so what happen, I thought there were going to launch last month, can I browse in a non centralized network?
Testnet 3 is really close. There have been development delays but it is likely for the better since there will be more apps available when it finally does launch (or so I have read). Patience here...their doing something no one has done yet and it's going to be cool...

Can we please refrain from ad hominems. Granted, trolls going to troll and they have no issue with perpetuating a negative atmosphere but the rest of us don't need to embrace it.
Replies are obviously going to happen but let's keep it civil...it's better in the long run for sure.
Two cents...

Are you helping them with their problem? They were the first exchange to add vanillacoin after all. Regards,
He did. tf2honeybadger from Poloniex Staff also helped them with their wallet. john-conner shouldn't have to work on an exchange's issue after he applied a fix (in my opinion)...Poloniex is fine for now in my opinion. Quality exchange with quality staff. As for feeding the trolls - Sigh. It seems newbie accounts spewing one sentence accusations are never far behind HT's initial appearance. The coin will speak for itself one way or the other... Edit - Of course, C-cex on board is not a bad thing...

If people are going to accuse non devs of shenanigans can there be at least a modicum of decorum where every single post is not quoted every other post?
It's not a rhetorical question.

Posted on the Vanilla forums last night... The next release for Windows and Mac OS X will have a console window where you can issue RPC commands. I have the GUI portions completed but still need to implement the middle-ware and stack level code. I don't expect this to take very long unless I get derailed.
Thank you for your support.

Hello,
I have been working with c-cex-yuriy on IRC to try and fix the issue with their wallet.dat. After reading the debug and error messages, we came to the conclusion that the wallet.dat has a corrupted or missing section, possibly due to the daemon being terminated before letting it flush data to disk. After attempting numerous repair tools on the damaged wallet.dat, I offered to compare C-Cex's broken wallet.dat to a working wallet.dat (empty one generated on my own computer) in a hex editor and attempt a manual repair of the wallet.dat. Please understand there is no guarantee that I will be successful in fixing the wallet in this way, and it is strictly best-effort. Yuriy accepted the offer, and will be sending me the wallet.dat over a secure tunnel. At the conclusion, regardless of outcome, I will shred all copies on my hard drive of C-Cex's wallet.dat using the 'shred' command. I will also be in contact with the developer of VNL over bitmessage, john-connor.
Thank you, tf2honeybadger / Kevin Poloniex Wallet Manager
Massive props for the disclosure and the resolution. I have one VNL (more symbolic than anything) with your name on it whenever. I don't think I have seen something like this posted on BTCtalk before...it's just pretty effing cool.

C-cex has a history of not applying fixes correctly/not updating/just screwing around.
It'll get fixed but on his schedule...I avoid them whenever possible.
First time I'm having problems with them. Not satisfied at all with how they are responding. Support out of sight and tickets non responded since yesterday. c-cex just seems to ignore users. I've encountered issues with multiple coins. The SSD dev was accused by Ccex of not delivering a fix and was met with the complete Skype discussion between the two where the SSD dev consistently called him out on improper conduct and not understanding his code correctly. It doesn't happen with every coin, sure, but it happened enough to cause me to be wary. Polo is operating poifectly though...

I would say the altcoin market is a disappearing one. This is an absolutely hopeless market of +600 shitcoins, operated by day traders and pathetic P&D scamers. None of the coins, not even NXT has a slight chance to make it, because there is nobody use altcoins in the real world. Ethereum perhaps will make it as smart contracts could address many real world business requirements...
+1 Nonetheless, while i agree the +600 alts will fade away, there are imho a handful of slots for alt-coins that posses a ' Focus Differentiation' strategy, which inherently gives them some unique sales proposition in a niche or defined market. Examples are: * Anonymity - there is a clear market for anonymous transactions, with Bitcoin delivering only pseudo-anonymity. A good contender is Darkcoin to lead this category, but Skycoin can deliver on that as well. * Smart Contracts - there is a clear market for small decentralized apps, with Bitcoin not built to deliver due to scaling, block-rate, etc..., whereas either NXT or Ethereum can lead this category. * Communication - there is clear need for a free, P2P, non-censored, border-less communication & hosting. Freenet is nice, and Tor works, but it's not "it". Skycoin can lead this category, in competition perhaps with MadeSafe. As for the majority rest of alts. RIP. I think that a few might surprise you. There are some who have established cross blockchain transactions and messages. Of course, their developments can likely be forked but creating a means for altcoins to use the attributes of others is a powerful notion. There might be some life left in some of them...and perhaps more... And then there is Maidsafe. I see both Sky and Maidsafe as relevant so I'm just going to get some popcorn...

Apparently now HZ is 'crowdfunding' a MGW clone.
Why crowdfund what jl777 did by himself, especially when the original is open source?
Please explain this to me, I want to understand.
When you say 'did', do you mean that everything Blocknet and XC and HZ are doing has been coded and accomplished by him (jl)alone? And there is no need for crypto to go any further? Does he have a finished product? I'm not saying he isn't talented; he is. But he is working by himself and doesn't have a finished product. Blocknet code also differs (want to talk about JSON?) so if you would kindly explain, in detail, why you think your question is worth considering I would appreciate it. Cheers...

Did DRK get a new dev?
That's my elephant in the room question. They release testnet for InstantX just after Mr. Spread does...
Wouldn't blame him. For the record, I'm tossing out nonsense...it's worth as much as some of the other stuff posted...

Lol!!!! Dead coin!!!!! Community bleeding to death!!!!!! Fucking scammers!
That's all sorts of Bullshit. I have opinions but calling Mr. Spread a scammer, as of now, is the biggest pile of shit I can imagine. I have no idea why he hasn't communicated and at this point I don't care. This coin was started in July last year...and there is nothing here that makes me believe that this was a long con. I lost more than a few BTC on this and I am okay with it - I never invest more than I can lose (and I am just below even here). But this wasn't a scam. Mr. Spread - for whatever reason he is not communicative - is a stout dev and actually has relevant code here. It's not scam code and the price isn't going anywhere without him so I am pretty sure that he isn't cashing out. So...pretty much, kindly eff off with your less than rudimentary assessment of the situation... Cheers...

I think something something happened.
That is my opinion. We can debate it all day long but won't know until we do (or don't).

The dev was to be online 24 hours back according to a member who had contacts. Well that time has elapsed too and now we can surely say that this is a well done scam.
While I have some skepticism regarding the claim about sources (healthy skepticism), the elapsed time is not proof positive that we can conclude that Mr. Spread is not coming back nor can we conclude that this is a 'well done scam'. That's poor logic. Still waiting here...
