I reserve the right to modify this before the unit is purchased in case btc fluctuates and we are short to pay BFL (deficiency would be spread equally among participants)
If it fluctuates to such a degree that one decides not to provide additional funds what will happen at that point? Since you are willing to take more BTC when the exchange rate goes lower are you willing to pay back additional amounts when the exchange rate goes higher? refund. if more is collected than necessary, the difference can be sent back to shareholders. however, if it's a few btc i won't bother and will use the funds to pay for the operations... this means that there will be more going out to shareholders as a payout. funds would sit in a segregated wallet with shareholders being able to see balances and transactions on blockchain.

When it will be shipped?
I have no control over that. I will let everyone know when BFL ships it.

Will group buy #13 be today?
Yes it will

7/21/13: CLOSED DUE TO LACK OF INTEREST. please don't post in this thread.
I'm thinking about putting my 25% off voucher from BFL to purchase a 500 GH/s Bitcoin Miner BitForce 500 GH/s Mini Rig SC which would put the price at 22,484.00*(1-.25)= 16863 plus shipping, (which may be based on the original price so it is $798.00), for a total of $17661 or at the current mtgox rate of $89.35 it is about ~200 btc. I reserve the right to modify this before the unit is purchased in case btc fluctuates and we are short to pay BFL (deficiency would be spread equally among participants)
Assuming that a received device is running at 90% (spec) of the 500GH, that leaves 450GH/s available for calculations...
I'd like to sell 90% of 450 which is 405GH/s / 200 btc as shares. so it is 2.025 Gh/s for each share @1 btc.
I'd run it as long as it's profitable/operational in a climate controlled environment. profitability depends on operating costs (electricity mostly but could include necessary maintenance, repair etc..). and would be taken out of mined btc at cost. btc payout weekly. decisions can be voted on based on % of share ownership. once it is no longer profitable to operate, I will keep the hardware. those wishing to sell their share to someone else would pay a fee to transfer the shares to another person (2%).
is there any interest? If so, please send 1 btc per share to 1LhsEySjkqYuY7JrDSFkFa2zgvnQGN2H96 there are 200 shares per device. if this sells out quickly, I may run sell another device sale since the 25% discount does not appear to be limited to a single device, rather to a single order.
if this does not get filled up, I'll refund the outstanding orders.
P.S. if the hashing rate is higher than 450, the difference will be applied to each share owned, for example if it's rate turns out to be 475GH/s then 427.5 GH/s will be available for the 200 shares at 2.1375 Gh/s per share.
No reservations are taken. You need to send payment to own the shares.

Can someone that completed an order on group buy 11 assist me to complete an order? I sent my bitcoins to Canary's address as posted but I am partially BLIND, friends must read for me or one of my programs will (but that takes forever on a board) evidently I am doing something wrong & Canary can't verify with all the info I have sent and he does not give refunds. I have the blockchain transaction record & can take screenshots if need be. Any help is appreciated, just PM me ziggysisland
Ziggy, the last message you PM'ed me verified, so you must have gotten some good help from your friends!! I'm sorry you've had all this trouble with sending a message which is exasperated by your partial blindness... your order has now shipped and I also included a gift for you that is bitcoin related but you can actually hold it and feel in your hand... Thanks, Canary

How do you brand them?
Luke-Jr provided software to do that for Eligius pool

i ordered one of them to use to brand Eligius USBs and to burn in 49 sticks at a time for their mining pool will also post a writeup/review on the USB thread

This group buy has bee PAUSED. No chips are available for purchase from this group buy. Will resume after the board being designed is tested.
|
|

BFL has sent me sample chips... I have made solid arrangements to provide some to a PCB designer to begin testing.
At some point, it would be interesting to have some upper and lower estimates on delivered circuit board cost. Clearly that would be highly volume dependent and I'd expect the designers and guys that handle the mft to make a profit. I used to do this and know how it is. Cost range would be nice KNOWING it's only a crude guess. sample boards are getting ordered tomorrow and then assembled with the sample chips for testing... once testing is completed, we'll have some idea on pricing...

Received 2nd batch. now shipping... you won't find me for a bit...
you are the man! Now I just need a 50A 150port USB hub! you can get a 49 port hub, but it costs an arm and a leg Found a few for 800. Still better to get the ankers if running on a computer. If I was only running a raspberry pi this would be the best option Where did you find it for 800?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=190731.msg2748156#msg2748156 BKKCoins on revision to K1. Check your hubs gentlemen. I haven't updated the K1 files yet. The new board revision will use the 2G02 but it's not pin compatible so you can't place that on the old board.
Here's a brief list of changes I'm doing for the K1:
- replace NOR gate with DUAL NOR gate - add Schmitt inverter package - chg PIC to QFN - add thermistor for temperature sensing - add 2 holes for mounting a heat sink - Make both LEDs flashable (tied to PIC pins) - make I2C non-thru hole SMD header type pads - use 2mm board thickness for USB compatibility - specify an alternate reg and inductor allowing 3A power (not for USB 2.0 ports)
I'm part way thru this now but have been sidetracked today by work on the web store (which is up now but not tested yet). Yay! the revision requires USB 3.0 port? is that the deal with K1 PCB re-design?

I've started on a table over the hubs that were mentioned or look promising. See OP. If anyone had successful experience with any other hubs, please mention them here.
I'm having good results with the Cambrionix A6 49 port 2.0 Hub on Windows7. Will update once I've tested it on BeagleBone Black. It's waaaaaay too expensive to buy new, but I scored a used one for $200. Currently running perfect with 33 Erupters, 16 more on the way. Hoping my Sparkle Power Supply can drive all 49! $200 for it is a steal!!!! i'm getting quotes of over $1000. ordered me one to help me with Eligius branding and testing of USB Miners sold on their pool's website. should arrive tomorrow
