1621  Economy / Gambling / Re: DirectBet – LIVE Sportsbook & Racebook. Rated # 1 by Bitcointalk Members ! on: January 07, 2015, 03:20:09 AM
Yea sometimes the odds on some matches are a bit skewed.

No Canucks/Islanders match to livebet on tonight? Seems to be the only NHL match missing
1622  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to Buy Bitcoin with CASH/CREDIT CARD on: January 07, 2015, 03:03:59 AM
Circle, Coinbase if you are in the US

localbitcoins is another option

coin.mx is a site that lets you use credit card. Limits at a few hundred but has generally been reliable.

1623  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are there buyers for bitcointalk accounts? on: January 07, 2015, 03:02:22 AM
These days with fewer campaigns and bitcoin prices(so campaign payout lower in USD) the demand is lower.
Might change in the future, since Stunna promised re open PD

I have been hearing about PD's reopening as well. But is it really going to happen like before?

It will never be like before. With the previous campaign, Stunna was paying out literally 1-2 BTC to some members which lead to rampant spam.

He has been talking about opening a new campaign at a fixed rate but probably won't be for awhile, since he's using other methods to attract new users to PD.
1624  Other / MultiBit / Re: coins not showing in wallet but on blockchain? on: January 07, 2015, 02:58:00 AM
Try the option "Reset blockchain and transactions". This usually fixes Multibit not picking up transactions.

Was wondering why the coins weren't showing after 13 confirmations but this fixed the issue. Thank you  Cheesy
1625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are cryptocurrencies the future? on: January 07, 2015, 02:57:09 AM
Paper cash is going to extinct in 5~10 years , all fiat currencies will eventually be virtual .
Cryptocurrencies like bitcoin are not backed by Gov & central banks , they are backed by math & computers which are more reliable than the former .
The bitcoin price has fall a lot recently , but the rules still the same , people'll finally figure out which is their favorite .

I think 5-10 years is a bit short to call cash extinct but the convenience and ease of cryptocurrencies is hard to deny. Some of the things really holding BTC back are the scams, hacks, and uncertainty. But like every new technology, these kinks will be ironed out before it is widely accepted
1626  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Best way into/out of Bitcoin, any unusual ways on: January 07, 2015, 02:51:02 AM
The best way for me personally has been both Circle and Coinbase. If you attach a bank account and credit card, you can buy a good amount of BTC instantly.

Very convenient imo
1627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Ponzi scheme or not on: January 06, 2015, 08:50:21 PM
I don't understand how it could be a ponzi?  From what I understand about Ponzi's isn't it when you get people to invest, and pay people back with the invested money from other people?

On top of that, I don't understand why people like to do Ponzi's, they don't gain anything from them?  Technically speaking if they give back all of the money they invested to the early people, they don't gain anything from it.  Most of the time I realize they probably steal money from people but an honest ponzi the owner wouldn't make a dime.

That's the truth but greed and a quick buck/BTC is worth the crazy risk.

That greed is seen by the people who want to use Bitcoin to get rich quick but it's definitely not a ponzi scheme

1630  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Cheap: NBA League Pass, HBO Go, Xfinity, Verizon, Dish, DirecTV,sports, music, etc on: January 06, 2015, 07:45:31 PM
Received NBA League pass and Xfinity. No problems setting them up to my Xbox.

Dabangg gave detailed information about what each program provided and how to set up and activate each account.

Includes a 6 month warranty.

So far I'm satisfied - Thanks!
1631  Economy / Gambling / Re: Does anyone wants to become gambling trader? on: January 06, 2015, 06:33:38 PM
Your fees would have to be high from the conversion to make any money. You would also need a lot of customers/bettors.

Don't really see how this is feasible. Why would anyone want you to convert their BTC to fiat to gamble? Why not gamble with BTC? Cashing out with fiat doesn't seem like a cheap or easy option either.

Transfers can be easily reversed and you are a brand new member.

Use caution if dealing with this user

1635  Economy / Economics / Re: Re: arbitrage trading on: January 06, 2015, 07:46:18 AM
He has been doing this to many Bitcoin sites. The worst thing to do is pay him off like Nitrogensports.eu did (They even offered him a job - lol)
1636  Other / Meta / Re: Replacing DefaultTrust on: January 06, 2015, 07:40:00 AM
The only way to gain trust points is by adding 10 people to your trust list?

What if one of those people trusts someone that you don't?

Then you have to add the person you don't trust with a ~ in front of their name.

Can't believe I never knew this. Thanks!

Don't really see how the new system would be an advantage over the old one. Prone to the same abuses.

The only change would be forcing people to add users to their trust? Most will probably add Theymos, Badbear etc and they rarely leave negative trust as it is. Not really combating scammers.

1639  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitstamp closed for? on: January 05, 2015, 08:32:04 PM
I got the email too. It's most likely a temporary issue. I would not be overly concerned if you have funds stored there.
1640  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SHDVB Impersonator - i dont know where to post this. on: January 05, 2015, 08:30:28 PM
Hopefully people will not be tricked by this impostor. Would help if someone on DefaultTrust could neg him so that he would appear red and more obvious to anyone he messages.
