It would be better to create an honest list since by definition all hyip/ponzis are scams
1583  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Cop shoots dead a tased, restrained, 100lb teen: "we don't have time for this" on: January 08, 2015, 08:39:58 PM
HA - well said.

having money isn't enough to have freedom though, you need control and influence too.

the only ones who are truly free in this country is the bankers who control the federal reserve.

Those bankers are untouchable. Lose billions and they get even more money cause they are "too big too fail" - Whatever that means.

But even the ultra-rich like Bill Gates can have laws literally changed for their own convenience

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_959#.22Gates_959.22
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Show_and_Display

The Porsche 959 was not street legal in the US but Gates along with his army of lawyers was able to change this law single-handedly so he would be able to drive it

I guess you could say Gates has a bit of control and influence though  Cheesy

i seriously hope none of you are considering spending 1btc to open a faucet. this is not worth your money

Agreed. Pretty sure there are people in the Services section offering to create a faucet for you at 0.1 BTC or less

If it is the U.S. you hate, why? Because of freedom?
do you honestly believe freedom still exists in the US?

i don't.

it's more like the illusion of freedom.

It does if you're white and have money   Wink
1587  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Child kidnapping by the Norwegian State on: January 08, 2015, 08:17:08 PM
A case from May last year, when 3 Russian girls (aged 13, 5 and 3) were taken right from their home and their parents, without even checking the allegations. I didn't know about that one either!

http://www.barnefjern.org/norways-removal-of-children-from-russian-mother-illegal-astakhov/

Quote
The couple was stripped of their parental rights after one of the daughters` friends had said that the girls were physically abused at home. Social workers arrived at the family’s place and took the children away without even making an attempt to collect more evidence on the allegations. The girls were temporarily placed in an adoptive family, though the younger sisters do not speak Norwegian.

...

In violation of the presumption of innocence principle, Tatiana and her husband were told to collect enough evidence by May 28 to prove that they were not physically abusing their children. Russia’s Children’s Rights Ombudsman Pavel Astakhov: “The parents were told that they would no longer see their children because of physical abuse allegations. We`ve been collecting evidence to prove that these allegations are ungrounded and that the children were not abused.”

Wow what kind of system is this? Guilty until proven innocent? That is some scary shit for parents

I feel like here in the US the kid would have to have noticeable bruises or some kind of trauma for child protective services to get involved.
Unfortunately US CPS is not much better. A lot of people don't realize that CPS is part of a "family court" which falls completely outside of the regular judicial system. This is a vestigial remainder of former eugenics courts from the past often used for forced sterilizations of minorities and "defectives". CPS is almost completely outside of the law, even in the US.

I'm not really sure of the specifics after CPS gets involved but doesn't it take a serious situation to actually get CPS involved to have them take the child away?

In Norway it seems like I could simply make an anonymous report, and they would come take the child away without any other questions.

Guns don't kill people. Guns help protect you from other people with smaller guns Cheesy

But seriously, open carry is okay to an extent. I don't need to see people carrying high powered rifles down the street like there's a war going on in our backyard.

Leviticus 20:13
"If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them."
Okay, it is in their holy book.

But no judeo Christian sect advocates killing gays.
I agree. Almost no Christians support the westboro church either. But there are extremist Christians just as there are extremist Muslims. I have never met a Muslim who supports Al Qaeda or Dasch.  In the mid-east they are considered dangerous apostates and people are openly hostile to them.
I think some people are just full of hate. They may be from any religion or no religion. A person like that is going to look for anyone or anything that can be seen to back their views.

Sorry, I'm still not buying into your moral equivalency.  Your argument is "It's the individual, not the religion."

No Christian sect advocates killing gays.

Many Muslim sects advocate killing gays.

Few Muslim sects support Al Queda.

MANY Muslim sects support killing all the Jews, Israelis, etc.

Etc.

This is just plain untrue. Religion is supposed to be a guide for individuals. None are inherently violent or evil but all are open to interpretation.

Any individual from any religion can abuse the text to fit their own agenda. This is why religion has the potential to be so dangerous.
1590  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Netflix on: January 08, 2015, 07:57:40 PM
I need to find a netflix account I can use for today
You could buy one for like 20 cents on the digital goods section.

Netflix is probably one of the easiest accounts to get.

They also offer 30 day free trials pretty liberally if you just need an account for today.

Hope this isn't a start of a paid picks movement. Plus as mentioned above, there are already multiple people offering free picks on this board.
1592  Other / Meta / Re: How long does it take to become a Legendary Member? on: January 08, 2015, 07:54:05 PM
Barely approaching the hero member mark here and its felt like forever Grin

I guess it would seem that way if you are posting to gain levels.

When I joined, the "Legendary" rank didn't exist.  I didn't keep track of my level - I just posted because I was interested and enjoyed the conversation.

I guess I'm posting that if you don't watch the clock, the school day will go by faster.  Smiley

Didn't mean it that way. Otherwise I would make 14 posts and disappear for two weeks  Grin

Meant to the say the Bitcoin journey has been so crazy since I started that it feels like forever ago.

But I definitely agree that not watching the clock/activity, will make it go by faster  Wink

1597  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Any Recommended BTC Sales Services? on: January 08, 2015, 12:37:46 AM
Have you tried coin.mx?

Pretty sure they allow use of credit cards up to a certain limit.

Quite high fees tho.

Hard to find a place that doesn't charge high fees for credit card use. The rate of chargebacks and abuse is high so they have to compensate.

Why would you sell this method if it is profitable?

Are you willing to give vouch copies so that people can confirm what you are saying?

Because THIS is what makes him money.

This would make him money. True. But unlikely for anyone to purchase without anyone to vouch. This community has seen too many of these types of scams/promises.
