AMDoverdriveCtrl is included, you run 1 instance (for card0) from the start menu icon, the next one from a console.

Search this forum for the commands.

Oh I see the new version has the powertune option... linuxcoin has the old version i guess.  Not sure how to install things on linuxcoin (gotta set up persistant mode first) but I guess I'll figure it out.

EDIT: Yes powertune is included in AMDOverdriveCtrl Cheesy

TFTP cluster guide is on its way Wink You lucky people hahaha Cheesy

Right but I have to download the new version yes? Just makin sure peace

Hey guys is there a program like Powertune included in Linuxcoin.  I have a few 6950's that I'd love to try it on.  Seems like I could be getting alot more out of these cards.

If so please tell me how to run it.  I'm still learning linux.

Thanks for all the support.

Lavon Affair, The King David Hotel Bombing, USS Liberty.. and so on.  If you don't know of these events, look them up and see who the real terrorists are. That is all.
646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin fliers? on: June 26, 2011, 03:38:56 AM
I have not seen any if you decide to do that for a project I would be happy to do any special/specific graphics free for something like that. It should include important websites relating to bitcoin such as bitcoin.org(obvious), mt.gox, tradehill and other important websites maybe a few that sell goods for bitcoins.

That would be great, I kinda suck with photoshop.  I'm sure we can find a good description that sums up bitcoin on the web, or if someone wants to post it here.  I guess you could also leave a blank spot for tradehills referral code for the person making the copies to write in? (good idea or not?).  Once its done i'll start making copies asap and start putting them out around town, it'll be kinda fun.  Everyone looks at fliers at coffeeshops and health food stores. Smiley (well almost everyone)

EDIT: if you do this I'll write your referral code in actually.  I'll take a pic to prove it when it happens. Peace
647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin fliers? on: June 26, 2011, 02:55:38 AM
Are there any fliers online explaining bitcoin to print out and put in local areas such as coffee shops and what not?  I'll make one if no.

I'm in Asheville, NC and it seems noone has ever heard of Bitcoin.  I was at a party tonight and told a bunch of people about it and they were very interested and couldn't stop asking questions.

I think if we all work on a local level and get the word out it will help bitcoin's cause alot.  Promoting on the internet is good but in the real world can be very powerful. Yeah?

I screwed up actually cd /opt/miners/pheonix otherwise you'll get file not found or something

./phoenix.py -u http://worker_name:worker_pass@useast.btcguild.com:8332/ -k poclbm DEVICE=1

Thanks man, didn't realize how similiar dos and linux can be.  As for my problem from linuxcoins start mining command, I didn't realize that the URL is different when mining with phoenix.  My stupid mistake. Smiley

Thanks for your help.
650  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: LinuxCoin A lightweight Debian based OS with everything ready to go. on: June 25, 2011, 01:34:26 AM
Hey can anyone tell me how to run the phoenix miner with linuxcoin.  I can't seem to get it to work.. I figure I'm either doing the flags wrong or the kernel wrong or both.

The polcbm miner works fine, but I want to see if the phoenix miner works better.

I"m talking about using it from the start_mining command

I'm not too familiar with terminal yet so not sure how to get to the file and run it that way, although I do know DOS.  I'll learn in due time.

cd ..
cd ..
cd /opt/miners

then use this
https://www.btcguild.com/how_to_connect.php

just keep in mind that is specific for BTCguild, if you are using a different pool or solo mining(which i highly doubt) then switch url for appropriate one
don't forget your paramaters at the end.

also instead of -k poclbm you can try -k phatk
sometimes it works a little better, thats what i use

Thats linux commands?

Hey Davinci glad to see you here, you been taking a beating on your silver channel ever since you started talking about bitcoins. lol.

If you want to learn linux, just start with linuxcoin at first.  I didn't know crap about linux 3 days ago.. with linuxcoin i was up and mining in minutes, straight from a usb drive with no need for a hard drive.

I realize that linuxcoin is mining for dummies kinda but its a good start and I'm learning more about linux.  I like it.  Hopefully i dont turn into a snob.
653  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining strike on: June 24, 2011, 12:15:23 AM
I like the idea but in the meantime try selling your bitcoins locally and keep them off the exchanges.  Craigslist, btcnearme.com, little announcements on the coffeeshop bulletin board.  Smiley

655  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Does downclocking your memory too much contribute to stale shares? on: June 23, 2011, 07:20:41 AM
Nope.  On my private pool I get 0 stales with long polling enabled and my video card RAM is at 325MHz.

I guess I meant extreme downclocking.  I guess thats what I was doing.. I put it up to around where you are and my stale shares have decreased considerably.  thanks.

Just wondering.
657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is Mt. Gox gonna cover the bitcoins transferred out? on: June 23, 2011, 04:05:02 AM
I think its a legitimate question.  If you go to around 18:30 in this video he says they aren't taking a loss except if people want some password card.

658  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How is Mt. Gox gonna cover the bitcoins transferred out? on: June 23, 2011, 03:51:53 AM
I know some people made trades the other day and quickly cashed out while the market was taking a dive.  Mark said that these people would have negative account balance when they return.  So the person who sold the coins will have their coins back? .  I'm just wondering where they come from.  Mark said in the interview the other night (if I heard correctly) that they aren't taking any losses?

 Huh

660  Bitcoin / Mining / Apply thermal paste to 6950? on: June 22, 2011, 07:43:32 PM
Was watching a video on youtube about applying thermal paste for bitcoin mining and one of the comments stated that applying thermal paste to a 6950 could actually raise the temps.  Is this true? If not, which thermal paste do you recommend.  Thanks
