421  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com | The Bitcoin Casino | Plinko, Mines, Blackjack, Roulette + 8 more 👽 on: November 29, 2017, 10:25:09 PM
sorry if this was asked before but couldn't find it here in the thread and I just noticed that in roulette you can't make all the type of inside bets
I was trying to make some split bets on roulette , but found that I can only place straight up bets
is there anything I'm missing ?? or the developers made the inside bets only straight up ??
You're not missing anything, there are no edge/corner bets, just bets on single numbers or the groups.

I like playing stake.. but now faucet is down to 100 Sad
100 satoshis is $0.01 now. I feel like that's a pretty fair amount for trying out games and being able to play without using some form of play money. Many people think faucets are there for them to get free money. That's not what they're for. They're for trying out games before you deposit.
423  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I buy bitcoins as a non-US resident? on: November 29, 2017, 04:13:41 AM
You could look for bitcoin exchanges specific to your country/region, try to find bitcoin ATMs with coinradar, or look on localbitcoins for people selling near you.
424  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bittrex announces minimum trade size raise and other info on: November 29, 2017, 04:12:19 AM
Can anyone explain me how minimum trade of 10$ can help them to fight P&D groups? I'm not an experienced trader but it looks like those changes only make this exchange useless for beginners like me  Sad
I'm in the same boat. I used to use it to sell the small amount of altcoins that I've mined, but now it's worthless to me.
425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Passphrase not working on LTC Core wallet on: November 29, 2017, 04:08:21 AM
The only thing I can think of is maybe you didn't copy your passphrase when you think you did while creating the wallet, and used the last thing in your clipboard. How long ago did you create it? Have you ever unlocked the wallet with that passphrase before?
426  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bittrex announces minimum trade size raise and other info on: November 26, 2017, 11:33:23 PM
I laugh everytime I see bittrex announces about new features , they are busy making their site better and that's why they are ignoring thousands of tickets for people that want their money back
none of their changes at the moment make sense , there are many things to work on rather than that
also I don't know how these changes are supposed to be good !!
I think this is a common thing happening in exchanges trying to "come clean", making sure they have all their KYC info straight and everything, combined with their lack of handling scaling very well.
427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: sent ether to very similar address 185 days ago , still there can it b recoverd on: November 26, 2017, 11:16:08 PM
No, since it's a different address it's completely unrecoverable. It's unfortunate that ETH addresses don't have some sort of checksum. I believe wallets like Parity use capitalization to make a checksum, but if you've sent to the wrong address I don't think there's anything you can do.
428  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: nano ledger & the bitcoin forks on: November 26, 2017, 05:43:21 AM
I would imagine they would support any fork as long as it's economically worth it for the owners. Their entire business is a wallet so I'm hoping they continue to support the forks.
429  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger nano S or Trezor T? on: November 26, 2017, 05:40:26 AM
I like the fact you can use many coins on ledger but then you need multiple devices if use more then 3 apps. I wasn't aware so very good to know!
No, you don't... you can add and remove apps at will... One device is enough to manage all the supported coins. I currently have 5 "apps" on my Ledger Nano S... Bitcoin, Bitcoin Gold, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Dash and if I want to go use something else (like Ethereum for instance), I simply uninstall one of the apps and install the app I need for the currency I want to use. Takes all of 30 seconds.

Seriously, if you need access to more than 4 or 5 currencies simultaneously with a hardware wallet... you're trading wrong and probably spending a ton on transaction fees Roll Eyes

Yeah, while those people are probably heavy altcoin traders, I wouldn't say they don't deserve to use the ledger. I'm hoping they can find a way around the restriction.
430  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bittrex announces minimum trade size raise and other info on: November 26, 2017, 05:37:58 AM
I have to say I like this part with disabling orders which re 28 plus days old. It ll reduce clogging and also prevent people from using exchanges as wallets, which is also good since it reduces risk.

Most of the stuff Bittrex does is the step in the right direction, besides limiting accounts of people from countries under sanctions. But again, this is politics.

I don't see how removing old orders will stop people using the exchange as a wallet. You don't need to have money in an order to keep it in an exchange.
431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Massive Bitcoin Core smear campaign on reddit's r/btc on: November 26, 2017, 04:13:17 AM
Many people got into tricked that BCH will overtake BTC because of Segwit 2x drop and BTC fees going high. And the pump and dump caused a massive price variation. But sadly a lot people lost their money and the big whales made a fortune. One thing I learned is whenever BTC drops it will come back much stronger. I have been following both the subreddits and yeah there are a lot of difference. That begin said even r/Bitcoin is highly censored.

Both subreddits have their problems, but imo /r/btc is much more sketchy of a place. I can't believe any place that advocates for BCH.
432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Internet usage budget on: November 26, 2017, 03:05:51 AM
Miners use such a small amount of bandwidth, I'm not sure it would be a problem for any size operation. Your biggest concern is latency, not bandwidth.
433  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: sweep button greyed out in electrum on: November 26, 2017, 01:08:12 AM
AFAIK it can only sweep private keys, not whole seeds. I'm not sure if there is an easy way to get your private keys from your seed.
434  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔶 YOLOdice.com 🔶 FAST play/invest, maximum transparency, distributing BTG now on: November 26, 2017, 12:50:35 AM
I do like yolodice and how they operate and treat their customers.
But I am wondering about the announcement of letting players bet using a different currency other than bitcoin on the site.
This was mentioned a couple of months ago and said it would be implemented soon.
Any update on this admin/moderators of yolodice?

Thanks.

Love the site by the way. Alot of things have changed over the course of the past year it has been in operation.

Any celebration in the works for the one year old birthday?  Undecided

AFAIK the LTC integration is still being worked on, if I were to guess I would say that things like BCH and BTG distribution have caused it to be pushed back. I wouldn't worry about it not being implemented, it's being worked on still. And I'm sure somebody will do something about the birthday, if nobody else will, maybe I'll do a giveaway or two in chat.
435  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bittrex announces minimum trade size raise and other info on: November 25, 2017, 09:22:40 PM
I am perfectly fine with most of these changes since they don't affect me personally. It's mostly those who care about few buck trades that will be affected. It's obvious that Bittrex is trying to clean things up.

The only thing I am not really a fan of is that they will remove older orders, which is something that should never be messed with. In quite some cases orders aren't meant to be executed, and for that reason shouldn't be removed.

I am sure that a lot people waiting for Bittrex to respond to their tickets will not be happy with this. Bittrex has time to come up with changes concerning its trading platform, but doesn't have time to sort things out with people's accounts.

To be fair, you see that pretty often. People make a new exchange, they grow huge and then they can't handle the volume.
436  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustadice – Next Generation Dice (Ƀ 20 max profit & 10 bit faucet) on: November 25, 2017, 09:21:04 PM
will you do so for bitcoin diamond as well? it was hardforked at block 495866

I intend to make all forks that hold sufficient value available to players and investors, but only if it is safe to do so. Right now I'm only monitoring Bitcoin Diamond and haven't decided to claim it. If anything changes I'll be sure to update this thread.

I have a feeling that "Bitcoin forks" are going to be the next ICOs. This is going to be painful for everybody.
437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, Ether Prices Surge to Fresh All-Time Highs on: November 25, 2017, 06:31:29 PM
I don't really understand why people are still buying Ethereum. What's the point? It has been hacked endless times, and the smart contracts part can be done with Bitcoin sidechains as soon as they get released. Maybe by the time Rootstock is released Ethereum will have the hegemony on that field already and it becomes a good long term investment judging by this? I just don't feel like holding any other coin but Bitcoin, but Ethereum just keeps on going higher over time.

To be fair, Ethereum itself hasn't been hacked, those events were smart contracts that failed. This wasn't the fault of Ethereum itself but the teams that designed the contracts.
438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What does "unspent" mean in the Blockchain? on: November 25, 2017, 06:29:19 PM
Ah now i get it. So the coins are unspent from my side? But why didnt they show up in the address i sent them to? Any suggestions?

Bitcoin works by unspent outputs. You can only send money if you have unspent outputs. You get these when other people send you money, and then sum of them is your Bitcoin balance.
439  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Signed message from Poloniex? on: November 25, 2017, 05:47:45 PM
No, I don’t think so that you can get a signed address from Poloniex it will be against their law or maybe by that there security will get compromised maybe you can email them and tell your position maybe they can guide in a much better way?
Poloniex support is already terrible, even after you wait a month for a response, all you're going to hear is "no".
440  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Signed message from Poloniex? on: November 25, 2017, 05:43:41 PM
Unfortunately that's not possible. You won't be able to sign a message from an address owned by Poloniex.
