523  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think there will be a clone of bitcoin? and corporation will do what? on: July 12, 2011, 08:40:10 PM
I see more localized versions showing up in the future.  Maybe states will start their own type of bitcoins.  Bitcoins will always be the head honcho though.  Then again what do I know.
524  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is spamming Youtube with bitcoin tags and posts and Why? on: July 12, 2011, 08:15:27 PM
Write a bot that flags any video with "Get Bitcoins" as spam or maybe report that referral code to bitcoin 7 site owners ?

I've emailed bitcoin 7 many times about spam.  They say that it might be illegal to delete the spammers.
525  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Active Bitcoin nodes per day since December - cool charts on: July 12, 2011, 05:18:30 AM
what exactly is a node.  Is me running a client a node? Is my miner a node? not sure what a node is.

I wont miss it tonight. Lets rally Grin

I need something to wake up me up when this shit happens.  Is there an app out there that has an alarm?
529  Economy / Speculation / Re: Let the rally begin! on: July 12, 2011, 12:43:43 AM
Good. Get it up to $20.00 and then start your slow rise from there.

Yeah us miners are starving over here. lol
530  Economy / Speculation / Re: Just keep it in mind that there is someone has more than 10k bitcoin on: July 11, 2011, 04:36:01 PM
Keep in mind that there are people out there with more than $100 billion dollars, Warren Buffet for example. He can at any moment, use 0.1% of his money boost the bitcoin market to $1000+ per coin. So hold on to your coins.  Tongue

Very good point.
531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 20,000 BTC Selloff on MTGox -- hacked bitcoins? on: July 11, 2011, 03:41:40 PM
Today would have been a huge rally day since the world economy woke up with grim news.

Days not over yet.
532  Economy / Speculation / Re: Just keep it in mind that there is someone has more than 10k bitcoin on: July 11, 2011, 03:40:40 PM
Do you need to keep making seperate threads about this?

there's a bounceback.
534  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin article on a huge chinese news site with 6.5 millions daily pageviews on: July 11, 2011, 02:51:37 PM
i doubt it will cause huge network hashrate growth...

1. you need gpu for mining, since cpu mining is at loss. I doubt many chinese have latest (or previous) generation of amd gpus in their computers. it's more of a luxury and chinese are not known for their high average income.

2. even if they wanted and could mine, there is no legal way to withdraw funds. correct me if i am wrong though.

All my cards seem to be made in china.  All you gotta do is get cousin andy at the sweatshop down the street to sneak you a couple.  Or maybe the sweatshops themselves will start using the cards to mine, might be more profitable.  That would be a real true sweatshop.

Apparently a lot of coins were dumped on MtGox just awhile ago.

http://bitcoinity.org/markets?exchange=mtgox

Is it related to this? https://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=16457.0

It's just speculation of course, but the timing of it after allinvain's hack, the number of coins involved, and the reckless way they were dropped on MTGox leads one to think... :-)

Where do you get 20k from?
537  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: LinuxCoin A lightweight Debian based OS with everything ready to go. on: July 11, 2011, 02:13:57 AM
Anyone know how to control fanspeed on linuxcoin if its not your main display card?

I know I can use AMDOverdriveCtrl but on one of my cards it doesn't recognize the fan speed.  I'm not sure why.  Its a different model than my other 6950's.

also is there a way to make it auto according to temp, maybe by a script or something?

EDIT nevermind search is your friend.
538  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Current Volume on: July 11, 2011, 02:00:13 AM

Maybe I'm not reading it right but the prices seem to be off.   Right now mt. gox is trading at 15 and this shows last trade at 15.11

EDIT nevermind its just super fast and sees into the future.  Awesome
