to the best of my knowledge, the manufacturer has never assigned batch numbers to the USB Erupters, that is purely a forums/eBay creation by the members probably for marketing/sales purposes.  friedcat has from time to time announced changes such as colors for example and post announcement he would ship those announced "versions".  the "versions" were not numeric either.  some people confused the Rev 1, rev 2 and rev 3 marking on the PCBs as versions, but the PCBs were made a VERY long time ago... then all the other variations came into existence (heat sink color changes mostly)

I'm not aware of what "batch 4" is, probably someone's conjecture about future "versions" at this point.

If you read through this thread you can see what the future holds for USB miners, as it stands right now.

no additional info until mid October, even then it's not a guarantee of anything...

Those with existing orders, you'll need to email me a shipping label and send me a small handling fee if I have to buy anti static bags etc... Once I know the packaging cost, I'll know what the fee will be.

friedcat has remaining what I personally consider a limited supply of USBs and they won't be made again after his remaining inventory is gone.

i'm waiting for conspiracy stories how bitcoin is a CIA creation and silk road the honey trap to get "all" dealers and others who competed with the "sanctioned" drug dealers.  those will be fun to read.

well.. now bitcoin is no longer used for illicit activities then!  it has been cleaned up by the feds, thank you... now back to legal uses only  

apparently silkroad was centralized...  anything that is centralized can be shutdown. (including large centralized mining operations )
