in this case you already know these altcoins have less to no value to you.

No value to the Blocknet?

Quote
SSD – First steganograpic anon transaction over mobile.  This means that you can embed a transfer of SSD into an image that you take from your mobile and not have it traced – the image doesn’t suggest that a transaction has occurred.  That is pretty freaking stout in my opinion.  Development ongoing.

XST – World’s First anonymous SMS transaction.  Again, a mobile transaction that is anonymous. Development ongoing (this is a theme with everyone here so I won't repeat it).

APEX – In wallet developments – everything from social networking to casinos.  Aggressive dev team with an eye towards enabling web merchant transactions within their wallet.

UTIL – Content filtering to protect exit nodes from malicious and illegal content.  A great business feature.

SWIFT – geoSwift, a way to GPS locate and connect sellers/buyers via mobile.

LXC – Working on BlueTooth transactions…meaning mobile transactions without internet connection.  Sidechain research and implementation planned.

FIBRE – An Aggressive dev team that has already created their own OS and have integrated FibreLock (an android style password system that renders keyloggers obsolete) into a BTC Modded wallet in addition to their own.

NHZ – Asset Exchange and further expansion of NXT code.

XC – Working on some cool stuff with a dev who has proven himself through a mountain of accusations.  Not sure I need to list the features and development here.

The best part of my summaries are this – it’s not comprehensive!!!  It’s a miniscule aspect of what each coin has to offer and not a complete picture of what each respective coins developers are capable of.  My point was to make an attempt to list a unique feature of each coin to demonstrate the very broad based level of expertise represented here.  There are many talented devs here with many ‘firsts’ represented.  All of them together can combine into a seamless user experience that can’t be claimed anywhere.  All of these features together create a potential user experience that is unrivaled and will be for some time.

Apologies for the repost but I think people still don't get the technology that is/will be represented here.  All of the above has already occurred and expansion from that is what will occur for individual coins and their value to user experience is something that can't be quantified yet.

I'll tail off for now...I'm excited.  I have been involved with crypto for awhile and have been a 'quiet researcher/observer'...there is no way that anyone can convince me that these devs aren't stout and haven't delivered (I read more than many fudsters type)...

If one wants to consider...this is the largest public R&D experiment I have ever seen much less participated in.  It's the tech represented that should drive this and collaboration is where it will happen.

My two cents...

why so damn early?

I would rather a dev be awake at the launch than be absent (not to presume I really have preference over what a person does or does not do...merely a context point).  Since he is a self proclaimed coding geek, I think 5am is probably an opportunity for him to sleep in..though for the life of me I have no idea how he can sleep tonight.

No way am I sleeping tonight :-)

Yeah!

I might nap for a minute or two...; )

It's too early for me though...I'm mildly concerned it will sell out by the time I wake up. I even have a DMV appointment in the morning...GAHH!!!

Lolz...this reminds me of when I stayed up for the Maidsafe ICO/IPO/ITO...whateves...I was in the top 20 BTC buyers then and that was history in the making (in my opinion; it was the fastest selling crowdsale in history at that time).  This is something different if not potentially cooler from a tech perspective.

I'll sleep in line at the DMV...: )

Bittrex:

15btc buy vs 6.5btc sell

Cryptsy:

7btc buy vs 15btc sell

I have no words to describe this. First time seeing this lmao.

Unbelievable.  Someone has a vendetta.

Frustrating.

Long term coin this is...

I would't judge it by some dumpers trying to make profit.  That exists in every coin.  They are out now it looks like, so don't expect much more dumping to continue.

Exactly.  These guys have some huge plans and it will take time to develop.

I'm not worried about the 'dump'...in fact I expected it and am pleased to see that it was pretty much eaten up inside of a second.  My point was that the confidence should lie in the developer and what they are going to do within the next year...

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>UPDATE<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Hi All,

Fibre has been listed as a spotlight on Bittrex, we will be featured for a whole week. This will bring lots of exposure to Fibre due to the Blocknet IPO and Direct marketing to investors.

Theres absolutely no difference which participating coin you purchase to take advantage of the 10% off deal as the price is set against the BTC price. This spotlight will hopefully encourage people to purchase Additional Fibre to trade for Blocknet shares.

I noticed that!

It'll be interesting to gauge the effects over the next few days...if anything, there is valid feedback to be gained from this.  If I may ask, do you know the exact time that the spotlight went live?
529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SSD] Sonic - 1st TOR with functional anon send - Steganography based Anon App on: October 27, 2014, 04:34:44 AM
Close and open again. If you are syncing a new chain it can hang at spots. This is due to old clients still broadcasting invalid blocks

Thanks for the reply...have closed and re-opened and will let it work itself over night.

I'm having trouble with the wallet...it hasn't synced past 18.44% in over two hours with 8 active connections.

Haven't had trouble at all since the launch and I am on the latest update...

Hey hey, thanks for being keen to test new builds.

The link on the OP goes to http://xc-official.com/xc-downloads/ - a generic page for all downloads.

The latest releases will always be in http://downloads.xc-official.com/release/

Thanks, bookmarked...

I'm off to bed, but I'd like to ask:

Who's had any issues with the latest wallet releases?

Version 2.49.08 on Windows, Mac and Linux.

Seriously. If there are any issues outstanding, we want to straighten them out pronto.

Question - Does the wallet link always get updated into the opening post or some other consistent location?

I don't always catch the new releases and acknowledge that sometimes they are test releases so it is not unusual for me to not be on the latest (and I would like to become more involved with providing feedback if it helps the development)...

The BlockNet website is up

http://theblocknet.com

The Blocknet's ITO will begin on 5am EST Oct 29th and run until November 5th 11:59pm

Wow...very early for me.  I might have to wait and see how things are going when I wake up.  Not sure I need to be there for the beginning.

Thanks for posting that information!

Guys, I keep monitoring XC since it is an interesting project. Some advise: Do not build an app without the help of a UI/UX designer. You guys can do better. I'm a user interface designer myself but unfortunately I don't have time to help out. If you want to be taken seriously, these things need to look far more professional. Hopefully the interface will be looked at in the future (ideally this would be the first step though since it affects application architecture).

Respectfully, I disagree.  You put things out and show delivery.  Features, including design and UI can always be improved upon in future deliveries.  The point is xc users have more utility in the currency with new platforms, NOW.  This provides value to the whole eco-system.  Design is important, yes.  I'm a designer.  But this space moves fast and improvements are only a release away if needed.

I was thinking the same thing.  The UI should be secondary after the 'background code'.  Not that it isn't important but it is an easy thing to update.

That said...I am not adverse to the UI.  I like the color scheme...

I think it should be noted again that there was a recent thread and recruitment of Trolls for BTC.  If someone has the money to hire trolls for BTC then they have the money to manipulate a low liquid market...
537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XC][XCurrency] Decentralised Trustless Privacy Platform / Encrypted XChat / Pos on: October 24, 2014, 01:19:53 AM
I cant wait for this retard wannabe to finish dumping and Ive already said who it was, its going to be glorious leaving all the shit coins in the dust soon.

The more he dumps the more I earn from the Multipool.  Heu heu heu

I won't bring up his name because I think you are incorrect.

I think that there are a few interests that have issues with XC based on vested interest.  And if they are able to manipulate a low liquid market then there is at least the possibility that, if they are vested elsewhere (again, not naming names) that it is likely of little consequence for them to keep selling and rebuying in order to sell again on the upswings.  It has been a very consistent pattern over the course of months with new interests becoming interested in XC not being perceived as a safe bet.  I think that there is a concerted effort to suppress the price.  But I don't think that will work once XC is public...because the technology is nothing like that is out there now and nor is expanding beyond the fickle and sometimes malicious whims of the crypto community going to be anything but a positive.

I think what I have always thought.  That XC is building a foundation for their code specifically so they can incorporate.  The code, which people are screaming is invalid because it is currently close sourced (which I think is a good idea), is a foundation for all of the applications.  For XChat, XMobile, VOIP and et cetera.  All of this is beside the Blocknet, which will be something for the crypto community and beyond when we finally evolve beyond the few petulant lucky millionaires who happened to find themselves after a major and fortunate pump.

I wish I had more BTC to buy more XC.  No other crypto is planning an ITO.  None.  And that speaks volumes about long term interests with regards to the XC team and other competitors.

Won't stop me from cringing though...I bought on this last down swing and might have to sell another one in order to take advantage...

And for the record...name calling is no fun.

I hope to see the entire crypto space vet the hell out of this decentralised "feature" and provide their basis good and bad. I think we may finally see results achieved within the design implemented within FIBRE without a lot of the empty promise and failure from others that tried before. This innovation does not happen by mistake and it not something you create overnight. It's apparent the devs have been brewing the fibre stew for a long time now and mixing it very well  Kiss

+1

This is exactly my doubt - XC, top 20 coin associated itself with note know coins, so that unknown coins associated themselves with well known XC. Result I expect is "psychological value" flow from XC to those less known coins.

Have you researched the dev prominence behind those coins or just the Marketcap?

Looks like someone is trying to stock up on more maidsafecoin each time the price dips. I guess they want to accumulate without driving the prJulyice up too much.

It's been happening like that for months...I buy when I can; I just don't have those resources but I get notifications on my mobile every time the price moves 5% and the pattern is very consistent.
