1241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Coinbase Referral Bonuses Have Increased From $25 to $75!" - What? on: August 21, 2015, 02:56:20 PM
That's crazy..$75 for a $100 purchase? That can easily just be sold back? I hope this doesn't get abused because it's a great way to get people into bitcoin.
1242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: could bitcoin have different version?with different blockchains? on: August 21, 2015, 02:49:50 PM
could bitcoin have different versión?with different blockchains?can bitcoin have bitcoin core and bitcoin xt?
That's what a fork in the blockchain is, when two different versions of the blockchain exist.
1243  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: thoughts on coin base wallet on: August 21, 2015, 12:44:36 PM
Coinbase is good for buying and selling bitcoins, but not really for being a wallet. Check out bitcoin.org for actual wallets.
1244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin on: August 21, 2015, 12:43:21 PM
My problem is that I can't spend it POS style. I can't walk down to my local coffee shop and spend a few to get a product in return. Right now it's possible through services and such to buy most everything that's on the internet with bitcoin, but real-world transactions are a hurdle I can't cross with those services.
1245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rejecting XP blocks now on: August 21, 2015, 12:41:43 PM
You mean XT right? I don't think it happens since they are still in the same blockchain.
Ops, thank you
FYI you can edit the topic name by clicking the edit button in the OP. Just so you know.
1246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin on: August 21, 2015, 12:40:30 PM
The easiest way would probably be to join a signature campaign on this forum to make a few bucks a week/month.
1247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google have been conspicuously quiet about Bitcoin for 6 years. What gives? on: August 21, 2015, 12:39:24 PM
Can we be sure that Google are not "too big to discredit"? Could Bitcoin endorsement really damage them that much?
I'm not so sure it's a matter of "too big to discredit", more just a buisiness decision, it might not make business sense to accept bitcoin for anything right now.
1248  Economy / Services / Re: 5$ in Bitcoin to fix my League of Legends ping. on: August 21, 2015, 12:37:31 PM
If it's not the LoL servers, it's possible that you're having a problem where your throughput isn't enough to quickly send game data packets. Basically, if someone or something is hogging your bandwidth, your ping is going to drop too.

On windows, open the resource monitor (win+r, type resmon, hit enter)
Go to the network tab and sort by outgoing

If you find a program using all of your upload speed, investigate what could be causing it.

On other operating systems, there should be similar tools.

Good luck.
1249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLE OR INVEST? on: August 21, 2015, 12:35:09 PM
Neither, but if you have to choose, invest. The house edge will be in your favor as opposed to against it. I think that just holding bitcoin is investment enough.
1250  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Safe.Cash BETA - Get a FREE wallet & quick survey get $2 in Bitcoins on: August 21, 2015, 12:33:39 PM
Sent my request to firstcoins, thanks again for the opportunity to help you and pay us.
1251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google have been conspicuously quiet about Bitcoin for 6 years. What gives? on: August 21, 2015, 12:28:43 PM
For the whole time the Bitcoin network has existed, Google has never once endorsed, denigrated or even alluded to Bitcoin. Not even once.

For instance, I've increasingly been seeing .99 cent Youtube videos creep into low volume channels for several months now. And because it doesn't seem quite plausible that Google can really afford all the bandwidth they serve up on Youtube, you can see how more pay-per-view content would help them out. It's a perfect use case for bitcoin, and a move like that could send the perception of Bitcoin up in the public's estimations (and possibly alos the exchange rate, too).

Are there any other blatant opportunities to commericalise bitcoin that Google has passed up on since the network started in 2009?
I don't think it's so much a matter of whether or not it would be beneficial to them, more whether or not people that view bitcoin with a bad light would start to view Google with a bad light. True, they are a very progressive company, but it still might be too risky for them, with a lot of unknowns.
1252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I lost my bitcoin address please help! on: August 21, 2015, 12:26:52 PM
I suggest you read up on how bitcoin addresses work, it's important so things like this don't happen.
1253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rejecting XP blocks now on: August 21, 2015, 12:25:58 PM
They can't reject XT mined blocks as long as they're a part of the same chain, what you're suggesting is a fork.
1254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Use your bitcoins to buy gas...get 25% discount on: August 20, 2015, 12:51:52 PM
Wow, that's pretty interesting actually. Thanks for sharing, hopefully I'll get the chance to use this soon.
1255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin XT has code which downloads your IP address to facilitate blacklisting on: August 19, 2015, 07:14:35 PM
So for the first time in history we are going to IP ban Bitcoin users... for our own safety?

Sounds alot like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patriot_Act

No its not the first time, you're just too new to know crap.

SatoshiDice was effectively banned with their dust tx spams.

>you're just too new to know crap

Oh, you sure fooled me meono, you are a master of deception.
1256  Economy / Services / Re: Share dedicated server: VPS, games hosting or whatever you want ! on: August 19, 2015, 07:11:37 PM
Nobody is going to take this offer because there is absolutely no way to know that you aren't reading/modifying any of their files.
1257  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Anonymizer on: August 19, 2015, 07:09:55 PM
so what benefit is there to us using your mixer over a more established one such as bitcoinfog? people tend to not trust new services, and won't test them without getting something out of it.

^^This. Is your volume in any way comparable to older mixers? Can you provide complete anonomity with a small volume like you probably have?
1258  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BBX Cloud Mining on: August 19, 2015, 07:08:34 PM
Friendly reminder that if companies like this could make money off of these miners, they wouldn't be renting them to you.
1259  Other / Off-topic / Re: Worst mistake you did with Bitcoin? on: August 19, 2015, 07:06:04 PM
My worst mistake? Probably just wasting so much time grinding for free coins somehow. Faucets. Sites that gave away coins. Anything that meant I was getting money without having to spend my own money.
1260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: XT 12.7% of Network - No blocks mined on: August 19, 2015, 07:04:20 PM
Nodes do not equal mining power. I can run a node on a $5 VPS, does that mean I'm going to mine any blocks? Probably not.
