Is no one tried to make pool

Are you serious?  One of the best features of this coin is that there are no pools.
742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [REKT] Got rekt? Let's get REKT! [UPDATED WALLETS] on: December 15, 2014, 04:26:53 PM

So this is a game for you to make innocent investors lose their money ?
Another scammer.

What did you expect, when every post of me mentioned "get rekt"?

Rektcoin did not have any feature (or promised feature) what would make it legit as an altcoin for the future. But rektcoin was a project for fun, and it still is.
All bagholders just bought Rektcoin and hoping for a pump and quick profit, just like all other shitcoins you are buying: it doesn't matter what the coin brings....you are just hoping for a whale who will pump it and you can make a quick profit. I guess no whale pumped rekt so you all got rekt! Including us!

Don't blame anybody else, blame yourself for buying a coin with nothing.

I hope this is a lesson for all of you: as long as you buy shitcoins, scam devs will keep launching them.
Now you got rekt.....

And no: I am not Cobain. If yes: this would have pumped far beyond.
I didn't make big profit, in fact i lost money! but the fun was unforgettable.

And this coin was not a scam . It got instamied hard (we didn't instamine it even, and we didn't even mine it that hard). When it didn't pump everyone just dumped it! It's not our fault!! And this coin is not dead. You can still always come back to this coin when you got rekt again! On hidden premine or whatever. I rest my case:

Got rekt? Get rekt!

Ha ha

Too funny

There will always be fools willing to part with their money.

Proof:

I would go back to mining if the wallet worked.

Found three blocks in 24 hours.  Mostly good luck but you can still find blocks mining BBR.   Two 280's is what I'm using.

what's the best pool of BBR ?

If you're using AMD cards then SOLO Mining is best.  Give it a day and you'll start finding blocks.  How many depends on how many cards you're using.  Difficulty and hashrate is low right now but I doubt it will stay that way for long.  Now is a good time to mine BBR.

Here are some good instructions for solo mining using "MBK's" openCL miner for BBR

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=693118.0

I need to buy a new windows laptop.

What spec would be best to mine BBR in the background? Intel or AMD? NVidia or Radeon?

Laptop will be (primarily) for the wife to do microsoft office-y stuff... I'm assuming I can CPU and GPU mine BBR without too much risk of the laptop overheating? Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks!

Don't bother.  Any laptop you could buy would never return your investment from mining.

Buy your wife a cheap laptop for her needs and leave it for that use.

And yes it will get hot

It's the dev of this coin.  He's also launched another half dozen cryptonote coins that he was unable to maintain.

I thought that clown had given up but I guess not.

That is not me, my UserName is doctorbyte, i have no WIN-PC i used a 30days Windows 7 Ultimate :

You compiled on your PC that's why your username is in the path for that error.  You are a terrible liar.  I think it's time you found another hobby Eldin.

yeah, please remove the stupid posts above. Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Shouldn't you be over on the latest StealthLiteDarkBlahBlahBlahCloneCoin thread with a cool logo and roadmap stating Blah blah blah?  That way you can mine a few coins and sell them for .00001874 btc and think your a big man before the dev takes off after selling his hidden premine leaving the coin to die.

Another virus infected wallet?

I wonder how many got bit by this one.

Just looking at the ANN there was never any reason to bother with this in the first place.

I hope nobody lost anything other than the time it will take to clean their system.

I've tried everything.  These are old wallets from way back before last summer.  I don't remember how much exactly is in them but I think one has 1000 XMR.   Can a wallet be to old to open?

I think you need to rebuild from keys file using an older version of binary, maybe 0.8.8.4, and then it should work on newer versions as well. Either that or wait for next release, this wallet formatting issue is being addressed now in #monero-dev, and should be corrected in next release.

That's exactly what I did and it worked.

Thanks

We need multi-gpu cgminer , because I am wasting energy on others GPUs.
I know, that I can mine different coin , but I don't want :-) I want be focus on KHC Smiley

For now you can use -d switch and mine khc with one GPU

Use others to mine something else or leave them idle and not wasting energy.

Okay it's done, withdrawals and deposits are opened up.
Can someone please make a small deposit/withdrawal and let me know. Just want to make sure, after all the forks, that everything is working 100%.

Withdrawal working

Can anyone help me update my monero wallet, it been long since i updated the chain. The keys file is updated last in may 2013. How should i proceed

I had the same issue. This is what I did.

This is in no way an official method but it worked for me.

Make sure you backup your files before you do this.

What I did was use version 8.8.4 to open the keys file.  I copied the .keys file into the directory that had the 8.8.4 daemon and simplewallet.  I then launched the daemon and waited for it to sync.  After it synced I opened the .keys file in simplewallet.  The simplewallet returned "unable to connect to daemon" and there was some red errors in the daemon window and would not sync.  I then typed save in simplewallet and it created a .bin file.  I was then able to open that wallet file in the latest version 8.8.6 and voila! I had access to my coins.

Many of us don't care for POS coins.
I am a strong proposer of turning Bitcoin into a pure POS coin!  Cool
Seriously, BTC is doomed due to it's ASIC mining monopolys. And some other facts.

I don't think POS solves anything.  POS has plenty of it's own flaws.

Speaking of mining, remember to help spread the hashrate. Solo mining if you have enough hash and know how to set it up, or support smaller pools like bbr.poolto.be (where I mine), bbr.mbkpool.info, boolberry.extremepool.org, etc.

I don't understand why people are so worried about getting small amounts of BBR continuously rather than larger amounts less often.  You can still solo mine and find blocks.  It will take longer but you get the entire block when you find it.  Mining on a pool that solves the most blocks doesn't equal more BBR for individual miners and it isn't good for the network.  The biggest pool also has a 3% fee so you lose that right off the top.

Maybe clintar just has like 900 Mh/s running on his own pool... Shocked

Maybe but it would be more profitable to mine something else than BBR with that much HR

If CZ wanted a CN coin which is POS instead of POW why wouldn't he switch BBR over to POS?  Poor BBR bagholders.

This doesn't really belong in the XMR thread so this will be the last time I reply to this subject in this thread.

Maybe because it would be a betrayal to just radically change BBR like that.  Many of us don't care for POS coins.

How does CZ working on another project negatively effect his work on BBR?  Do XMR devs work only on XMR?  No they work on other things to generate an income.  That's what CZ is doing and he's fortunate to be able to work on a project based on BBR code.  He's brought in another developer as well which is something that people have been concerned about.  I see more good than bad but you can spin it anyway you want I suppose.

I can't speak for CZ so I'll quote him instead.

I'll write it only once for all who interested.
There was two ways to survive:

1. Transform BBR to some kind of scam with hard fork (any radical changes gonna be scam, including converting BBR into a PoS, since many people don't like PoS coins) and to seize money from BBR. This would be true betrayal. As you may know, i've decided to not kill this project in that way, since i have a future plans for this project.

2. The second was to work out some other interesting project with the same codebase, to cover live spendings, and to keep BBR as it originally was conceived.

I've chosed second way. Befor new year we going to release new GUI, and next release will be the new wallet mode, that actualy utilize fully anonymouse outputs feature. But still, if someone don't like this my attitude - i don't have time and intention to convince you - feel free to quit.

Zoidberg

PS About Boolberry: In any case Boolbery is my primary project, and since both this projects based on the same code base - it will be win-win for both of this project from technology point of view. ATM scruffy is working on BBR new wallet version since i want to have second developer who familiar with BBR code, so this took more time that i expected, but this is need for project safety, a lot of people were talked about it before in this thread.

The strongest point to invest in BBR is crypto_zoidberg's skill and his dedication.

However, when he thinks that BBR is not good enough. He has to develop another coin. BBR loses developer's dedication. When uncertainty comes, I go.

Did you read his recent posts regarding BBR and his other project?  Where did you get "not good enough" from?

I don't really see how CZ working on another project hurts BBR.  Especially since he's using the same code base.  Regardless, he's free to do whatever he wants just like you.
