You know what's funny about OP is that he says provably fair is a sham, and then points to a casino with a bad implementation. Oh wow, a reddit post. Please, slather your knowledge all over me master.

Please. Provable fairness is cryptographically proven, and here we have your word of trust. I don't know you, why should I trust you.

1411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Metadisk - Blockchain Based Cloud Storage - Powered by Storj on: May 16, 2014, 09:47:42 PM
Hello,

I'm interessed in this but i was wondering about legal issue. I mean copyrighted files and illegal files.

Since everything is encrypted, it'd be hard to get in legal trouble for hosting unknown content if you don't know what it is or have access to it. But i'm not a lawyer.

Friendly reminder that the admin has done nothing to address the points brought up against his flawed implementation of a provably fair system.

I have stated my thoughts on the subject in your scam accusations thread. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=582687.0
The current provably fair system is a joke. Your thread is also a joke.
You calling me an idiot is another joke.
Leaving me this "Shill for casinos that are not provably fair" as negative feedback is another joke.

I never said LN is provably fair. I don't run the site. My discussion is about the system itself, as it's not foolproof.
You are not interested in honest discussion and I called you out on this, with all fairness.

Your comeback is mediocre, dishonest and rather silly.
Yet you just proved your lack of arguments. I'm done with you.
What a coincidence,  I don't have time for two week old newbies either.

Are you really gonna do that? Being a new forum user is a shame around here?
Congrats on having yourself registered in a forum for a long time.

My points are valid and well supported, I don't see you doing the same.
I am a long member of the community and an honest trusted user. I have never scammed or acted as a shill for any website. Nor I ever will.
Your interpretation is incorrect and you were extremely rude by insulting instead of providing solid arguments.

I'm sorry you don't understand my opinion on the current provably fair systems.

I'm sorry about what I posted earlier,  I get heated really easily and with all the people that make alt accounts just to protect whatever site they run, and I'm tired of it. I removed my feedback on you, and if you will forgive me, I've started a new thread you'll be interested in. I have a short patience and a hot head, and it's my fault.
1419  Economy / Gambling / Let's create a new system for provable fairness. on: May 07, 2014, 02:49:19 PM
It would benefit the community if we all collaborated to make a new system. We should start off by listing problems with current provably fair systems.

  • The need to change a user seed every time in some cases.
  • Using variables in the hash that cannot be verified by the user that they were not changed after the bet. (Time, etc.)

We can add more if you post them here.

We should also list possible solutions to these problems. What if when a user signed on to a site, they input a deterministic wallet chain code. The site now locks that in to the account, and the user cannot have coins stolen because the site can always send to an address from that wallet and the client will have it. This also eliminates another problem.

As for the client seed, every roll could use the next deterministic address as the client seed. The site does not need to have the private keys, but if they have an address and a chain code, they can create all the next addresses, but not private keys.

I should not be the only person with input here. If you have ideas, post them. I'm just trying to get the ball rolling.
1420  Economy / Gambling / Re: An open discussion on Provably Fair on: May 07, 2014, 02:41:39 PM
There is no room for opinions in "An open discussion on Provably Fair" ?

If the users take the necessary steps no manipulation could take place, of course. What I said is that the system is not perfect and I agree with stunna that it's in its infancy.

Enforcing a provable result could be a good step.

I have also stated that I do not believe that PD or JD would ever manipulate anything.

I fully agree with the points you brought up. Provably fair is dangerous to gamblers as it gives them a truly false sense of security. I still feel there isn't a strong enough provably fair method for off-chain sites, the only site I feel is very provably fair is Satoshidice and I've heard of potential ways for them to game their system as well (I don't believe they ever have or would).

Ultimately even the strongest provably fair relies on the operator/website to not be a bad actor as virtually anything can be deleted or changed to enforce a "provable result". This all goes without saying that 90%+ of players do not even check the fairness of their rolls or only check them once.

I share this opinion.

In that case, maybe we can agree to help create a new way to do provable fairness.
