Is there a public donation address handled by the dev where we can send minerals to for the anon dev fund, or any other development funding?

indeed.

Minerals team, please update thread topic and post a unique dev fund address for anon implementation donations(both btc and minerals). as our discussion on the topic of anon slows so does investor interest. we have managed to acquire near 3000 min donation in just a few minutes. an updated topic and announcement could really put us on more stable ground while u continue working on e-sports betting. we could now remove the e-sports and anon from the poll and replace it with decentralized exchange features for a future project.

Minerals team. could you update the OP topic to reflect a bounty being raised for anon technologies? it would serve as some good marketting. even if it is you that takes the bounty for the job eventually. but i am in favour of having it done sooner rather than later so that current investors wont get nervous. we need to make it official that anon technology WILL BE IMPLEMENTED in the very near future!
644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - POS. Fair Distribution Cryptocurrency on: June 26, 2014, 09:24:59 PM
I'm all for implementing anonymity. Just gotta deliver betting first Cheesy

But guys, do you have any specific ideas how anonymity should work? Do you have any coin in mind that you think has successfully made its transactions totally anonymous? We could add TOR np, but some people say TOR may cause forks and we don't want that. If someone wish to use proxy to hide his/her IP there's a standard feature that already exists. I think we can easily make the same stuff as PinkCoin has. Would that be useful?

currently im still researching anon technologies. i have some ideas of my own. but i wouldnt mind if we just copy and pasted code from another successful coin with some adjustments and something a bit more secure than tor network. the tor will be entry level anonimity.

my top suggestions atm come from Vericoin and summercoin V2

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=625693.0

this navajo technology from summercoin looks interesting. but they will struggle because of unfair distribution as well as having no real framework. plus their pos interest is high and they have about double our supply.

i am looking at some other implementations.. but i think a tor implementation is the weakest of anon features and so as much as it will gather larger interest from investors it will not achieve it's true potential. quick moves upward in the market for vericoin and darkcoin shows that they are doing something right. we have all that is open source to choose from.

my dev has some suggestions of his own as well, but they are a bit over my head so i am still researching lol

I have a problem with my wallet. I started and have error in file src\kernel.cpp, line 372 . What can i do? Pls , help!

what o/s are you running? if windows 7.. then right click on the minerals-qt.exe and select properties. in properties you will see an option to  "unblock" at the bottom. select it and apply and try launching the wallet again to see if that fixes your problem.
Windows 8.1... In Properties i dont see this option...Sad

ahh ok windows 8.1

go to your appdata folder and backup your "wallet.dat". then delete everything in the folder except your wallet.dat and relaunch the client. make sure you have the latest version and you should be able to launch and resynch fine.

What's the target in donation?

currently, there is no target. but these are just pledges which will show community interest. eventually the pot will get warm enough to attract a dev to take up the project.

we can also advertise for a dev to do the job in the services section of btctalk while our dev works on the e-sports betting. the two will work together in building a solid foundation and liquidity on the markets as we move forward towards merchant adoption.

is it just a coincidence that just discussion of anon project developments comes during a turn around in market behaviour? you decide. i believe as we get closer to implementation we will see more quickly growing interest from investors. Minerals framework and infrastructure has a good future. by implementing the technologies of other successful coins we will be able to compete with them effectively on the market. there is no doubt. anon is a highly demanded feature and not just for illicit trade. but because it is your right to privacy.

i will try to pm all members at least for this portion until someone from minerals team takes over.

ill ask minerals team to create a new wallet address specifically for accepting anon feature requests so we can have transparent accounting.

E-sports betting feature is good but the fact is anonymity implementation is required for a coin to be taken seriously nowadays. Is the developer working on anon too? How much bounty is required?

some say anon feature is becoming a saturated feature in all crypto and getting played out.

i disagree.. i believe it is becoming a standard.
654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - POS. Fair Distribution Cryptocurrency on: June 26, 2014, 08:13:54 PM
Would the community like to prepare a bounty for anon implementation? perhaps we can also tackle it from this angle for soonest results. let's get back to the topic of anon features and see what it does for investment interest.

perhaps we can begin by making pledges to to support anon development and Minerals team can post the current size of the bounty to the OP. bounty pledges should be in minerals or btc.

i will go first with an initial contribution of 100 minerals. i may donate more depending on if needed.

Getting listed on bittrex was a big mistake.

i am indeed wondering if bittrex or some of the pool operators are trying to lower the cost and destroy the value of the coin. let us see how low they are willing to sell. we can start stacking the buy book with buy orders at low prices to set a floor. if people want to giveaway their coins then fine. id do it myself if i had enough btc. but if everyone just puts like .001btc from 1000 satoshi and below we will establish a floor which the manipulators will fear to tread for fear of losing all their coins, their btc and having to do the same again after we re-pump to 2k and beyond. i think this is temporary and the price will rise again. but they cant go to low without making it a giveaway.

the only way to defeat manipulators.. is to buy them out and set back the price at the top with buys. offer some arbitrage opportunities on other exchanges to move volume out of bittrex.

observe the sellbook. there is large gaps in the price. meaning one manipulator is trying to create a panick without losing too many coins.

there is no POS this coin will be slow as blockchain grows with difficulty and increased hash over time. u just cant beat POS for transaction speed.

I would like help and be a backup investor - how much btc is needed?

we are nearing the initial template requirement. this will be the core operation of the coin. im still in the process of negotiating dev fees for the additional features so i don't have a figure yet for what will be needed for those features as development will be tackled in stages up until release. i will list you as a backup investor unless you are ok with me managing the dev fund where i will act as escrow between investors and the dev. agreeing to those terms would make you an initial investor.

This coin has managed to accumulate over 120 Mh/s of CPU processing... that's crazy.

not really. this coin may be asic resistant. but it isnt botnet resistant. and that could turn out pretty bad.
