61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: August 01, 2017, 09:13:43 AM
Hey guys, if this is not the proper forum, please direct me to the proper one.

New to Stratis, bought in about 78 Stratis, and I have sent it from Poloniex to my Electrum Stratis wallet. It has been about 10 hours and it still says "Not Verified".

Did I do something wrong?

I sent the funds directly to my receive address within the wallet.

Thanks and sorry for noob questions.

Daniel
Are you new to Poloniex? If so make sure you confirm the withdrawal from the email they sent you  (even if you have 2FA set up).

62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins that are better than Bitcoincash as a currency on: August 01, 2017, 03:54:32 AM
Which coins could be or are better than Bitcoincash as a currency?

There are plenty of other that were designed to be fast and with scaling built in or easily integrated.

I'm thinking Dash, Digibyte...but there must be others. Are any of the m objectively better?
Bitcoin original. There are no differences the bitcoin cash with another altcoin. Don't you understand it?  Roll Eyes
Yes but the fees make it a poor alternative at present

Is the team competent to run this project?

Did you check the team on the website ?
Is the team experienced in cryptography?  I cannot see what qualifications anyone on the team has.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why will Bitcoincash be better than other alt coins? on: August 01, 2017, 01:49:11 AM
So, BitcoinCash will be another alt coin (I guess). Will it be better than the other alt coins that are designed to be used like cash?

I guess if it attracts a lot of hashing power that will make it better, but will it be better otherwise?

66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Warning] Polybius & EmerCoin - Scam on: August 01, 2017, 12:12:29 AM
I think it's pretty clear now it is a scam. Hope we could save some money from good guys.  Cool

I still can't see where is the SCAM... The licenses for the Polybius Bank can't be on hand of the Founders before several month, perhaps years... Until then, I think there is no increased value for the Tokens.

Also, the Tokens would never be intended to be coins, any form of digital currency. Only representation of more or less 20% of profits of a bank that does not yet exist.

But I must be very dumb.

There is actually no evidence of a scam. That doesn't mean it is not a scam, it just means people calling it a scam don't understand how to use evidence to form a conclusion.
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: July 30, 2017, 11:03:52 PM
A reminder to everyone.

If the Bitcoin hardfork goes ahead then Bitcoin should fall in price by around 20% (if BCC is worth $400).

What this mean is that Stratis should be 20% higher on Poloniex and Bittrex. Because each Bitcoin should be worth less.

So don't leave any sell orders in too cheap!!!!!!!!

Because people selling Stratis now will get bitcoin, and this bitcoin will turn into BTC and BCC.

So if you sell at the same price then the person who sold Stratis before the fork will end up with free BCC.

Don't leave sell orders in after when it forks  Smiley
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who runs Tether? on: July 28, 2017, 02:01:47 AM
If you think that's a red flag then back your bags and run for the hills.  There are many backroom deals and partnerships that the public doesn't know about so if that were true, I wouldn't be surprised.   Sad

I'm not even sure I understand it, but I'm now guessing that.

1) Tether is a blockchain (?)
2) Someone must be securing it....but how?
3) Any exchange that uses Tether is backing it on that exchange??

69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who runs Tether? on: July 28, 2017, 01:52:19 AM
I am not sure if this is correct but I reckon Bitfinex is the backer of Tether. If you have tether-fiat then Bitfinex the exchange has the responsibility to convert them to real fiat if you choose to. Whether they really hold all the fiat to support all tether-fiat is wholly another topic.

So do you likewise think Poloniex is the backer of Tether traded on Poloniex?

I don't use Bitfinex much. Is their USD/BTC market done via the Tether blockchain too?
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Who runs Tether? on: July 28, 2017, 12:28:13 AM
Tether is listed on Poloniex, so I presume Poloniex would have done some due diligence, but when i look at the Tether website, there is no information about who runs it or where they bank.

Who are they?

https://wallet.tether.to/transparency

They claim to be transparent but there is no transparency at all. None
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: July 22, 2017, 03:36:27 AM
I'm not going to argue that Stratis is better or worse than other platforms, but I think this particular kind of announcement is at present unlikely to happen with other platforms. It's pretty clearly only happening because of Chris's idea to use C#.

It shows the tremendous leverage that is possible by choosing to use C#
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What wallet to use in case bitcoin forks? on: July 13, 2017, 10:43:27 PM
Which wallet should I use to store my bitcoin in order that if the fork happens I will get both coins?
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Looking for some advice on setting up a local not for profit blockchain on: July 13, 2017, 10:40:54 PM
I'm wanting to get some help and ideas from people here on an idea I have. I want to set up a localised blockchain that people in my community can use. I'm thinking I will lean on the tremendous amount of open source work done by altcoins. I'll probably look to fork or copy one.

I want.

1. Something flexible.
2.Something where people will be able to communicate with each other with a central server.
3.Something that wont be a drag on peoples computers.

I'd love to hear ideas.

Does anyone have a clue where the bottom is? I want to buy more STRAT but not sure if I should wait the inevitable price crash before August first or keep buying like I am doing on the way down? I want to get to at least 500 STRATIS before it goes up again and hold for a very long time. Bitcoin is also going down now steadily so the blood bath is far from over yet.
When it looks the worst its the best. Wink
But it is back to the level before it really got pumped.

Remember what people were saying when it went to $1B market cap?  they were saying "next stop $2B"
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Warning] Polybius & EmerCoin - Scam on: July 04, 2017, 10:57:37 PM
I read some article regaeding on the CEO of the polybius is an owner of a ponzi scheme site that turn into scam in the past.  Is this legit? It's alarming because polybius already raised 30+ million usd on their ICO.

Is it legit?
Hard to say as you haven't posted a link to the article. Huh
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Warning] Polybius & EmerCoin - Scam on: July 04, 2017, 10:53:01 PM

2) 06.30 - They don't hold a banking license.

That is what Polybius has said all along. They said they will attempt to get one.

It is slightly deceptive of you to say "They don't hold a banking license." licence because you infer that they claimed they did.

I think the project is wildly ambitious, and should be viewed as such...but who knows?

@blurryeyed (IconFirm)

The team has rarely used the forums for communication over the 3+ year history of Emercoin. Why don't you join the slack as I suggested. Or email us directly. Don't use the "it's not in public" excuse either because of course you would post any reply you got here if it fit your agenda.
Can i have an invite to slack?

It doesn't matter how good the product is, if the price goes up too quickly it must come down. It's normal.
