Hi do you know when a  miner looses internet connection for lets say 2mins
what is happening with the work at a current block,
all previous hours are lost or not?Huh or its keeps them until
communicate again with the pool
You don't work on 'a' block as such.
You work on the current network block which changes on average about every 10 minutes or less.
The work we give you is actually updated every 30s to new work with new transactions in it.

However, your PoW (Proof or Work) is the shares you submit until we find a block.
All shares you submit, that are valid at the time you submit them, are remembered.
(we also remember the invalid ones)

When someone finds a block, we look back from that winning share back through all shares submitted by everyone back N diff shares.
It doesn't matter what work or block you were working on for the shares, as long as they were valid shares when submitted.
Any PoW shares you have submitted inside that range are included in your payout calculation.

So this means that even if the miner looses internet connection or power it does not mean much as long as the time
interuption is small,  or just needs a reboot am I thinking write???

1049  Local / Mining Discussion (Ελληνικά) / Re: τιμές του ρεύμα on: November 24, 2014, 11:06:02 AM
to make a calculation on how much money your miner spents its to devide the total kwh with the bill
the result is how much you pay.If run from a companies account Vat is compensated along with other expenses.
my calculation says its about 0,18 c
way too much from the US located miners and HA HA they complaning for not making ROI
for us then its a hobby.

1053  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Solo Mining vs Pool Mining help on: November 23, 2014, 06:13:41 PM
dont spent so much money in one time
Buy 5-10ths as start and divide them in half of it solo and the other half pool mining
Then run them for a month and you will have your answer.
I run 1/10 of my hash power solo the other pool side.

Hi Guys

I am looking to buy some decent hardware with an investment of 30k-40k, which machines would be the best to go with considering a good ROI.

I was looking at SP35 , Bitmain S4 , Cointerra...so many choices but want to dig your brains too.

Appreciate the answers in advance.

Thanks

oh very simple buy s-4's as long as you get the new 400 usd coupons they are pretty good.

1058  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Nov 18th to Dec 1 diff thread (-0.35%) to (1.14%) on: November 20, 2014, 12:25:50 PM
Maybe and I say Maybe
its a lesson learned and that mining is not always profitable
actually its not bitcoin itself but the speculation on bitcoin price...

The ones that got borred waiting or realised that price many not go up again
are out of the game and you can see this from sellers like the one selling on the
market place section currently 100pcs       SP-30 or companies like bitmain and spondoolies
making discounts

1059  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling bitcoins min 1btc (Western union, paypal for trusted members) on: November 19, 2014, 02:57:36 PM
they are protected with chargeback 45days.

This is not true.  There are many examples on this forum of people who believed this, sent paypal balance, and then didn't receive the bitcoins.  Although in some circumstances it might be possible to chargeback, it is at least as likely that PayPal will simply close the accounts of both parties for violating the terms of service agreement, or that PayPal will refuse the chargeback for some reason.

Exchanging PayPal for bitcoin will generally result in one of the two people involved in the transaction being scammed.

If it turns out that you are not a scammer, and if you somehow get lucky enough to find someone who is not a scammer that is willing to buy the bitcoins from you, then you will pay a very high exchange rate for convenience of using PayPal.

You would be MUCH better off accepting cash or other irreversible payment methods with either a trusted escrow provider or in a face-to-face exchange.  If you decide to use a trusted escrow provider, here is a list of popular escrow providers from this forum:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=276897.0

When working with a trusted bitcointalk user (for escrow as an example), be very careful to make sure that you are actually working with the person you think you are working with.  There are scammers that will create similar looking usernames and use them to impersonate trusted individuals and trick people into sending them bitcoins.

PayPal Buyer Protection

Section 13 is amended to make several improvements to the PayPal Buyer Protection policy. The amendments will:
improve the conditions of reimbursement under PayPal Buyer Protection by:
increasing the time allowed for buyers to raise a Dispute from 45 days to 180 days from the date on which payment was made (UK resident PayPal users already benefit from this improvement); and
extending the range of eligible purchases to cover custom made items that are claimed to be Not Received.
for UK resident users contracting with PayPal under the User Agreement, clarify at new section 13.4.a.k that the purchase of any wager (whether by way of backing or laying against any outcome or otherwise) and any other opportunity to benefit from a gambling activity is not an eligible purchase.
for all users contracting with PayPal under the User Agreement, clarify at section 13.6 that, if PayPal has reason to believe that returning an item that the buyer claims is SNAD to the Payment Recipient would result in a violation of applicable law, such as laws related to handling counterfeit items, PayPal may report the item to a competent authority. This may result in the authority taking control of and/or possession of the item from the buyer and the Payment Recipient might not receive the item back.
