1181  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does the size matter? on: August 30, 2015, 07:32:59 PM
Ah, pi. Well, size matters but it's up until a certain point that it just doesn't matter anymore.

Per Wikipedia: According to Jörg Arndt and Christoph Haenel, thirty-nine digits are sufficient to perform most cosmological calculations, because that is the accuracy necessary to calculate the volume of the known universe with a precision of one atom.
Interesting, I didn't know that. Too bad the same principle doesn't apply to a lot of things in computers, we could save so much memory.
1182  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: SteamBitShop.com ● Easily buy any Steam game with bitcoin or altcoins on: August 30, 2015, 06:28:42 PM
Does SteamBitShop sell Steam Wallet Cards too?
Not yet, unfortunately. I haven't found a reliable source for wallet codes.
If you could do that then I wouldn't ha e to go through gyft every time, that would be nice and I would use it.
1183  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Sharebit: Offline Peer to Peer Electronic Cash System on: August 30, 2015, 06:26:26 PM
How are you going to exchange information if its offline? Are you talking about...cash? I don't see the advantage or point of this.
1184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto PLEASE resolve this debate? 1MB blockstream vs 8MB Gavin Blocks on: August 30, 2015, 06:24:56 PM
As someone else has already pointed out, if a single person such as Satoshi is needed to resolve this issue or any issue, then Bitcoin is a failure.
True, we should be able to work this out on our own through consensus, but the bitcoin network isn't made of individual people all running their own node any more. It's getting more centralized than it should. People don't know as much ad they should.
1185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does martingale really works? on: August 30, 2015, 06:22:39 PM
Martingale just changes the odds of the game you're playing but can never change the house edge to be in your favor. You're changing it so that you have mostly small payouts, but frequently, and then one big loss that will cripple you. It's all in how long you play, the house will win if you play long enough.
1186  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [BETA] Directly reward miners for using Core or XT on: August 30, 2015, 06:20:28 PM
Just what we need, note people voting with their money. This might seem like a good idea but do we really want to give the people with more money more power?

Not to mention sending the money through a webpage which is on the same domain that this FUCKIN' EMBEZZLING PSYCHOPATH NxtChg is withholding my FUCKIN' BTC for over SEVEN (7) FULL FUCKIN' MONTHS...   Roll Eyes
If you're still waiting after 7 whole months, then IMO you should just forget about having that money because its not coming back.
1187  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [NEW Software] Fast Sign Verify on: August 30, 2015, 05:57:22 PM
Its nice that you provided the source, but its my opinion that tools like these are better done through websites where client side JavaScript can be easily checked.
1188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to make my coin community better... on: August 30, 2015, 05:55:53 PM
There's so many coins now, its hard to get out there. Do giveaways, try to put the name out there as much as possible.
1189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is the kind of news that gives Bitcoin a shady reputation... on: August 30, 2015, 05:54:29 PM
Helping terrorists is helping terrorists. Just because they used bitcoin doesn't mean bitcoin is the problem. No such thing as bad press.
1190  Economy / Services / Re: I need someone to calculate odds for a slot machine script for me. on: August 30, 2015, 05:49:28 PM
I can do this, PM me. Shouldn't be too hard to do on your own though, just Google house edge and work from there.

1192  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [APP/FREE] BitBox - Explore the network on: August 30, 2015, 05:08:42 PM
So is this just another exchange rate app? What makes it better? Did you just put everything on the blockchain API into an app?
1193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Should you stay or should you go? on: August 27, 2015, 02:52:17 AM
I think that it is very possible for people to build services over top of bitcoin that can greatly simplify its use without destroying the security and principles behind it.
1194  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] STEAM Account, VALUE: $7770, 776 Games (PRICE: 130$) on: August 27, 2015, 02:47:10 AM
For everyone that's asking questions about the value of the account compared to the price, as someone who uses steam a lot I can tell you this: Personally my account is "valued" at over $2k, but that isn't what it's actually worth. The value is taken from the full retail price of every game in the library. I would assume that a lot of these games were purchased on sale, especially through sites like humblebundle.com. That said, I wouldn't give away my steam account for $130 so I'd be cautious of where he got this account from, because steam support is known to lay down the hammer on situations like this.
1195  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Keepkey Hardware Review (Developer Version) on: August 27, 2015, 02:43:13 AM
Looks really slick, never really have been interested in a hardware wallet but they're getting my attention, especially with Mycelium supporting connecting hardware wallets and spending directly from the phone.
1196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GOVERMENTS killing CRYPTO. Back to the drawing table SATOSHI NAKAMOTO. on: August 27, 2015, 02:38:15 AM
The government is stealing our money using quantum asics? What's next, hitler bursts out of the ground where his secret nazi army was hiding and takes over the world riding on the backs of dinosaurs that shoot lasers?
1197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: August 27, 2015, 02:22:47 AM
Anyone tried to invest in BitMixer to grow their coin ?
I haven't tried investing in Bitmixer, but if you're looking at investing in other sites take a look at Just-Dice as well. However, I think you'd probably be able to make more money if you offered out loans here on the site, that's a decent way to grow small amounts of bitcoin by 5 to 10% per week, depending on how many loans you hand out and the interest rates. I suspect investing in Bitmixer, Just-Dice or other bitcoin sites would grow your bitcoin very slowly, but fairly steadily.
You have to be careful giving out loans because people can be untrustworthy, but investing in established sites is usually a good idea. The thing is with Just-Dice you're not only investing in the site, but in CLAM as well.
I do not think gambling is a great way to grow your bitcoin, because if you are not lucky you could lose all of your bitcoin.
I think trading is better than gambling
Read closer, I'm talking about investing in just-dice. I would never advise gambling as a way to grow your bitcoin, ever.
1198  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: August 27, 2015, 02:02:56 AM
... Some audible indication if you receive bitcoins. Andreas Schilbach's wallet has a very neat 'tinkling coins' sound. Just something subtle. Would be a great addition in the user experience, I think (sounds crazy, but often I've heard "damn I love that sound of incoming coins!")...
Agreed, weren't the devs talking about not being able to add notifications though? I would really, really like to be able to receive push notifications/have a sound when coins are received.
1199  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: brainwallet.io on: August 27, 2015, 01:59:19 AM
Brainwallets are just another form of storing your bitcoin. Humans are known to be notoriously bad randomness generators, but if you can find a good random phrase that you can remember, that hopefully you didn't come up with yourself, that's not out of a book or anything, it can be a novelty way to keep your coins without needing to save a file with your private keys.

They can confiscate your computer but they can't confiscate your thoughts.
1200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / We need more companies with original names. No more Bit-, -coin, or -pay. on: August 27, 2015, 01:55:55 AM
Yes, it's great that we can tell just by looking at your domain that you use bitcoin but we've gotten to the point where people will have some awful name and just add bit or coin to it somewhere and think it's the best thing ever. We're beyond that point now. Off the top of my head, I can think of Kraken. They chose a memorable name, that doesn't involve any part of the word bitcoin. No, they didn't go bankrupt because of it. Add some originality, people.
