Are there any statistics on altcoins?
e.g.
Growth of new alt coin owners or users?
Alt coin market cap as a percentage of Bitcoin cap?
It seems to me that interest is growing in altcoins, and it would be interesting to see some stats

Yes it shows that almost all of the value total of all cryptocurrencies that bitcoin has almost all of it. It doesn't show a big change that the value is shifting to an altcoin. If the trend continues then eventually altcoins (as an index) will overtake BTC . But I doubt the change will continue at its present trajectory. It will probably gain or lose momentum at some point |

I use https://coinmarketcap.com for look statistic of bitcoin and another cryptos coins it is worth, you should use it and share your experience with us. Thank you. I do look at that site but had not looked at all the stats there. I notice they do have a chart showing Bitcoin Percentage of Total Market Capitalization. Bitcoin is in a downtrend as a percentage. But I guess that is not totally surprising as new and better altcoins are being added over time, and some of the larger (by market cap) altcoins are quite new. https://coinmarketcap.com/charts/ (scroll down to chart 3) That confirms my suspicion, but I'm more interested in the number of people who hold or use or know of bitcoin. I guess one can get some ideas by looking at the number of addresses. Is that growth documented anywhere? I tried to withdraw some Decred for Yobit but was unable to.

Someone sayed earlier, in this thread, that there`s no working withdraw for Decred in Yobit. Buy from Bittrex or Poloniex instead, these are good exchanges. Are the developers working with Yobit to address this? Added in edit: Here is the reply I got from Yobit Dear User!

Steem is the first crypto where i can go online and see something happening. I can see the "blog" or whetever it is with activity related to the coin

I was looking at how well Steem was doing and thinking that there could be other coins with similar setups that may potentially also do well.
I suspect we will see some kind of "copycat" coins soon, and some of them may possibly be very good.

Back in 2013 Polniex lost some BTC to a "hacker". I lost a small amount. Busoni (the owner) paid all the coins back quite quickly as he earned them from operating the exchange. That is a fact. |

What is in your opinion the best altcoin to invest in for 2016 and why. Pls add why folks.  I'm still in Primecoin XPM, CryptoBullion CBX, and Horizon HZ for longterm. Those have solid reputation and a good base for growth. *** I do not recommend to invest in any mentioned coins without proper research, how it was launched, how it developed, community involvement, stamina, price history and volume, etc. So do your homework cause you're the only one responsible for your funds. Why are the coins you mention good or better than others? |
