Interesting...it looks like they removed stablecoins from dominance calculation on CMC-bitcoin is showing 61.6% currently (jumped from 44-45%)

I like the concept of 'laying flat'..
"It describes young people’s preference to lay flat on a couch or floor rather than working hard to make a living."

CCP and people like E. Warren will cause generational apathy.

In a long term, maybe 100 years, China will be another USSR or worse.
However, right now this s-t might cause some block delay..until the difficulty adjustment happens.

What happened? Elon adopting bitcoin again?  Tongue

Obviously the bitch Elon is back to town…

Looks like Ukraine is currently going to town with the Netherlands  Cheesy
Watch if you can.

It went downhill after Ronald Koeman left for Barcelona.

Frank de Boer is an idiot, great former player bad trainer.

Missing de Ligt and Virgil is also a huge disappointment.

Exit-door asap.

I hope belgium will win this tournament, they deserve it.

Edit: LoL 3-2 Lucky win.

Thinking the same, especially the coaching skills of De Boer…. And indeed there defense is a bit ruined whiteout there best central defenders

But I do really hope for Belgium as well in this tournament, they deserve it.

I did not see the first game..did De Bruyne already recover from his skull fracture?
Obviously, Hazard can do a decent passing job to Lukaku, but Kevin is a special player.

F-k Elon and his small-overpriced Tesla.
Who is a bigger hypocrite than him?
Talking about electricity usage by miners when his car gobbles electricity made mostly from oil/coal.
This guy should piss off.

A rule of thumb: Loud guys are idiots most of the time.

are you referring to me? I am not THAT loud.

I kind of got tired of this mini-bear (so far).
What is Mr. Market waiting for? G-7?

One of them wants to show me how magnets stick to their arm now.  Wish I was making it up

I am sorry, but he is full of s-t, you can tell him that your friend who has PhD in Biology with 20+ year experience in genetics told you so.
However, if his arm is sweaty, a magnet very well might stick, but it is a property of water (high surface tension) and not any "magnetizing".
Superstition squared.

That's exactly what I thought and intended to call BS as well. So, you know anything about magnetofection? Source looks valid and they're talking the same language (mrna) but I'm not Biology savvy.

Without understanding this rabbit hole, here's another which at least speaks a little of my language.

'Conspiracy' peeps are looking to connect dots with the soon to be 5G tech for a narrative. Would love to tell them to blow it out their ass but it seems wiser to remain objective for now.

yes, there is such thing as magnetic nanoparticles and there is (or rather was since it was not used much since) a method of transfection (introduction of DNA into cells) by USING a magnet and such nanoparticles. In practicality, 100 microliters (0.1 ml) of injection, EVEN if it were those particles (they are not!) could not make anyone magnetized due to the dilution effect (by a factor of 1:50000, counting only blood volume and nothing else).

TL;DR: magnetic nanoparticles are for the use of magnets in cell transfection, nothing else. Using them for mRNA vaccines makes no sense as nobody is being asked to go through a gigantic magnet afterwards, are they?

Bitcoin ends governments and it makes sense that the IMF would not want to invest in a country that will have a much smaller government in the future.

Agree, this is the gist of the story. And yes, residency program would bring people, although I am not sure how many countries you can visit with a passport from El Salvador (at least right now). Only those second citizenship programs that allow for widely accepted non-visa travel are successful.

I wonder if any European countries would do that at some point. Of course, you can only make a decision based on a current info, but they can always pull a rug from under you by changing some rules or laws. Puerto Rico did that recently (increasing the yearly cost by 50%) and USVI did it beforehand.

Overall, though, if (or rather when) bitcoin would be successful on a large scale, countries would compete for bringing bitcoin wealth to their area, I have little doubt about that.

M. Saylor move...wow, but they are SENIOR notes and HIGH YIELD (aka "junk") at 6.125% interest.
6.125% interest on 500mil is 30.625 mil yearly interest. MSTR has only 81 mil EBITDA.
Basically, it is an "all in" kind of move.
Senior bondholders are in a pole position to get everything the company holds in a hypothetical case of a company going bankrupt...for example by not being able to service it's debts.

Next earnings report will be not good:
"The Tysons Corner, Virginia-based company said in a filing Monday that it’s taking a roughly $284.5 million charge during its next earnings report due to losses related to fluctuations in the price of the digital asset. That amounts to more than the company’s cumulative earnings since 2011."

Hopefully, WS would treat it as one-off.
This is potentially dangerous for the long term company survival, UNLESS he has some ace up his sleeve, and maybe he has, at least i hope so.

El Salvador gives us a preview of the next cycle or countries buying BTC. 2013 - geeks, 2017 - retail, 2021 - institutions, 2025 - countries!  Cool

it does not...for that we need to see countries like Denmark, Netherlands or even better, Switzerland, doing the same.

I think this is all china.

... you might be onto something here. Looks like Musk might be kneeling down to suck Chinese Commie dick too
... Tesla was getting hammered in China until he started his anti-bitcoin tweeting

https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/tesla-shares-jump-3-after-china-made-vehicle-sales-rise-29-may

Interesting, indeed.
China gave miners and traders two months time to tear down their crypto businesses, or it's going to jail for them, according to unofficial (chinese) source.
I wouldn't be too surprised if the dumping goes on until two months after the chinese mining ban announcement.

EDIT:
China was early in the game, so 4-figures are rumored by some. Too bad i can't read chinese and my hongkong buddie is occupied by working like a dog to keep his job at his US-based business office (building).

If only our local idiots could comprehend that the very fact that China is against bitcoin should be an indication for them to support bitcoin instead of harping some bs about it.
China is obviously trying to replace dollar with yuan. Bitcoin is in a way as a potential alternative, so they gang up on it first. US and rest of the West and east should support bitcoin and resist yuan.
Bitcoin and dollar do not really compete (not yet).

It is clear that the shorting bitmex, binance, etc. dump groups are in haste to make one more long squeeze before MicroStrategy starts buying. This is the last pathetic attempt of the bears to fool the world that Bitcoin is in a bear market. Having said that, the morons who put high leverage long positions have been slaughtered. On Bitmex only over $30 mil have been liquidated in the last 12 hours. I really don't understand why those guys prefer to lose their money by long positions instead of just buying and hodling for several years. The question is how much did it cost the shorters to squeeze those longs. They may not be in profit at all, considering that their coordinate dump is not joined by many. At least the spot exchange inflow is continuing to decline, which shows that neither STH, nor LTH have any interest to sell at these prices. On the contrary, nobodiy is scared and the accumulation continues. I am so well prepared for any attempt to bring the price below 30K, so no worries at all! Bring it on, bears and better hurry to cash out your shorts, because your greed will be punished if you don't do it. I want to see several billions $s short massacre on all derivate exchanges, and it will happen soon! Die shorts, die! And longs, FFS, go to spot exchanges and just buy and hodl!!!  Grin Grin Grin

My general policy is not to buy a declining market, but if there will be a large scale capitulation event, then maybe it will be worth a shot to have a bigger buy.
I won't care to name the number at which I would be enticed to proceed, maybe will go with a gut feeling if I have time...being swamped at work right now.

BTW..the current poll likely to have a typo as 7-19(!) mo is preceding 9-12 mo. In any case...it is what it is.

I invest in bitcoin mostly for ideological reasons, but have to say that since Dec 2017 (last ATH), bitcoin underperformed FAANG and almost all of those stocks with the exception of FB outperformed btc by a factor of about 2X. MSFT also outperformed during this time period.
It has NOT been 2X a year since Dec 2017, no sireee.

This might hurt our/your feelings, but it is what it is..and some people in bitcoin are starting to get on my nerves, especially Max Keiser...what a douche.

Jack Mallers Announces El Salvador Bitcoin Adoption
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uGOfqN2y9k

Watch it in case you have any doubts about the future of Bitcoin. Worrying about the ticker price can sometimes almost be embarrassing. Bitcoin is hope.

Edit:

It's a good news, but, come one, will they listen to such straight reason? I doubt it.
They are already perfectly fine with a cacophony of bitcoin classifications by each of the multiple agencies involved.

It feels like a bear market. Maybe (hopefully) a local one.

Not predicting anything, but a continuation of this would be similar to $6.5K 'flat' that fooled everybody in 2018.
It ended with almost vertical decline from $6.K to $3.1K where we had capitulation. "Math and science" $ for $ comparison would stipulate $17-20K bottom if this scenario plays out. Probability: imho, 30-50%. The rest (50-70%): we would just scrape some bottom (hopefully, above 30K) and slowly (at first ) turn around and proceed to some ATH.

Why do I have the same feeling (of 2018 deja vu):
a. We have a few very large, but very iffy holders (starting with Musk, maybe PTJ, even Novo).
b. We have another large holder (M. Saylor), who bought one large tranche too high and did not buy it using cash. Instead, he borrowed money. Ideologically, he is a hodler, but we don't know if he had any debt covenants. Hopefully, none. His average is about 24K. I believe that he would hold even if we get there and below, but who knows.
c. Wall street absolutely loves when someone takes a known leveraged position and they are able to hammer such entity with a down move, trying to force a liquidation sale.

EDIT: Of course, S2F and the fact that we never went below prior ATH in a bear market gives credence to an argument that it is not likely. We shall see.

35 is a "magic" number.
Before 35 whatever you eat "magically' disappears and you don't really gain weight.
After 35 you need to watch out, otherwise you might gain 1lb/year and the weight creeps up in a difficult to notice fashion (because is is so slow), yet in 10 years it might be 10lb extra.

Once you gain that 4-5 kilos (10 lb), it is quite difficult to shake it off as when you try, your body "thinks" that you are starving and starts to switch into more "economical" mode and the weight stays. Dieting typically does not work long term as people relapse.

Is market manipulation a crime in the U.S.?

<snip>this guy is a f***ing douchebag.

1. it depends. I don't think someone posting bitcoin doodle next to the broken heart image could be construed as such.
2. he only cares about himself and his lofty ideas. bitcoin is a play thing.

however, the person who throws s-t against the wind might end up smelling not too good.
