541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Blocknet] The internet of blockchains / XBridge / true cross-chain P2P on: October 22, 2014, 03:21:37 AM
I see a few posts that are harping on why certain coins were chosen to join Blocknet.  Some are citing small marketcap blah blah blah.

Atcsecure mentioned that the development of the technology was priority.  With this in mind, let us take a look at what each of the coins represented in the Blocknet Foundation have done…in no particular order.

SSD – First steganograpic anon transaction over mobile.  This means that you can embed a transfer of SSD into an image that you take from your mobile and not have it traced – the image doesn’t suggest that a transaction has occurred.  That is pretty freaking stout in my opinion.  Development ongoing.

XST – World’s First anonymous SMS transaction.  Again, a mobile transaction that is anonymous. Development ongoing (this is a theme with everyone here so I won't repeat it).

APEX – In wallet developments – everything from social networking to casinos.  Aggressive dev team with an eye towards enabling web merchant transactions within their wallet.

UTIL – Content filtering to protect exit nodes from malicious and illegal content.  A great business feature.

SWIFT – geoSwift, a way to GPS locate and connect sellers/buyers via mobile.

LXC – Working on BlueTooth transactions…meaning mobile transactions without internet connection.  Sidechain research and implementation planned.

FIBRE – An Aggressive dev team that has already created their own OS and have integrated FibreLock (an android style password system that renders keyloggers obsolete) into a BTC Modded wallet in addition to their own.

NHZ – Asset Exchange and further expansion of NXT code.

XC – Working on some cool stuff with a dev who has proven himself through a mountain of accusations.  Not sure I need to list the features and development here.

The best part of my summaries are this – it’s not comprehensive!!!  It’s a miniscule aspect of what each coin has to offer and not a complete picture of what each respective coins developers are capable of.  My point was to make an attempt to list a unique feature of each coin to demonstrate the very broad based level of expertise represented here.  There are many talented devs here with many ‘firsts’ represented.  All of them together can combine into a seamless user experience that can’t be claimed ANYWHERE.  All of these features together create a potential user experience that is unrivaled and will be for some time.

The marketcap of each coin, at this time, is irrelevant to me. That is not what defines their worth. The devs are pretty stout and it is the technology that is being developed that is the main issue and what will drive their relevance.

None of the posts that I see are even focusing on what the development teams are doing.  That needs to be corrected.

In fact, Blocknet has a group of talented people who will collaborate on making something that is something that Crypto has never seen before.  And I think that is something that isn't being done elsewhere.

Just want to re-iterate that a few pages back it was established that there was an active campaign to hire Trolls to 'destroy reputations'.

All the fallacies are rearing their ugly heads it appears.

I bought today.  Those coins won't go into the market trolls coffers...(I'm assuming that they exist).

Edit - Post above me beat me to it.

where it hyperlink?

I didn't even notice the hyperlinks but now that you mention it, I don't see it either. Perhaps a small oversight that can be corrected?

where is stealthcoin(XST), is there a reason why you want to hide stealthcoin?

It's next to NHZ and Fibre at the bottom...-thumbsup-

Fibre Lock in the Bitcoin QT is seriously cool.  Looking forward to the review...
546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Blocknet] The internet of blockchains / XBridge / true cross-chain P2P on: October 20, 2014, 11:04:37 PM
Do we know what time the ITO will start?  I would like to purchase at the beginning.  Also, are there limits on the amount one purchase can make?  It seems like it would be possible for someone to purchase a very large chunk and muscle out some of us smaller guys...
547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Blocknet] The internet of blockchains / XBridge / true cross-chain P2P on: October 20, 2014, 10:57:54 PM

The ITO for XC Inc. is separate from the ITO for Blocknet...

This looks like it'll be fun.  Looking forward to the 29th...

Hi MemoryShock

Sorry if I offended you I was just having a bit of fun

Jon  Embarrassed

It wasn't that offensive so please don't worry.  I just meant that the question was answered and I didn't really think a meme campaign was necessary...though I concede that there isn't any reason to not have it.

Olive branch...I am hoping for the success of the things and stuff...in many directions.

Hi guys one of the guys at SuperNET HQ sent me this, he told me it was sneek peek of James doing his morning warmup before programing

Jon  Wink

Thanks; I love random pictures from the web describing to me how how I should think!!

Go Fox News!!!

P.S. I'm bowing out now...Kind of irked that propaganda got worked into the thread after James posted a perfectly valid response.

Are you coding by yourself?

Honest question...
551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [FIBRE] | BLOCKNET | 625k | FibreDark | FibreLock | FibreMixer | FibreGateway | on: October 20, 2014, 06:07:22 AM

Hey guys, I am not sure what advantage we would have in joining the Blocknet.  We already have a feature packed coin and if I understand this correctly, we would be able to use any other coins features and other coins will be able to use our features.

So my question is, what features that we dont have, or dont plan on building that we need another coin to do it for us?  A fiat gateway is one thing but what else is there.

I think that there is advantage.  Collaboration with some pretty awesome coins and a very expanded user base by proxy.

Don't get me wrong, I think this dev team is top notch and we are going to see some pretty amazing things in the near future...but in a sea of alt coins, there is nothing like being in a top tier that is doing something that no one else is doing (Supernet notwithstanding; I think the motivations of the two are different anyway.  Supernet seems to have one individual who is hedging everyone's bet with some code that only he is writing while Blocknet is a group of people with different features working to integrate them into something completely different.  It is why I love Utilitycoin's inclusion as they are working on a VPN that filters malicious content...it's about a decentralized web experience for the public).

Who better to help with Blocknet with that in mind than a dev team that has applied an swipe like password into their wallet and is doing it for Bitcoin?

Attention for user friendly and secure experience?  Yes please...
552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SMBR] Sembro Token ITO (Bittrex) on: October 20, 2014, 05:58:15 AM
I think what matters here is whether or not the dev here, or real world company, feels like they can do what they claim.

Confidence is everything.  The terms were set and should be honoured if the dev is going to do what they promised.

In this respect, some dev activity in the next few days describing what they are doing would be better then asking the community to re-negotiate the terms of the IPO.

My two cents...and I have bought into a few that failed miserably.  Sembro sounds like it has a team that wants to do stuff...so do it!!!
553  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: October 19, 2014, 06:43:14 PM
Can someone please let me know how to participate in the testnet?

I think they are still rolling that part out.  There is supposed to be something but David said in another post that there were some 'annoyance bugs' that they were fixing.

I'd keep an eye on this thread; seems to be the closest to discussion on participation.

That's awesome!

In other news, a Public Service Announcement -

Quote
It has come to our attention that fraudulent MaidSafeCoins are currently being traded online. This is clearly unfortunate and is not a problem specific to just MaidSafe, we have heard of other organisations that have experienced similar issues. Despite being designed for legitimate use, some platforms, such as Counterparty, enable users to create fraudulent assets, or coins. As many of these networks are decentralised, and to some extent anonymous, it is not possible for the fraudulent issuance of coins to be banned or stopped.

As the following article points out, there are ways to determine if coins are counterfeit. Our recommendation is that that users looking to acquire MaidSafeCoins do so only via recognised exchanges, such as masterxchange or Poloniex.

This will be a temporary issue as once the SAFE network goes into beta, MaidSafeCoins will be traded on a 1:1 basis for safecoins. Within SAFE, only the network is able to generate new coins.

555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: MaryJane (aka MariJuana) the Chill, Sexy & Secure Coin...[BITTREX][ANN|MARYJ] on: October 17, 2014, 04:57:19 PM
Cann seems unsustainable in my opinion.  It has 91 million coins.  For comparison, Blackcoin has 75 million and is consistently priced at 10K with slight increases to 14K during good news and then a gradual return to the 10K area.  This is a pump for Cann...Two weeks from now I would be shocked to see it above 7-8K per coin...which is a reasonable marketcap for what they have going on.

Not dissing Cann at all but I think MaryJ can soonish be doing what they are doing by way of real world adoption (room for two coins in that industry?  Yes.) and have a better tech development...exciting times...though patience is always the order of the day...
556  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: MaryJane (aka MariJuana) the Chill, Sexy & Secure Coin...[BITTREX][ANN|MARYJ] on: October 17, 2014, 04:29:31 PM
Any fresh news from the dev to fire things up or we can only speculate ?

Dev is going to post later with a wallet update that eliminates any possibility of the destroyed coins making a comeback.  Meaning there is a wallet update.  He also mentioned a few things as well.

This coin is still young and the dev is still active.  People claiming that this coin is done are really not being accurate.  With all due respect to the new people here; some of you are posting knee-jerk reactions that aren't necessarily valid.  Relax...I like the technicals of this coin much better.  MaryJ already has a feature that you don't see everywhere - MaryJID (which I think is pretty cool and convenient) and a chat function.  Paranoid Mode to satisfy the anon desires? Yes please.

The dev team seems like it is more skilled than the other POT coins and they are working on real world adoption.  After a week old? There is much room for growth and development...

557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: October 17, 2014, 03:55:16 PM
My real question is : why do the open source code is not updated ?

That is a question that is probably better asked them (via the Maidsafe forum; they don't read this thread often but they are very active over there).
558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: October 17, 2014, 03:24:05 PM

What the hell are they testing ?

Why no release since 19 Dec 2013 ?
https://github.com/maidsafe/MaidSafe/releases

Has the project been renamed ?

https://www.maidsafe.org/

Still in active development; TestNet2 is going to be released soon and no project renaming (though they briefly considered my rename suggestion,"The Awesomest")...

Did you read any of the last page or did you just post without looking at any of it? Because 2 of those questions are easily answered up there...
559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SSD] Sonic - 1st TOR with functional anon send - Steganography based Anon App on: October 16, 2014, 08:49:11 PM
I really like the graphic design used...easily one of the slickest in the crypto community in my opinion.

The new roadmap looks awesome as well...definitely looking forward to the app extension in December.
560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XC][XCurrency] Decentralised Trustless Privacy Platform / Encrypted XChat / Pos on: October 16, 2014, 04:41:31 AM
But to me it seems like a way to get a hold of tech by collaboration and to me points towards money due to pressure from people with money on Dan to use his name, which is what its for but seems to be used a lot lately. More so then over the techs ability to help people in the future which some projects are really focused on and some are focused on just money grabs and misleading marketing i.e using Dans name.. Don't get me wrong these are just my opinions and they stand until we see more develop here and provocative as my opinions are they really are not so out there at least some think so. As you said we will see soon. Thanks.

My apologies but it was difficult wading through that paragraph.

If I interpreted correctly, you saying that these coins are on board to use Dan's name, i.e. the coin reviews solicited by Key, Aero and others in order to grant them credibility and a price increase on the markets.

Big difference.  Those reviews were solicited.

The devs listed on the Blocknet, as far as I can see and interpret, have value/unique features that contribute and are serious enough to have access to XC's foundation...meaning that they all add to the user experience Blocknet will be attempting to create.  It's a two way street.

I respect a healthy suspicion of motives, for sure, but I am not seeing that here.  Everyone benefits and if things work out well, they all benefit from each others developing experience which to me is preferable to working by oneself.

And as I mentioned above...collaboration does not necessarily require the relinquishing of specifics.
