Look at the situation if you were the hacker. You would have NXT that you cannot spend. To deposit any of it in other exchanges would expose your identity. The other exchange would then embargo the account and notify Bter. The blockchain will also expose any transfer of the NXT.
Any purchase made with the stolen NXT would be traceable to the hacker as well.
He is stuck. He can only stall for time and hope Bter pays.
Frankly, I dont think the hacker should be rewarded for his crime. They should reset the blockchain and then offer a reward for his head, or fingers.
and what about mgw?

Wow, im just amazed at the amount of confidence people here have in BTER. I too am heavily invested in XCR and would lose alot if BTER ran. I however have factored this into my decision and am well aware that there is, in my opinion, A HIGH probability BTER runs.
Considering all the red flags already and the amount of money they have lost, it would be ridiculous to side in confidence with bter at this point. I hope all goes well but you guys are way overestimating an exchange that remains mostly anonymous out of china and will have no regulatory repercussions if they run away with everyone's money. With that being said I have much more confidence in the devs not running than the exchange at this point in time. Devs have proven to be competent and trustworthy. A few hickups here and there but minute compared to bter.. geesh.
I agree to wait on BTER but don't fool yourselves, there is high risk involved in this situation.

Great - so no product and no money back! Great decision making Again, it appears people are misunderstanding the severity of the situation BTER finds itself in. They will not survive this. So, they will either be extremely honest and give the XCR team their (our) money - or they will take off with it. I would still love to hear the devs backup plan in case of a complete heist of the 750 btc that BTER holds. Would it be game over? Why cant CRYPTI devs just demand the escrow from BTER and be done with them? Everyone in the community would vote in favor of that.
Not true. I would vote against it. Devs don't get the BTC until they've delivered a product. That was the deal. Enough deals have changed since the original announcement. Yes people seem to think bter running is completely out of the equation. It is a huge probability at this point. Essentially were banking on good faith from bter.

Without getting all dramatic.
Bter is done for - they will not get the 45 million NXT back and they have already said they cannot cover these losses.
So, I'm very concerned about the XCR launch now.
Devs need to take control of the 750 BTC under BTERs control NOW/ASAP. The amount of negligence shown by BTER is staggering - full details will scare people on here who don't seem to grasp the severity of the situation. The exchange is going under IMO. This will all happen fast and who knows if there will then be time to wrestle the 750btc from their dead hands.
We need a plan from the devs regarding this - they must have planned for such a situation. Well, now it has HAPPENED. If the 750 btc is gone what then? If it's not gone yet, get them away from Bter as soon as humanly possible.
Bter suffered a loss of 45 million NXT and 112 BTC + had another 500,000nxt that did not exist traded today because of further incompetence. They have already stated that the NXT losses alone would make them unable to pay out.
Why cant CRYPTI devs just demand the escrow from BTER and be done with them? Everyone in the community would vote in favor of that. However this may encourage them running as they were banking on CRYPTI volume support. Best option hold off till the 18th like they stated then take further action if necessary.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT is DeaD < smart money where to now ? ? >

ok now that NxT is obviously dead for good (-30% on price today alone) + hacker owns and plays w/ 5% of the network --> price will go lower than low in weeks to come as anyone with brains can tell, where do smart people put their smart money? Bitshares?
im sorry for the NxT which was #1 candidate for best crypto project but this was too much. the losses realized during NexT days are gonna make a lot of people sad to the core and even tho im not invested i am sad about this too. too many good people lost their money bcuz of 1 bad guy. a true drama also for bter (bankrupt). fuck the one whos responsible for this. karma will get her/him/it.
greetz from Ukraine to all fans ! never keep money on exchanges and keep eyes open !
~CfA~
Lol why would be NXT dead, if instead of Bter, now some other guy owns 50 millions? What difference should that make to anyone? if someone steal my euros, euro will not be dead. i just lost my euros. or if someone stole my potatoes or gold or horses. I dont have them, tief have them. What he stole, will not be impacted, if owner change. The 50mill NXT was not BTERs, it belonged to many individuals in the NXT community! So now a huge portion of the NXT community is alienated, and 1 thief has the power to drop a megaton bomb on the market. NXTs done for.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Moderated Thread - NCC Is Now Open Source[Updates & Discussion]

I would remove all NEMstake SELL orders as the NXT thief may use it as a gateway to cashout of NXT.
i dont think thats doable some how.. removal of orders will only drive price higher and then entice others to sell for the higher price.. as long as there are legitimate orders.. there will be a market. if he put in buy orders of 100k nxt per nem stake.. people will sell.. The "hacker" could list buy orders offering 500K NXT and I still wouldn't sell and neither would most of us. Especially after the repeating fiasco with NXT, from the brute forcing of wallets in 2013, when the distribution became known, the prior exchange thefts, DGEX thefts, John Manglotivetti, Blue Meanie, Klee's Hacker, Txt Coins now and this current BTer fiasco - no way I am exchanging my valuable NEM for worthless NXT. If I have to give credit to NXT is their somehow magical ability to sweep all the bad things which happened under the rug and people are none the wiser (the ones who know.. Stockholm Syndrome?) That and their second magical ability is spamming the NEM thread with their CfA / CfB / Wtf his name sock account. Which is exactly why people should remove there sell orders as the value of NXT at this point in time is unknown.

Here look me and SyRenity PM'd about this back on July 28th... trust me the Devs are and where prepared for this just like I was... Things can happen it's all about being ready if they do... I'm not going to post our whole convo on here... believe me or not.. Devs where ready for this just incase OK i'm sure you guys have thought this through.. But what if Bter "goes down" like a Mt. Gox... How would we ever trace back who traded what... I'm not sure how good your relationship is with Bter and don't want to give any ideas to anyone... which is why I PM'd you... At this point I can prove (somewhat) by a screen shoot of my Bter account and the ledger what I own... well both those could be faked for sure... but if for any reason Bter wants to sabotage crypti or if they get a high volume of BTC from crypti.. I would just hate to see them "get hacked" or pretend to get hacked or some other BS...
This just may be me way too paranoid... I'm sure the amount of BTC they would lose from a silly stunt... like trying to screw crypti... would be not enough to do anything... but I just thought I would weigh in...
I personally don't think I will be trading early... but I see you guys had to do this before someone really got scammed trying to trade Tokens on there own...
I can't wait to see how the next few weeks play out!!!!
Wow good foresight.

On a side note .. Anyone know why BTC network is so slow right now?
If you mean slow to confirm transactions, it may be because of the big miners. Transactions are supposed to be confirmed by the miners, but the amount earned from that was far less than using the hash power to mine. Most of the big miners are filtering out the confirm requests in order to goose their success rate on mining. It`s been almost an hour and not 1 confirmation... wtf? Strange no? Your own wallet, or a wallet on an exchange? Check the blockchain. You might not be updating, but still confirming Sending from my wallet to my NEW BTER wallet. Still unconfirmed after 1 hour.
