I felt the same way when I first went there. I think the idea is very very exciting though. A whole stock market thats traded in just bitcoins, where you can invest in bitcoin companies and get payed dividends from their profits.
Now instead of just trading bitcoins you can trade bitcion stocks too. Of course the volume needs to get higher, and I really haven't seen too many companies on there that i have total faith in at the moment.
I totally agree, I think this is a fantastic idea (which is why I was going to attempt to put out some bitcoin stock for our company), but the process was sort of convoluted... And this is coming from a programmer... I see the concept, I love the concept, I think they're headed in the right direction, I just think the process of getting listed needs to be refined a bit... I agree too, maybe you should try again and ask nefario for help. I'll buy a few shares. :

Gigantic Lebanese Blue Socialist Elephant? Generously Large Bowl (of ice cream) Sunday Event? Global Librarian Blind School Educator?
In all seriousness, I believe it's "Global Bitcoin Stock Exchange" And I'll admit that I took a look, watched a few videos about generating the contract and signing it etc, but quickly realized that I was in over my head, so I backed away very slowly without letting the website know I was frightened...

Ever thought about putting some shares up on the GLBSE? I'm sure you would raise enough capital for whatever you need very quickly since there is a shortage of unshady companies on there at the moment and there are alot of people such as myself who are waiting for big timers to come on board.

Actually Swami, if you still don't understand then I would say don't start, or you are likely to make an expensive mistake.
In a few days I will have a test version of GLBSE up and running that people will be able to play with and try things out, without worrying about losing anything.
It will also allow developers to test anything they have hooked into GLBSE.
Nefario.
No I understand, I was just overtired when I typed that and didn't see the link to click to sign up.

before the end of august? LOL i wish.. nothing like setting your goals high.
it took massive bad news to get us down here and before that we were at 14, what is europe going to drop the euro for BTC?
I'd be happy if it was at 14 sept1st and that might be realistic.
.. ahh i see media coverage.. and I guess they wont mention mybitcoin or the guy who had 25000 coins stolen, or the exchange that lost it's wallet.. or that bitcoins fund terrorism and you can buy drugs with them online. And of course all this has gotten easier to understand and do in the mean time .. that client is totally grandma friendly.
I bet we get more miners and i bet we get to 14 baring more bad news.. but still no on 20
So are you going to bet? Easy 10 Btc. I'm not going to bet cause I simply don't know and have seen stranger things happen.

i think so far 2 or 3 defaults I think conditions might change to over 150 posts + registered and active for more than 2 months. I will also give special trusted customers 10 btc loans when they sign up for deposit accounts at IBB Yes I agree, its not bad to make sure the person isn't a scammer. I don't know about in the muslim world, but outside the muslim world there are scammers around every corner. I got taken for a few hundred bucks right when I started here a few months ago. Looking at this guys post numbers and posting history, I have no idea why you would give him bitcoins. Oh well, live and learn.

Someone just dropped a buttload into the 10.8 wall.
It is going down...
There goes the rest. Of course, there's a chance the seller will regret that in the coming hours. You seem very positive lately.

Do you guys got somthing like savings accounts, somthign where i leave a bit of my money with you, you use it on profitable things and then some time later i can get my money back plus a small fraction of the profits? Or are such agreements considered just as bad as charging interests on loans?
Just curious, why not just buy shares in this case?

thanks for your advice. yes we do check not just posts but also other feedback from other sites such as those you mentioned (amazon/ebay). so far only 2 havent repaid loan.
Are you also working to list your information on the GLBSE so you don't get delisted?

Yes please take more care before just lending bitcoins to anyone. I was gonna invest in your company but if scammers are taking away all the profits whats the point?

I really like this idea and would love to see more startups on it.

Let's take a look at the latest data... New memberships on the forum continue to decline, and we're now at April levels, with even some days in March having higher numbers than what we've seen over the last couple of days. Google Trends continues to decline, although there was a spike at the beginning of the month. Was the spike a leading indicator of the price recovery? Possibly. Google Trends is telling us that we'll be back in the single digits shortly, though I would say everyone else on this board thinks that is highly unlikely, going into the Bitcoin Conference. And of course, the chart. Overall, these alternative indicators predict a continued downtrend. If we continue up past $15, I would say these indicators are not helpful. If we continue back down to $5 and below, then they've proven themselves useful. The sharp decline of members could be because the site was ripped away from the bitcoin.org homepage. As for the other indicators who knows.

I cancelled mine and just bought bitcoins instead. Kinda glad they didn't send me a check.

I wired money to MtGox last week and had it on my account the same day (my local time)
My 8pm was already the next morning there
For what it's worth. Fees probably make it not worthwhile for $400 but for a bigger buy, it's not bad.
yea but I can't even wire them in yet as they didn't deposit the pennies for verification... hence it's slowing me down... Thats why ExchB is so cool cause you can go into any wells fargo location and fund your account. Haven't done it yet but seems like that will give them a sure step up on teh competition.

No new shows recently. Lost interest already brother John?

I think you're asking in the wrong place because everyone here is a bull. Even if someone seems like a bear, they are just trying to get you to sell your coins so they can get more.
That being said i see a steady rise until at least the conference. If the conference is awesome maybe it'll keep going???

and haven't really been part of the community. How do you know they are not part of the community? Can you point me to the list of community members? I'm sure they are part of the community, but bitcoin 7 itself doesn't have a community presence come on. I've only seen one post.
