2901  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: CoinCanary.org - Mining Database - All Known Vendors and Status on: June 26, 2013, 01:37:26 PM

He was kidding. But you have two usernames? And how is canary related to mining?

No, I'm just me Smiley

Canaries were used in the days before better air quality testing gear was available to miners. Much of the time there would be toxic gases released with digging, most notably carbon monoxide that is colorless and odorless (poisonous to humans). A canary was put in the mine ahead of the miners themselves, and if the canary died, they would know it was likely not safe for them either. This practice is no longer done in the civilized world of course, but long ago it was the only way to detect deadly gasses before the advent of mechanical air sensors.

The concept here is similar, much like the analog of real gold mining to digital Bitcoin mining, the scope is to alert miners to the information and dangers surrounding these many startups/scams before people get suckered.
Actually, if the canary died in the mine back then, people ran faster than "like hell" outta there... Because death was imminent. Needless to say some died anyway due to getting stampeded...

Alright, I need to call it a night!
Gotta catch a few measely hours of sleep then head out for a quick flight tomorrow morning.
If you're not on the OP, that means I haven't entered you on it yet.  as of this moment, there are 30 orders that are yet to be added to OP.  I'll put a good dent into that number tomorrow afternoon after I return from my meeting in a certain state that's home to a certain company that is certainly involved in bitcoins Grin

Good night!

Sure you don't have two transactions? Cause I think you should have. Max of 10 per transaction.

Qt  5=.99*5 + 0.2618=4.95+0.2618= 5.2118 BTC
Qt  10=.99*5 + 0.2618=9.9+0.2618= 10.1618 BTC
5.2118+10.1618 +1 = 16.3736 which has been paid according to transaction id 0d438c5a4bf7c470a42291c1110b6d19393ce767df86e991dbca05382a04312d

Will be price reduced if I provide my coupons?
From where chips will be snet and shipping is included or no?
Is there any other expenses, like taxes or customs, added to basic price? (I dont mean taxes and duties at my country)?

Thank You.

Canary... why not just set up a reseller agreement with friedcat?  I imagine you would get a little bit more of the action that way... and you seem to be able to handle this well.

Or in other words... time for a new day job!
if friedcat decides that they want to deal with 1 re-seller (i.e. exclusivity) only then I would want a chance/shot at becoming that re-seller with ASICMiner/friedcat.

however, I do believe in competition and would rather not see friedcat/ASICMiner lock others out.

so, only if they decide that they WANT 1  person to deal with, than I want a shot at that.
makes sense?

I don't want there to be only 1 and a monopoly

but if there is only 1 and a monopoly, I want to be that 1 Smiley

Not such a bad thing to have a seemingly ethical person as the monopoly if there must be a monopoly d:
I don't want to see a monopoly. even though it would be temporary anyway... seems like other suppliers will begin to have their product available in a few months..

not my choice in this matter...  just expressing my views.  There was an attempt by someone on these boards, so that attempt got me thinking about this.
ASICMiner/friedcat seems to have created exclusives in other parts of the world, so my comment is based on what we've seen so far.

After I send payment were do I find the "address sent from" that's used in the first step of the vitrification process?
lookup your transaction info on blockchain.info

well for 130 bucks I guess I'll buy one. for the novelty of it.

so i send 1.2518 to  1JzCPZvUsnTTcedDfCyz1SV52Lc1aLSRhm

then post in thread <username> <number of units> <amount sent in BTC> <address sent from> then PM you with the encrypted signature thing containing my address, amount send and user name with the thingamajig...  so you can verify i really sent it.  Kind of complex. ok let me figure this out.

Edit: Just received coins from my mining pool let me get a few confirmations and I"ll buy one
lets see, Full member, activity 151.. yeah.. I think you can handle it!  Grin

has anyone got a shippping eta or been told when he's going to receive the USB miners?
waiting for arrival of shipments from friedcat.  As I have info, it will be posted here.  I'm pretty transparent with it.
