Good luck with Magicoin i will be around and try to help out where i can. i like Magicoin name and design and just hope to see it gain some new features to attract more investors to add to it's infrastructure.
602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NobleCoin[NOBL] - **NOBL/$USD@VoS**MARKETPLACE/BULLION**52 CHARITIES/MERCHANTS** on: June 27, 2014, 10:39:28 PM
glad to see you're starting to see things this way Rofo. i know it wouldve taken some overcoming of your own perspective to reach this point. the pos will indeed attract new investors and repeats. and we can also think about including anon transactions.

RAZR is gaining such large investment because many people believe in the tor network as a means of anonymity. i unfortunately dont share this view and prefer anon coins which stand on their own mixing and encryption of a transaction's source. basically razr coin's strength can be demolished over night if the tor network becomes compromised. which it already is to a great extent. just many people dont yet know it. anon is a standard now not a hype. together with POS and antiasic mining technologies just about any currency will do much better.

crypto exists for this same reason as anonymity. its the reason i dont know who half the users ohere on btct are, yet still they can pay me for services or make donations. but there are still ways to identify the owners of addresses. this is why anonymity has stretched into different areas of a coin's design. now we have

crypto - releases the need for personal details when performing transactions
ip anon - prevents addresses from being tracked to their  source ipaddress and thus, their internal network.
address mixing - make it even more difficult to find the source of a payment, see how much money is in it, know who the owner is by hacking his computer.. and/or monitoring his spending habits.

all these are basic requirements in the human right to privacy. and hence why they are also becoming a standard like POS.
603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NobleCoin[NOBL] - **NOBL/$USD@VoS**MARKETPLACE/BULLION**52 CHARITIES/MERCHANTS** on: June 27, 2014, 09:42:51 PM
got a question...

what will happen if for a long time, a PoS coin inside the wallet will not be used? i mean, the owner intends to keep the coin as long as possible... does this benefits the owner, the community and the coin?

personally, on my understanding on the laws of economics, in order for a currency to gain value, it must be actively used... now, on my example above, the coin was just hibernating inside the wallet. it was not used as intended...

please share your thoughts... thanks...

Creating money out of thin air will reduce the value of money...debasement. - fiat money like nowadays.

Creating coins out of thin air will have the same effect as the created coins has nothing backing it, i.e POS - no mining. POW has mining so created coins has something backing it - holds it's value.

I disagree with you on this one for sure because your analysis completely ignores the changes that occur with the supply and demand of the coin.  Also there is no difference in what is "backing" the coin. In either scenario you have an amount of capital, whether physical or digital, that is being utilized to hash on the chain.

You have a right to disagree but i'm afraid you are totally wrong. Supply and demand is a market force phenomena to establish a price of a particular good and/or services. The creation of money supply has nothing to do with supply and demand. You need to understand classical economics, especially the work of Ludwig Mises. When a money supply is expanded, it creates inflation. Fiat money creates high inflation as it cost nearly nothing to produce. Money backed by gold has very low inflation because it cost money to get gold out of the ground. The difference between the cost and the selling price of gold is the expansion of money supply.

it's not just that. i sorely hold to any one economic idealogy. especially of those minds from the past. this is the 21st century, we have a more evolved society, and growing minds and cultures and behaviours have changed since those guys time. as much as some old fashioned idealogies may find some areas where they are still accurate today. i dont think that they can be and/or should be looked at as a universal way of seeing things for the rest of humanity's existence. situations change, behaviours change and what was once can no longer survive.

if only it was still so clear cut black and white. plus, as much as we may want to compare mining in the mines to virtual mining. it is my view simply that the value of a currency now, especially in crypto is determined by how many competing sellers there are and how low they are willing to go to extract a different currency for theirs(btc for nobl). basic supply and demand will not drive the value of the currency simply because investors will run out of investment capital and then what do you have to attract new investors??. as i can buy 2.5billion coins out of 3billion but the remaining 0.5billion still may contain undersellers who will push the price back down to the starting point because they didnt get to sell in the first place.. meaning i will continually have to buy to lift the price until i own all 3 billion coins. psychology plays a major role now as many people understand economics and capitalism to a greater extent than the average person did say 100 years ago.

but if noone sells in a market with 10billion coins and all u can find on the market are  .01 fractions to buy at say $3000/coin, then that really does not help the standard supply and demand model. the value of each coin would effectively be $3000, but because noone is selling down the price the demand was allowed to grow. but that doesnt mean there wasnt a large supply. so at the end of the day.. u have to give people something that they are willing to hold on to. very very few people will just buy and allow their investment value to shrink to 1/10 their buy in value without dumping the stock to rebuy lower or invest elsewhere like i have with ltc and doge.

i invested in ltc hoping for it to rise.. but instead it lost 50% value. i dumped it, invested in a coin and received 3 times my ltc value in btc much quicker than waiting for investors to accumulate and build ltc price. it was just the smart thing to do. now if i see fit, i can reacquire my ltc at no loss. but im seeing nothing from them to provide me that interest. so vericoin will now get ltc's investment.

in crypto supply and demand plays a little differently. what is being sent to exchanges is the supply. and what is being held in personal wallets is not. thus simply holding will create scarcity and force buyers to pay higher prices to utilize the services. it requires patience on the part of all investors. individuals who want noblecoin itself will mine it because that is what they want.. but multipools and asics may not have the same view. if users do not want to hold the coin and will continue to sell at sub 20 satoshi even after this coin has shown that investors are willing to pay upward of 200 satoshi then it is an indication that the coin is losing the race to daytraders and others who really dont care about it as earlier investors are pretty much filled up with all they need/want and there is nothing successfully attracting new investors to set the floor at 200satoshi.
604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DISTROCOIN X11 / WALLET UPDATE / DEBIT CARDS SIGNUP / MACOSX WALLET on: June 27, 2014, 09:17:00 PM
Had a great talk with our dev tonight, I am impressed by the long term goals for this coin.
He doesnt care about hyping the price for short term gains, instead he is interested in developing key features to distinguish DIS from the swarm of shitcoins being pumped and dumped daily.
Now is a great time to slowly increase your holdings while confidence is at an all time low.
Someone has been buying 100's of thousands of DIS at 300sat...
I'm sure it's the same guys that spread FUD while dumping at 2k.

I can't see this floor going much lower...decisions decisions.

/end rant

fuly stocked up and tucking these away for the long term

im not yet fully stocked up and i want some updates. lol

any anon interest from raxe.io? pretty good coin. an anon implementation could really spur on additional investors as well as some repeats like myself.

606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Magicoin MAGIC - The MagiCurrency | Merchant now available on: June 27, 2014, 08:59:22 PM
before anyone gets any doubts i am here to help and have been from day one, mining and buying where i can. the reason i like magicoin is simple. im a magi. ;p

magicoin team know that i only make suggestion to help attract investors which i think will benefit us all. so take note of this..

http://minerdesk.com/vaultbreaker-the-worlds-first-500mhs-scrypt-miner/

that's .5btc mining power per day when that gets released. enough to thrash magicoin market at such low volume. magicoin is now a victim of multipools and asics because it was unknowingly one of the most profitable coins to mine in all of crypto for a while. but now it is on the radar and so you will be seeing much more supply. and im sure now u see the need to switch to antiasic/antimultipool algo because supply outweighs demand too greatly even with your infrastructure. multipools dont care about investment potential. they just extract btc at whatever price is available. otherwise known as  "heartless dumping".

so you will see now why you want to avoid asics and multipools with your chosen coin if you want it to thrive in the future. all of scrypt coins are dying because of supply overflowing demand. and the asics just keep getting more powerful. so unless ur currency can generate 100,000 in buy orders per day, playing in a saturated market with saturated technology will lead to "unsatisfying results". if ur market is small, u want to keep supply low, yet profitable.. and the ony way you can do that is choose an algorithm that allows a decently even spread among miners whilst also keeping ridiculous advantage powerhouses off your coin.

just my 2 cents. i would like to work and help to build magicoin with you if you will allow. and reccommend you seek to pursue not only POS but also anon implementation.

anon is not as bad as it sounds. some will say it is just for criminals. but it is more than that. it is about not having your bank balance known to people you pay for services or donate to. it's about not being able to track the original sender's address to see how much money he has at that address on the blockchain and monitor his spending habits. yes it may be used by undesirables for illicit means, but the primary reason is simply the human basic right to privacy of their finances and expenditure. this is why it is much more attractive to large investors. they can buy large amounts and trade etc without having to worry that their wallets may become targets for hackers etc.

edit: underlined above
607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Magicoin MAGIC - The MagiCurrency | Merchant now available on: June 27, 2014, 08:43:19 PM
Why would you do that?
Don't you like Magicoin? Huh

i dont understand. yes i do like magicoin.. but if someone is so stupid to sell down their stock to 20 satoshi i think their coin would be better in my hands. i cant mine scrypt atm so i have to buy. what's wrong with getting a good deal?
608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - POS. Fair Distribution Cryptocurrency on: June 27, 2014, 08:26:58 PM
Galaxy S

i am glad to see even cellphones can get some coin. this is the true sign of a fairly distributed currency. as the infrastructure comes in stages, value will rise over time. just.. backup your wallet.. and dont lose ur fone. if ur lucky in 2 years those 2 minerals will be worth $2000. this is being optimistic of course, so do whatever u think is best for you.
609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NobleCoin[NOBL] - **NOBL/$USD@VoS**MARKETPLACE/BULLION**52 CHARITIES/MERCHANTS** on: June 27, 2014, 07:18:42 PM
feast your eyes on the latest threat to alt-crypto. 500 mh scrypt miner. litecoin is dead.. and so are all other scrypt algo coins by the time this comes out.

http://minerdesk.com/vaultbreaker-the-worlds-first-500mhs-scrypt-miner/
I'll be honest, I doubt they have a substantive tape-out for something that is in that form factor. I'd bank GAW won't have any batches shipped until 2015 at the earliest; KNC just had their tape-out a month ago, so I would expect them to ship out at least a quarter before GAW. Whichever coin has the majority of sCrypt hash power after KNC ships their Titans (most likely Litecoin) won't be affected by these Vaultbreakers. On the other hand, all of the smaller coins will easily be in a world of hurt.

On the bright side, a few of these rigs could easily kill any newly cloned sCrypt coins that come out later this year.

well i was just talking about this earlier in the thread and another user said it would be years before 1gh scrypt asics are released.. from the looks of this im thinking we will hear news of them before the end of the year. so alt-crypto will have to get alot more investment strength or risk getting raped 10x to 10 cents mining profitability per day. u can say i foresaw it and thought i would help noble, which i thought to be a coin with a team with good intentions by suggesting we start making switches to antiasic algorithm to slow daily supply as well as POS to acquire more investment interest. hopefully noblecoin will be able to move with the times and come up with a decent structure to strengthen the value of the currency and get the real ball rolling. as it is Rofo has sadly admitted that the value of noblecoin is suppressed to hide from multipools and their profitability switching. but i think with my suggestions noble will not have to worry about such a thing.

as much as an asic owner will love the idea of getting alot of coins and the greed associated with that. he should consider that any moves, even away from asics will increase the value of his currency. but i guess it's too bad. scrypt crypto is dying a slow death.. the heat output and electricity usage is no longer acceptable. hence users are moving to more efficient and cooler running algorithms. some of which have been compromised. so choose well which algo ur going to employ.

just wanted to help. only have like 100k noble atm and that's because im not currently investing in any scrypt coins. and i think soon others will follow. dumped all my ltc, doge.. i just dont see them coming back up.
610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NobleCoin[NOBL] - **NOBL/$USD@VoS**MARKETPLACE/BULLION**52 CHARITIES/MERCHANTS** on: June 27, 2014, 10:51:59 AM

I don't agree. Litecoin is already being dumped hard and still sustains a good price (although declining). Adding that thing won't make much differnce in amount of coins dumped. (ok, maybe until diff readjustment)

well unless they already have working prototypes that they are currently mining with and 'testing' extensively. it's just the thing i would do as an asic developer. build asic. use it to extract btc value and gain more capital investment to fund my asic business. crypto needs to get more investors because what we have is supply outweighing demand. i so miss the days of .1btc permh per 24hrs mining. we're down to 1/100th that now. 100mh asics?? who knows. but the POS coins are doing well. the anon coins with pos even better. the scrypt mining coins are all being thrashed. just look at crypto. there is not one single rising scryptcoin. even dogecoin hit sub 50 satoshi levels.
611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - POS. Fair Distribution Cryptocurrency on: June 27, 2014, 10:41:24 AM
Shame the Fiat to minerals wasn't up and running,  I'm all out of btc.

Btw,  what is the quickest and safest way to get Fiat into cryptoland?

good question. im going to have to start doing the same considering how shit mining profitability is across the board for me to invest.
612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - POS. Fair Distribution Cryptocurrency on: June 27, 2014, 10:20:25 AM

I understand that
I did previously post that we will be implementing anonymity later on. Its now on OP as well. The poll that I've published here is to determine what path should we take first. Betting is not the only feature that Minerals will have, its just the first one. Anonymity comes next. We will not rest until Minerals is a comfortable coin to use for anyone (should he be large investor or just a gamer who wishes to bet a small amount)

you can rest. just dont go mia for too long on your fans. delays on project timeline are fine i think just as long as investors are notified of the delay and reason. as youd have seen.. crypto relies heavily on the dev's activity as they tend to just bugger off and leave everyone hanging as they scramble to reconstruct the community without a dev and save the coin.

i was involved in one such venture myself. cashcoin. dev was very infrequent to respond. and all the while, just feeding us tidbits while he was actually cashing out his premine and all his mined coins at the highest price point. he then just abandoned the community without a word and it never recovered.

there are many stories like that here in crypto. hence why it is important to drop a line for ur supporters i would say at least once a day with an update or just to say hello, a bit of chitchat etc. when you have a good community and u are a working dev the community will take care of you.
613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - POS. Fair Distribution Cryptocurrency on: June 27, 2014, 10:13:13 AM
Can I suggest a service like http://www.altaccept.com/ Incorporated into the wallet or website.

Extremely easy to do and will allow Fiat transactions direct to Minerals for all those gamers out there.

Not bad not bad.

it does sound like a useful venture. would be cool also to be able to buy sc gamecodes with minerals as i have to buy a few for me and my buddies to start training for the tourneys  Tongue
614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - POS. Fair Distribution Cryptocurrency on: June 27, 2014, 09:37:38 AM
they are pumping jackpot now, it's normal, when jackpot will fade away after hitting mintpal, they will return on something else, same story everytime...

theyre also pumping supercoin with it's anon implementation. yep.. supercoin is now at 12k. i guess u guys dont like money here at minerals.

I don't want to just pump and promise something that I'm not going to deliver. In order to announce anonymity feature we should all agree on how exactly should it work.

well of course we'd want it delivered?!? that's why we were raising a bounty. i stopped promoting the bounty else im sure itd be over 10k min by now. as i explained. u must choose one of the methods that conceals a sender's address from the recipient. there are a variety of ways to achieve this. just pick a successful coin and copy and paste the anonimizing code. all that is really important to investors is that their personal wealth and value is not published to everyone they send a payment or donation to. it doesnt necessarily have to be unique. but it needs to be reasonably successful at that concealment.

- crypto coins and wallets hide one's identity in that they dont need to publish their personal details to make a purchase

- tor anonymizing hides the sender's ip address so his computer cannot be tracked through the nodes

- transaction anonymizing stops advertising his wealth to everyone he interacts with. you dont go telling strangers how much money you have in your bank account do you? or publicize your bank balance? its the same thing applies.

if we provide such feature, larger investors can take the coin more seriously.

noone wants to mine forever. u should add POS% to this coin it will help.
616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / All scryptcoin will die if they do not move to anti-asic algos on: June 27, 2014, 08:13:41 AM
the reason litecoin and other scryptcoins are totally unprofitable can be blamed on mass amounts of btc extraction from powerful hashing processors. you can bet your last buck that dogecoin.. litecoin and all are suffering now.. due to owners of these companies using their gear to mine before offering it up for sale to the public. not even 5mh asics can compete anymore and are a waste of money.

just can u imagine someone building these and mining with a small farm of 10 or say 20? every scrypt compatible stock will crash as they greedily and selfishly cashout. crypto will have to move away from scrypt algo and create new coins which are antiasic capable for their stocks to thrive on the markets.

what will happen??
well eventually all the asic minable coins will be made bare of investment and die and the asics will have nothing to mine. meaning they will have to create more asic minable coins to pillage with.

for every algorithm that is compromised by asics.. gpus will no longer get a fair share and distribution will be horribly lopsided to those with the power houses.

i possess the only solution that will allow both types of technology to thrive for many years to come. a currency with a detailed roadmap towards worldwide adoption. it consists of the most powerfully fair distribution process i could think of to date. and is legions ahead of the thinking of today's cryptocoin makers of which the majority are just made by dev's copy and pasting code for a quick buck.
