1701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Bitcoin ATM's reliable? on: June 07, 2019, 11:58:07 AM
What I'm most curious about is the commissions. For example, how much commission does it receive for a 1 BTC trade?

More you'll be willing to pay in most cases.

It's not unusual when buying to be charged up to 10%, even more sometimes. The average is often 6-7%

This site - https://coinatmradar.com finds ATMs and often list the costs too.
That's kinda high not to mention whether the transaction fee is included on that 6-7% or not but seeing from the perspective of the business owner, they need to pay rent for place, electricity and maintenance I guess that does make sense. But with the majority of people still have no idea or not using bitcoin this ATM seems a bit impractical and costly for maintenance I guess, I hope it will find more of its users by the time being.
1702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some IEOs could also turn out to be scam on: June 06, 2019, 11:20:18 PM
Actually, there are huge skepticism about small exchanges running IEOs because the hype hasn't come yet. Should there be the hype again, they're all gonna run very successful projects but you're right tho, proper research should be done before joining IEOs.
It's not because Hype, the skepticism about small exchanges running IEO is that the exchanges hasn't yet become reliable and proven to be trusted, the devs that want their project listed on small exchanges' IEO could bribe them anyway.
That's why there's no guarantee that an IEO will not turn scam if the hoster is small exchanges that is not popular even worse the exchanges is created only for IEO and just recently.
1703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: the Veil Project Mining- Privacy without Compromise on: June 06, 2019, 07:22:43 AM
\

Instead of complaining about it for a month, users should just have downloaded the snapshot a month ago and got on with it. Wallet version 1.0.3 has been very stable. Much more so than the previous version. Haven't had to re-sync or re-download the chain anymore since.

Complaining isn't because synchronizing taking too long, it is because blockchain is taking too big even it is only 6 months old. 11 gb is the current size and it doesn't change if you download a snapshot or synch yourself from the beginning. Even it is not huge right now, it is getting bigger very early and we are complaining about that.
Yeah I agree for new launched project the blockchain size it too big, this probably because of the zero coin stuff. But the team needs to compress it to make the blockchain size lighter, imagine at this rate how big the blockchain size in 2 years?
by the growing of the veil users the blockchain will size will be rapidly growing at a really fast pace, some people may think that harddisk will get cheaper overtime though if there's a way to compress the blocks size that'd be great.
1704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: when are we going to see ALtcoins do 50% profit in a day. on: June 06, 2019, 06:13:03 AM
are you serious there can't be a profit like that in a day, unless you know which one is going to double their price in the next 24 hours. some altcoins are making a good uptrend on the next 24 hours like an uptrend of 100% but some are more than that, that's it require you to know which coin is gonna pump up.
Exactly, that's just a ridiculous amount of profit for someone to expect, in all honesty if that were to happen for real and everyone knows which coin will be pumped to that extent everyone will be rich, although I assume such profit is just a wishful thinking from this topic starter I guess that's just too much profit LOL.
1705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IEO is popular, what do you think? Will you participate? on: June 05, 2019, 09:23:02 PM
Yes, IEO is now very popular, but in order to participate in them, you must have not only desire, but also experience. Many participants simply do not have time to buy tokens.
Well it is not that they dont have the time but instead they seem to not be able finish their KYC, any IEO will reauire you KYC and that is a big problem for some people since that will be a huge hassle to submit your important data.
1706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is better ICO, STO Or IEO ? on: June 05, 2019, 10:46:02 AM
What do you think, IEO better than ICO or STO or they are just the same with only difference in system?

They are all crowdfunding platform, ICO was the first to come but with so many fail ICO, STO and IEO are launches, which offers a good and safe place to invest, of the three IEO and STO are going to stay and ICO will soon vanish, because of so many scammers launching in ICO.
Well it really seems that people are switching over to IEO didnt it? I mean it is obvious when someone given the option to choose safer way of investing while not givung away anything in compensation that easily a win for the investors.
1707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I hate Banks and love Bitcoin :-> on: June 05, 2019, 10:25:22 AM
That is why many of the modern people especially those who are technology literate people who's wanted an easy and fast transaction like me. I am sorry that you experienced that kind of situation for sure it is very annoying,
I hope that in the future bitcoin will be available to all providers or all products that it can be an alternative way of paying instead of cash or through bank.
There are actually many third party services that provide you a convenient way to deal with everyday's shopping through bitcoin also there are many of gift card seller who accept bitcoin  If you really interested in using bitcoin you can try that
1708  Economy / Economics / Re: KYC for penny money? on: June 03, 2019, 03:33:48 PM
I saw in my social media feeds that there's a lot of people now posting about free cryptocurrency that needed of kyc before you get a penny money. This people not think if it's will good to them to give their identity in any site for just penny money. Yeah it's free but your identity will be possible to use in any harmful doings.

Whats your thoughts about this?

I have this feeling that some bounty hunters are not using their own credentials to submit, some of them might be using other's information that they've bought so they can participate in those airdrops and bounty hunting that needs KYC, common sense tells us you will not risk your yourself for a few pennies.

Indeed no one will participate in the airdrop that is giving small amount of payment especially when they have requirements to do Kyc,those people who is participating with that airdrop is using other identity or a dumb people that is not thinking about the risk because they think only the money.

If they are really thinking about the money they will not bother getting the pennies since they could outright sell their ID for higher price anyway (DONT DO THAT)
People who are really giving away their ID in exchanges of pennies are pure dumb, there's no cure for that but atleast we can give them advice that their ID will be sold in the dark web and they will need to face trouble in the future because of few cents.
1709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hardcap ICO is no guarantee that the project will succeed on: June 03, 2019, 03:20:11 PM
I do fully agree with that, that will still depend on the experience of the team behind the project, especially the programmer and marketing manager are the two crucial for the job to be done they have to be good for the projects to grow and succeed
Hardcap aren't meant to guarantee the project success anyway. Hardcap was mainly to limit the fund that got gathered through crowdfunding in this case is ICO and that point is to give certainty and satisfaction for the ICO investors. There's nothing wrong if a project didnt reach their hardcap
1710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is better than gold and USD? on: June 03, 2019, 02:37:32 PM
I do not think Bitcoin is better than Gold and USD. Yes, Bitcoin is the most expensive and influential cryptocurrency of this period. Bitcoin preference is more than all the other crypto currency. Bitcoin acceptability is very high and it is increasing day by day. But it is better not to compare gold or USD with bitcoin. I saw many posts where Bitcoin is better than gold and USD. My point is that Bitcoin is the crypto currency, on the other hand, gold is one of the natural resources and USD is the real currency. So how is Bitcoin compared with gold or USD and is called Bitcoin gold and better than USD? Where Bitcoin Gold and USD are used in various different things and in different fields. Give your opinion.
We different beliefs about bitcoin, gold and usd and we know what a differences of this three they have value but different ways to earn. Bitcoin is like or same gold and usd value even its volatile the one different of bitcoin is more technical than to gold and usd that have stable price unlike to bitcoin.
Gold stable because it has existed since centuries that is my opinion though, Imagine if bitcoin market capitalization is as huge as gold then bitcoin will definitely have the same chance of being less volatile too.
However we can't hinder the fact that we are nowhere to compete gold, maybe bitcoin really need to finds its place on people's mind as a digital version of gold
1711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do we need so many cryptocurrency exchanges? on: June 02, 2019, 04:05:16 PM
In addition to the exchanges listed on the CMC, there are many other exchanges.I have a question WHY do we need so many exchanges? What do You think the new exchange will be able to attract potential users?
We don't really need too many exchanges, they just there to give us options to where we could buy/sell out crypto.  New exchanges attracts users by offering features better than other exchanges such as lower fees, faster transaction, and more.
Also to give more competition, as you said the crypto community is actually not in need of all these various exchanges however the appearances of many new exchanges could give competition that will definitely benefits us as a cryptocurrency users so there is nothing wrong with that, also that many exchanges could atleast find and exchange information about security I guess, so that's better.
1712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is the altcoin bull started on: June 02, 2019, 03:51:36 PM
I think this time on altcoins is something different than previous ones. Lots of altcoins are keeping their value as USD but they are decreasing on btc pairs. We are seeing daily pump&dump on tokens generally.
That is to be expected, while the altcoin having a so so progress then the people will just ditch it and switch over more potential coin, in this case people are switching to BTC since it is BTC bullrun time but coins that can keep up with the current trends has shown tremendous amount of price spike.
1713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining ETH is now no profit on: June 01, 2019, 11:15:38 PM
I did not pay for electricity, so instead of the electrical energy being wasted I used it to mine. don't waste your money for something that doesn't get results.  Grin
I mean if you still used it to mine even without paying the electricity that still contradict with your staetement which you said "instead of the electrical energy being wasted"by mining you are still wasting energy right? whether or not you are making profit it just you who can decide it but the current situation is worst, Maybe it is time to switch to PoS instead to be honest, more efficient and not as energy consuming
1714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: when are we going to see ALtcoins do 50% profit in a day. on: June 01, 2019, 09:35:43 PM
bitcoin has been on the bull run currently.it looks like the glorious days are back but how long will it last. when are we seeing the bulls on the altcoins just like it is happening on bitcoin. i believed that people make more money on altcoins than bitcoins.

Well, while the situation with the Altcoins is not clear. Perhaps investors simply transfer money to Bitcoin. I see how many altcoins are still in the fall.
It does make sense that some of altcoin investors choose to withdraw their money from all those alts simply because they are trusting bitcoin more I mean it is their choice to invest into altcoin however some showing a really poor progress then moving back to btc is the wisest option and because btc is a the bull run aswell, there's many altcoins that does poorly at this time and that is not a new thing, every btc bull run some altcoin will just go down even deeper.
1715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Say it again? Bitcoin transaction fees expensive? on: June 01, 2019, 09:27:05 PM
When it comes to transaction it is the size that matters not how much btc you sent or received, that is what make bitcoin really suitable for rich peeps but for low money brat that is a burden, most of the people that trying to gather btc by small amount to a single wallet usually have so many input in their transaction resulting bigger transaction size, I guess that is the problem.
1716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: the Veil Project Mining- Privacy without Compromise on: May 31, 2019, 09:32:17 AM
It's much better to sync the wallet often, than say once a month or so. This is what I do myself and I have had no problems whatsoever when this is done. There is also the file one can download to get up to date.

But still, i am facing problems with Sync, even after downloading and i placed everything that they mentioned but still, my wallet is facing issues which it is not completely synced. What are the other steps i need to follow in order to sync my wallet?
I think I also have a little problem in sync wallet. until now the process is still 57%. well, maybe this is due to a slow internet network. Has anyone been able to overcome this problem? make scync faster?
That is kinda strange, usually if you download the daily snapshot and pasted all the files to the right place and right at the same day, it will usually already synced for minimum of 90%, maybe if the usual guide didnt work for you, try to place the wallet and its files to a standalone folder?
The only way to nake sync faster is through downloading snapshot I guess.
1717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IEO is popular, what do you think? Will you participate? on: May 31, 2019, 08:07:54 AM
This is a correct method to avoid scammer ico and IEO will help you reduce your risk. It should be remembered that if we invest in wrong ico, our money will only be drained. So to be free of risks for investing, always choose the right currency.

For some reason, IEOs is better than ICOs. Many ICOs not delivers the project like what promises and too many scam ICOs in 2018. IEO perhaps good alternative after many investor earn profits from IEOs in big exchangers.
IEO is obviously a better version of ICO, I mean it is like IEO is the more legitimate way of gathering funds where the project undergo a thorough process of documents and regulatory approval whereas ICO is just well, being held by ICO developers without involving any third parties. Although some of exchanges ate just blindly accepting project into their IEO and as it turns out the project become scam, thats why you still should use your brain to choose IEO
1718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc has no value on: May 30, 2019, 09:20:56 PM
we need legality and public trust to be a currency that has value.  not only has a nominal value but has a high utility value on the market and when used for transactions.  and today. BTC today requires adoption and regulation to become a currency that has value.
Bitcoin is already a currency, it doesnt need to become one again, also the point of bitcoin is to  e regulation free although I can't deny that such thing is sometimes necessary. However, decentralozed things loke bitcoin will be better if remain free and not tied with too much regulation, it just need to necessary ones.
1719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I Turned My Rigs Off... on: May 30, 2019, 03:42:08 PM
Damn.

OP was paying 0,06 for kw and still wasn't profitable.

Back when I was mining in 2013 or so I paid 0,25 or more, with extra fee for excess consumption.

And was profitable for a while! Especially since I held until 2017.

I hope the mining scene recovers soon.
Too much competition and the difficulties increasing like crazy due to crazy hash power, now the miners seem to be cooling down but still leaving the high difficulties and that could make the whole blockchain slowing down aswell. The only way for instant profit recovery for all these miners that still running until now is the new ATH.
1720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is blockchain a perfect solution? on: May 29, 2019, 04:28:24 PM
We live in a world where our online IDs are in the hands of the government and banks, and we rely on them to keep it secure. Blockchain IDs on the other hand, put you and you only in control. Therefore, you can store all your passwords and any other personal information on the blockchain, eliminating the need of passwords in everything. In the future, these ID services could be applied to government services, medicines and any other record keeping agency.

Blockchain system exist to combat greed and middlemen and to give individuals ultimate control of their identity and activity. In a blockchain future, we will see a world where our medical records are immediately available if we are in an accident; where online voting was possible; and where transparency was paramount and greed is disincentivized.

Blockchain is a very secured server. I do not know why government won't implement this on the country. It is the best security until it was made. All important records, archives, keys, etc. really needs it to lessen security breaches. This thing is the future and we can't let the future be cheap since it is for the convenience of all.
First of all, blockchain is not a server, it is a system that connects so many computers in the world building what it is called decentralized chain of blocks, more detailed explanation you should read on wikipedia. The government didnt want to implement blockchain despite having so many benefits is the fact that the blockchain is decentralized, although there's some way to modify blockchain and make it more centralized however it seems that majority of the countries are still too afraid of using it, they are in the state of doubtfulness.
