Wow, rich guy, bet a lot on Clippers, this is the final game and in Houston rocket's home, I think this time HR won't lose the game, gogogo  Houston Rockets!!!!!!!!!!

I have loved HR for many years, because of Yaoming and Tmac, especially Tmac, he is my super idol  Grin I wish he could lead HR but he is retired now. GL rockets!!!

I actually love the Rockets too. Hakeem Olajuwon is my favorite all-time player and he mentors Dwight Howard. I can't let those biases affect me when gambling though  Tongue

I like the Rockets more but Clippers are the better team and will win  Grin

Quickseller posted here but deleted his post quickly... Quite suspicious.

(any mod can verify what I'm saying by retreating the post)

In this post, Quickseller claimed that he thought they were the same user because they had a similar desktop configuration.

He said the unread emails were the same and the icons were in the same array.

Look at the image more than 30 seconds and you'll see that non of his assumptions are true. Seriously Quickseller, I'd expect something better for a negative trust rating. You're just speculating that they're the same person because of a similar screenshot. If that makes you suspicious to personally believe that they're the same person leave a neutral comment, still does the same job. No need to leave negative feedback with such dubious evidence (which you probably discovered after posting the rating since you didn't add any reference).

Check my post above. Coincidence? LOL... not sure what image you were looking at.

BitcoinDistributor = KingofSports. I was one of the few who seen posts that were made it quickly deleted and reposted on his other accounts. Why didn't I leave negative feedback? Looked like he abadoned those accounts plus I didn't want to deal with the massive trolling, harassment and death threats like what were made towards Vod  Undecided

I have no reason to lie here either. Other members should be warned though, especially after his alt AlabamaFan1 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=162265) and the claimed hack incident.

Probably too late to the party, but I also saw the post that was deleted by BitcoinDistributor. They are definitely the same person. I'm pretty sure it was something about March Madness brackets

My previous complaints in this topic are now resolved.

Wow, TBZ. If that doesn't highlight the good-old-boy network nature of the DefaultTrust, I don't know what does.

If DefaultTrust wasn't such an elitist, ivory tower of the chosen few, this wouldn't even be a topic. But the fact that that it is a topic and the fact that it comes up so frequently just highlights how bad it really is.

The only people arguing for DefaultTrust are those in it. Take a step back and think about that for a moment.

I'm not in DefaultTrust, and I don't mind its existence. If you have a better idea (besides scrapping it altogether), I'm sure the forum is all ears.

As it stands the trust system is only an initial indicator of a poster's trustworthiness. It doesn't give your comments any added value or influences. You don't get free BTC every month for having green trust or being on DefaultTrust. It's only here to serve as some guidance when going into the trading, buying/selling goods, or loaning world.

Yes, people leave negative trust for petty reasons that aren't always warranted but no system is 100% perfect. If there is abuse of the system by a DefaultTrust member, it's almost always handled adequately from what I've seen.

I would rather a few members be pissy about their red trust (most likely warranted) than having newbies be scammed and turned off of Bitcoin.

There are fates worse than death.

Indeed. Do some reading into what life is like at Florence ADX. 23 hours a day in this

1 hour in a sunken exercise pit. Human contact is kept to the absolute minimum.

If I had to choose 50-60 years of that compared to a bullet in the back of the head I'd pay for the bullet myself.

Well that caused me to go on a Wikipedia adventure. Kind of cool to see the types of inmates that are housed there. The warden describes it as "a cleaner version of hell"

Not very surprised with the conviction regarding Tsarnaev. The way he was charged - they were looking for the death sentence. I will be surprised if all the appeals fail and he is actually executed though.

878  Economy / Gambling / Re: Champions League Final Predictions Barca Vs Juventus on: May 16, 2015, 08:07:52 PM
Barcelona is unstoppable with its attacking trio. Either one of the forwards (Messi, Neymar, Suarez) can create for themselves and score at will. Give Messi one step to dribble and he will score. Juventus is a great team no doubt but I just can't see them breaking down this Barcelona team defensively and hold them off from scoring at the same time.

I would predict 3-1 Barca win
