361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [BBR] Boolberry Speculation on: October 02, 2015, 06:59:19 PM

Maybe we should speculate on the importance of SuperNet to Boolberry. How much do you think it matters?

I speculate that Supernet will have nothing to do with BBR's success or failure as a cryptocurrency.  While I was an early proponent of Supernet I have since become disillusioned with the project.  If it eventually succeeds and does what it promised many many months ago then great.  Currently I am not following nor do I care to follow the Supernet saga that is apparently still ongoing.  BBR did receive an initial pump when it was announced that it would be included in the Supernet platform but that has since evaporated just as the initial value of Supernet has declined significantly from it's initial pricing.

BBR suffers from the same problem that all cryptonote coins suffer from.  It's not bitcoin compatible and not easily incorporated into any of the current cryptocurrency payment processing schemes.  Until a legitimate payment processor devotes the time and resources necessary to accept cryptonote coins, nothing is going to change as far as adoption is concerned.

kcanup - Most of BTCLend customers bought LendCoin for $2, but some coins were given away to customers; they earned them for using BTCLend. Some of those customers are selling cheaper. I think it's a great time to invest, because soon all of these coins that were given away will be sold and the price will stay above $2.

Wow. Such pump. Much floor.

http://www.coindesk.com/gaw-miners-paycoin-disappearing-20-floor/

Currently at 0.07113% of $20.  Some people lost lots of money.  I didn't lose a dime because these scams are easy to spot and avoid.

suchmoon - I'm cmilian's son. I am doing this to help me, LendCoin investors, and the future of cryptocurrency.

If you wanted to help the future of cryptocurrency you wouldn't be promoting this scam.

No it isn't a good time to invest and no it won't stay above $2.

First altcoin. Please give constructive criticism!

I will be first

NO SOURCE UPLOADED

Also this "First altcoin" sounds like you are going to make lots of them and scam as much as possible
what's a source? I'm a total noob at this sorry! Haha

Thought I'd seen it all.
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TOUCH - Crypto's answer to Android and Apple Pay, Exponential Rewards on: September 28, 2015, 03:53:43 PM
When does the ICO start?

Our launch was postponed 4-5 hours. We found the problem and are now fixing everything we need to properly launch again.

Edit: Saul found us on twitter and showed a lot of interest in our project since the beginning. He's a trader but we'll listen to him if we ever need his advice though (he has more experience in the cryptosphere than us).

Are you serious?

Why wouldn't it be serious? We immediately jumped on board, it's good to have someone experienced as a resource!

Nice try.  You might fool some people but you're definitely not fooling me so don't waste your time trying.

Anyone with a brain knows what I'm talking about.  Those that don't deserve to lose their money.  You can't fix stupid. That's all I have to say.

Also it is 100% obvious that you and the account saulcryptoman are the same person. But you mislead everyone by offering a fake BTC "bounty"  to quote the post. You messed up by accidently posting "we are looking into this" from the Saul account before quickly erasing it. This is stepping into scam territory already.

I saw that as well.

368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XUP] | UPcoin | Dramatically Decreasing Supply | 6week lifespan | IPO on: September 16, 2015, 06:47:53 PM
The unique idea is its a 6week coin?
No, rapidly decreasing supply, up to 20% per week.

lower supply = higher price

of course we will continue to maintain the coin after the 6 weeks, but the initial supply cut will last 6 weeks.

It's already been proven with numerous coins that lower supply does not necessarily equal higher price.  A lower supply of something that's worth nothing is still just a lower supply of nothing.
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - Fair Launch, No ICO, Community DAO, based on Ethereum on: September 15, 2015, 06:57:43 AM
It's amazing! first tokens sold for 0.15 BTC and now someone is selling for 0.0025BTC, that's just crazy!

Why is it amazing?  .15 btc is completely ridiculous.  Ethereum is selling for 0.00386489 BTC.

Ethereum also has a 15 second block time, not 60 seconds

What does block time have to do with the adoption of a platform that isn't usable except for the few geeks that think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread?

The average person can't use this platform.  There is no easy path to adoption.  People are mocking those that can't figure out how to mine it.  Why would anyone use this platform when an easy to use cryptocurrency already exists and is accepted as payment at many locations?  Yes bitcoin.  I can buy laptops and patio furniture right now with bitcoin.  And it's easy.  Online wallet, enter amount, click send.  Or my preference, local wallet and blockchain.

I'm not fudding this coin.  I'm just pointing out some facts.  If you want this to succeed you're going to need to do something more than just copy some platform that hasn't proven to be viable.  But good luck with your endeavor.  I'll be watching from the sidelines.

Let mine some for fun Smiley
Maybe can buy some exclusive file with this Smiley
Something wrong with the source ?
Can't start my node for for it.
Any 2 leveldb ?
Which one should we use ?

Yes there is a problem with the source.  It needs to be addressed asap.

372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Demoncoin Release on: September 12, 2015, 04:04:59 PM
I like this part:

"Will Demoncoins make me rich???

Not at all! demoncoin is intentionally developed as a coin that has allmost no chance of becoming valuable what so ever. I will be highly supprised if it ever has any value at all."

What?  You're not going to replace bitcoin?  You're not going to the moon?  You don't have fancy graphics, roadmaps, and grandiose plans of instant wealth?  You don't have some convoluted asinine scheme that will never work but is compelling enough to draw in the naive?  No ico?  No premine?

You know what?  This coin is as good as any of the pump and dump scams that have launched in the last couple of weeks.  You know the ones that put some btc in the pockets of a few and leave the rest of those foolish enough to invest in standing there with a bag full of worthless coins.  I find it refreshing and in fact i'm mining it right now.  It has absolutely no value at this point so there is nothing to lose.  I'll mine it for awhile.
373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XTV]Tavos | CPU/GPU | Coin for the Masses | CryptoNote on: September 12, 2015, 03:06:36 PM
Tavos removed from the voting list https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Home/Voting
and DOT coins returned  to the balance
why?

I would guess that they are not going to be incorporating cryptonote coins into their trading platform due to it's incompatibility with their current platform and the work required is not really worth their effort.  But I could be wrong.  You could always ask them yourself.  They would likely give you an answer.

Yes, we have confirmed this.
We've talked to SouthXChange and Pairex (in development) to add Tavos
into their exchanges

Poloniex, Bittrex, and Cryptsy all currently support cryptonote coins on their exchange but are the most difficult to get listed on.  Regardless, those would be your best options for exchanges as it is unlikely that other exchanges are going to go through the trouble of adding cryptonote at this time.  Poloniex has an XMR/Monero exchange where other cryptonote coins like Dashcoin, Infinitecoin, Moneta, and DigitalNote are traded against XMR/Monero instead of bitcoin.  That would be the best place for this coin because of the coin supply.  Unfortunately Poloniex is very difficult to get listed on.   Good luck on getting listed somewhere.

Good coin, looking forward to the emergence of the mine pool

What's good about it?  The fact that there was no source code released for over 12 hours and during that time it was being instamined?

If you look at my previous posts in this thread you will see that I was posting getinfos that showed that the difficulty didn't change for over 1000 coins.

105350 coins or more than 5% mined by the dev in about 24 hours.

There is nothing good about this coin.

377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BBR] Boolberry: Privacy and Security - Guaranteed[Bittrex/Poloniex]GPU Released on: September 11, 2015, 07:06:40 PM

Hi Folk!

We (Clintar and me) made some db code, which seems to work fine. (we made some tests on clintar's backend).
This code take part of blockchain data (blockchain.bin) and store it in leveldb database. Is things gonna be ok we'll move the rest of data into leveldb database.

Anyone who interested to reduce memory usage in Boolberry daemon, could try to use code from "db" branch for test.

Thanks for any feedback.

Zoidberg

PS: Many thanks to Clintar for helping, supporting and even coding Boolberry!

Great news!  Will test it out.

I wouldn't even think about it without looking at the source first and you haven't provided a link to the source.  And neither should anyone else.

Somebody's been busy mining
