121  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Another 890FXA-GD70 problem? on: September 13, 2011, 10:33:09 PM
I just returned one 890 FXA GD70  cause it wouldn't even start (just a click from the power supply and thats it).  I got a new one and had it all set up and the fan at least starts and there are a couple lights but thats it.  No video, no Bios, not even a debug code.

I am using an AMD Sempron 145 processor... ocz 1000 w power supply one little stick of memory.  When I remove the memory same thing happens. If i remove the chip at least the debug code comes on.  Not sure whats going on.

Anyone else had this problem.  I'd hate to have to return Another one.

123  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Smoky Mountain mining now offering daily dividends to GLBSE investors. on: September 13, 2011, 05:55:24 AM
Hey there.  Right now I am on Deepbit, I know they take a fee, but I've just grown used to it.  I plan on changing to a place with less fees soon.

Only 447 shares left of the IPO.  I had not idea they would sell out this fast.  There will be 9300 shares floating around after the IPO is done.  I put 500 shares aside for a later date in case we need to raise more funds.  Thanks for everyone whos invested. Now please get that bitcoin price to rise.

All gone now Smiley Let the wild ride begin! (On a side note, I speculated (with some money, not talking, cause that gives my advantage away Wink ) that the price would rise once the IPO runs out. Looks like I am right.)

Now, if only the price of bitcoins would go back up ...
Yes this bitcoin price is screwing with my plans.  I have ideas for 2 websites. I think they will bring in alot more bitcoins than the mining operation does.  Don't want to just rely on mining in cases like this.  Hopefully since there are 9300 shares out there, the stock will be funner to trade than the others.

If we can't cheer the price might as well cheer the volume.
131  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market Doesn't Look to Hold Above $6.00 on: September 09, 2011, 06:57:08 AM
I asked tux what they did with those bitcoins that they earn.  He said they don't trade them.  He said they hold them and use them to buy things like that polish exchange.

Wonder how the power outage on the west coast is effecting bitcoin.
133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spend bitcoins or nobody will accept btc on: September 09, 2011, 04:03:02 AM
Shameless plug on where you can http://spendbitcoins.com.

I do use your service and love it, I'm just wondering how using it helps the bitcoin economy.  Whats the difference between me dumping bitcoins and buying something from amazon and me giving you the bitcoins and you dumping them so I can buy something off of amazon?

Not knocking your service cause its great, just wondering how it helps bitcoins in general.

EDIT: maybe its the simple convience that helps bitcoin, I dont know.

136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Hows the bitcoin ATM doing since bitbills is MIA? on: September 08, 2011, 03:50:46 AM

137  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The last president that tried to end the FED was assassinated. on: September 08, 2011, 02:29:16 AM
Kenedy did not tried to end the Fed (yes I know about his silver dollars).

But you are rigth that if elected Ron Paul has a lot of chances of being assessinated. I think he knows.

What kennedy did was a huge threat to the federal reserve system.  Right after he was killed his money was taken right out of circulation.
138  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Introducing Bitbills! on: September 07, 2011, 09:20:36 PM
maybe ask the bitcoin atm guy, he's on here.  Forgot his name.

Seems like the atm is built around bitbills, if they just disappeared he would know.
139  Economy / Speculation / Re: the real, actual, true, accurate reason the price dropped on: September 07, 2011, 05:26:51 PM
I read a post by Tux in one of the threads yesterday I dont remember which one, but he said the stolen wallets they have been following have indeed been selling off at a very fast pace.

140  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Is my 890FXA-GD70 bad? on: September 07, 2011, 03:36:59 PM
Its been a while since I put a computer together and I'm just trying to get a little input before I return it.

Basically, when I try to start it, it doesn't start.  No fans turn or anything. The power button on the board lights up for a second, and the power supply makes a click and thats it.  If I disconnect the 8 pin CPU power, it will start.  (although that doesn't help me much) I've taken out the cpu and made sure it was set correctly.  I've changed power supplies.  I've removed the video card.  I've removed the memory.  Still does the same thing.

Am I missing something or should I return this baby?

Thanks
Mike

I had the same exact problem. I would hit the power button on the mobo I would hear one click from the psu and then if I attempted to hit the power button again no click from the psu but the light would flash to show I hit the power button. If I disconected power from the psu and reattached it would let me make the click again and the only thing that ever lit up was the power button.

Just return it. That's what I did and everything is working perfectly now.

That is my EXACT same situation. Thanks.  Pain in the ass though.
