shojayxt I had a good day today and I`ve unignored you ...... for 15sec.

We don`t need to find out what's going on with nicehash!  You didn't get your payment!?

Nicehash does not pay for anybody, it is a proxy only!

Only enforcment will put them down with orphans.

Don`t ask again about them.

Be happy that Camo didin`t respond you at your question Tongue

Camo say's that he's not coming back :-(

Camo also said that the new Qt is corrupting wallets - -
I have not been able to review his claim(s) yet since I'm at work right now - ugh

If you haven't had time to review his claims then why are you even posting about them?  All you're doing is spreading a rumor at this point.  If I had said that the new QT was corrupting wallets there would be a dozen posts calling me a fudster, etc...  Regardless if I was just quoting someone else or not.

Since nobody has been having this issue other than an individual that suffers from extreme emotional issues and is likely under the influence of drugs it would be wise to take anything they say with a grain of salt and wait until you could verify their claims before repeating things that you yourself admit to not reviewing.

For the record, I have not experienced any corruption to any wallet with the latest QT.

Hmm, I didn't know about nicehash.  If I choose to ask about them again I will.  And I would enjoy a reply from camo.  I always enjoy a good laugh.

Keep enjoying your day.
1003  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: October 25, 2014, 08:04:52 PM
When I first got involved in crypto there were 69 currencies listed on coinmarketcap with a total market cap of $ 13,890,378,655  https://web.archive.org/web/20140104141936/http://coinmarketcap.com/

Is it rational to expect the moon though, when only one out of 69 currencies, and now only one out of >545 currencies and a few assets has actually delivered?

He's saying that he got involved at the top of the market and Bitcoin certainly hasn't "delivered" what he is looking for which is high and increasing prices. So that would be 0/69 at this point.

Get involved at the top of any market and things will look bleak later from that perspective. Quite understandable.

I may have gotten in at the top of the market but I never put anything into it.  I got extremely lucky with some of the coins I mined early.  Most notably Darkcoin and then Bitmonero.  So even in a shrinking market I have done extremely well.

My point in posting those figures for the growth in currencies while the market cap shrunk was to show the amount of money that has left crypto even though there was an explosion of altcoins offering everything anyone could ever want.  It had nothing to do with my expectations because I didn't have any.

1005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency (mandatory upgrade) on: October 25, 2014, 07:16:43 PM
If any cryptocurrency wants to be around in three years then it needs to offer something people want and it needs to offer it now.  If it doesn't it won't be around in three years, monero included.

Telling people it might take three years is like shooting yourself in the foot.  People aren't going to do that.  They are already losing patience as proven by the recent selling.  People want results now.  That's just a fact of life.

Monero is currently almost exclusively owned by people with a horizon of 3 years or more, as was Bitcoin 3 years ago.

Last time the owners were richly rewarded, let's see this time.

It is?  Then why all the selling and people complaining about the price?

If you use the history of bitcoin to justify holding any new cryptocurrency you'll end up holding worthless coins in three years.  What worked for bitcoin or the history of bitcoin will never be repeated.  But good luck.

Nobody is expecting history to be repeated. But the idea that it takes time (years) to build something truly useful has nothing to do with history. Anything but a pump-and-dump takes more than a few months to build. People need to come up with useful ideas, organize, and build them out. That takes time. Some of that is already ongoing. If you can't wait you are in the wrong place.

I'm in the wrong place?  Where should I be?

All I'm saying is that you have a window of opportunity and it's much less than three years.  I'm not one of those complaining about price.  I'm just stating what I think is a widespread sentiment regarding altcoins in general.  Why would someone wait three years when bitcoin already exists?  In three years bitcoin could very well have incorporated all the features that all these altcoins claim to offer or will offer.  Time is not on Monero's or any altcoins side.  But I guess we'll all know in a few years.

Anything less than 3 years to measure success just wastes your time and gives bad results

I disagree.  It might have taken bitcoin years before it had any value but the landscape has changed.  Three years to measure success is ridiculous.  Cryptocurrencies are no longer just some geeky experiment like bitcoin was when it started.  The foundation has been poured.  Those building on that foundation will need to move quickly or get left behind.  Bitcoins history is just that.  To be successful going forward, a cryptocurrency will need to rapidly deploy features people want, create an infrastructure that will support it, and users willing to adopt it.  If a currency doesn't accomplish those things it will go nowhere.

I think one of the reasons for the exodus out of altcoins is that people have been speculating on the next bitcoin.  It's become apparent to many that the majority of all altcoins are just quick schemes to make money.  They all promise this and that, new features coming, etc...  None of the promises have come true.  None of the altcoins have succeeded in gaining any significant adoption and most likely none of them will.

Why are human always acting almost irrational when it comes to economics?

Humans are irrational.  But in this case it's warranted.

I forgot to add this in my previous post.

When I first got involved in crypto there were 69 currencies listed on coinmarketcap with a total market cap of $ 13,890,378,655  https://web.archive.org/web/20140104141936/http://coinmarketcap.com/

There are now 545 currencies with a market cap of $ 5,192,835,057.

789% more currencies worth 37% of what 69 were worth January 8th 2014.

All of these currencies offered the moon but delivered nothing.  Why should people think any different of Monero or any other coin?  One thing is for sure, nobody's going to wait three years.

Bitcoin overall is going down and down. I even read a post on the general disussion bitcoin thread about one of those early adopters turning away from btc and into alts....

maybe alts should start having USD/EURO/CNY pairings for altcoins, instead of being paired with btc, As bitcoins pretty much bringing down the price on all alts atm, and im tired of alts being tied to btc.

If that happen will be bad for alts at least on short term.
I am sure there are many investors, that invest in alts so much since they believe that if bitcoin will raise x10 in USD price all alts will also. If there would not be this believing, many would pull out part of majority of  their investments.

Thats exactly what happening.  People have been pulling money out of alts into bitcoin for months.  Now they are moving out of bitcoin into fiat.  Many people have made significant profits.  You can't spend altcoins so you need to turn it into fiat via bitcoin to buy that single malt scotch, new car, kitchen remodel, etc...  Some people have made tremendous amounts of money.  They want to enjoy it not watch it shrivel away.

I enjoyed his post, and enjoyed the video a great deal. Would be a shame if he got twisted up about it. Maybe he needs some therapeutic murdering animal time, let the blood flow, and then get back to setting up the masternodes we need.

Looks like Camo might be serious :-(

Big dump, and then big pump!

These very big sells (> 10 BTC), is it some miner dude selling all his coins in packages? Doesn't seem reasonable to sell all these coins at once... a slow going sell procedure usually comes with a higher average price. Weird situation.. who's that dude?

No.  It's speculative dumping of one form or another.  Plenty of people have very short time-horizons and little tolerance for low prices.

There is a significant amount of wealth going back into fiat.  People are cashing out altcoin-btc-fiat.  It's not isolated to XMR.  Many people think btc will go down significantly and are getting out for now.

I haven't updated my MN to the latest version yet, but I have to manually (re)start my MN at least once every day. Could this be caused because I'm running an older (v10.14.x) version? Anyone?

Why are you wasting your time restarting old versions? Update to 10.15.16 and have done with it.

Yes just upgrade.

Can someone help me please?

I get this error

"inbound port is not open. Please open it and try again. (19999 for testnet and 9999 for mainnet)"

when i use masternode start PASSPHRASE

You have to open PORT 9999 on the server

what command do I have to input?

Depends on your firewall setup. I like ufw, here's how easy it is:
Code:
sudo ufw allow ssh/tcp
sudo ufw allow 9999/tcp
sudo ufw logging on
sudo ufw enable
sudo ufw status

You should change the default ssh port

Some people just don't have the intelligence or mental capability to perform simple tasks so they lash out in anger at anyone and everyone.

It has nothing to do with intelligence or mental capability, more with how too much drugs and bitches will mess with your mind.
Everybody relax, camosoul will have his act together in short time.

Abusing your body with drugs is a lack of intelligence.

Edit:

I should show some compassion.  Drug addiction is a sad thing.  Unfortunately it usually gets worse as time goes on.  If drugs are what's causing this erratic behaviour then I wish them the best at beating those demons.

WARNING, [RANT] - If you don't fucking like it, don't fucking read it.

Well I had to read it to assess whether I liked it or not.

And now that I've ingested such a toxic venomous spew session by a very very very unhappy and sad little fellow let me just say this:

I followed Tao's guide (get it here https://darkcointalk.org/threads/taos-masternode-setup-guide-for-dummies.2680/#post-25672) and found it to be relatively straight forward. I had a masternode setup within a short time and I've since followed his guide a few times to upgrade darkcoind too. All without too much difficulty.

I'm not sure what you're expecting. There are steps you need to follow and tools (like PuTTY) you need to use. It's not terribly difficult but does require some patience and willingness to work through each step.

If you are so special that you know how to write up some sort of mythological "compressed-down-to-a-few-key-sentences" wonder guide that's a quantum leap over and above those that have been written, then instead of carrying on like the toddlers chucking massive tantrums georgem's so aptly posted, why don't you put something together and grace us with your extraordinary insight and advanced communication capabilities?

In the meantime though, you've basically vomited all over the good work Tao, Tante and others have done and carried on like the grand poobah of fucktards whose seemingly only purpose in life is to put shit on EVERYONE.

You're an intelligent guy Camo but geez you're a fuckwit too.

Setting up a masternode is a very simple process.  The guide I used was very straightforward and easy to follow.  Anyone with minimal computer skills should be able to set one up in well under an hour.  The longest part is waiting for the 1000 DRK to confirm.

But it's not the guide it's the user.  Some people just don't have the intelligence or mental capability to perform simple tasks so they lash out in anger at anyone and everyone.  If someone doesn't have the necessary knowledge to be able to successfully setup a masternode then they should pay someone to do it for them.  There are people that have the intelligence to setup masternodes and have offered their services. This constant crying and profanity laden posts from a certain user attacking anyone and everything because they don't know what they are doing is getting rather old and one of the reasons that many people have a bad opinion of Darkcoin.

This clown is doing nothing for Darkcoin but damage.  It should sell it's coins and move on to something that it can understand.  Sesame Street would be a good place to start.

First of my coins that failed..

Well! I guess I will have to hide everything in another way! I'll be back!  Cool

PS: This is actually a good thing. Everyone should learn to take a look at the code before mining/hosting a pool/exchange/etc.

EDIT:
When that happens with every coin, only good ones will survive!

All your coins fail you pathetic loser  or should I say carsen cocksucker.

And no I didn't mine this shit.  But apparently there are plenty of fools in altcoin land more than willing to help it implode by supporting obvious shitcoins.
