Since murphy has been following me around maybe the luck will turn and I can win
an S2! hope this is considered as entering?
564  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Why is BITMAIN selling used products ? on: June 11, 2014, 08:58:18 PM
The only remorse I have is not having enough cash to buy more and sell them at a premium like everyone else is now Tongue
565  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Why is BITMAIN selling used products ? on: June 11, 2014, 08:33:03 PM
I thought if a company had a physical location in the states they needed to abide by the laws?
Selling something used as new would be illegal isn't it? My S1 was dusty and it wasn't from a day or three burn in as well.
It's unethical but so are the people selling used S1's for the price of a new one (before they were discontinued)
566  Economy / Speculation / Re: We're not going anywhere, until the 51% question is answered on: June 11, 2014, 07:39:16 PM
and what happens when a pool hits 60% or 70%? no risk still?
never happen?
567  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Mandatory transaction fees on: June 11, 2014, 07:32:11 PM
Where is the easy option to send a 5 dollar donation without getting hit with a tx fee using the QT client?
Use a bitcoin wallet which does not enforce a fee.

There is a mod of bitcoin-qt, which does not enforce a fee: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=22434.0 (never tried it)

But there are also other bitcoin wallets that don't treat you like they were Apple and you were an iPhone user.

It may take much longer for your tx to confirm, but since its a donation I guess you don't care.
In any case make a backup of your wallet.dat before sending, because if the tx gets stuck, it may lock your change amount.
yea and that is just crazy that a person needs to go through all that.
What was wrong with the old way? was there really a need to micromanage fee enforcement without jumping through hoops?
Sure I'm ok with the confirmation taking 48 hrs if needed or longer. I'm ok paying fees as well, to speed up confirms etc.
I saw the fork wallet, I just don't want "dust" lost in the ether. I don't go around throwing pennies on the street as it is.
568  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Mandatory transaction fees on: June 11, 2014, 06:14:05 PM
Whether it allows you to send a tx with no fee, depends on how many BTC you want to send (the more, the better) and when you received the coins that you are spending (the sooner, then better).
right I get that part. although I sent .4 recently and pretty sure
I was forced into clicking ok for a fee on that as well. Thought the limit was lower but not the real point..

569  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Mandatory transaction fees on: June 11, 2014, 04:48:08 PM
Last time I played with bitcoin it was possible to send btc without paying a fee.
Why does the new qt client refuse to send a transaction without tacking a fee on?
Or am I missing how I can send a buck or three to someone without using command line and spending a day on google learning how to do it and not paying fees.

570  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 4.1.0: modular ASIC+FPGA, GBT+Strtm, RPC, Mac/Lnx/W64, NF6,OSM/HxFy,DMR on: June 11, 2014, 03:36:48 PM
Is there a way to set the clocking for each antminer (u1's) separately?

I am currently running two instances of BFGminer to run my mix of antminers, Bifury's and 1 Nanofury. I would like to be able to consolidate and only run one instance in one command window if possible. The reason I need to run separate clocking is that 2 of the ants will not run stable at more than 1.8 Gh/s or the 0881 so I run them on one instance along with my nanofury and bifury and run the other 7 ants 2.0 in a second instance.

Please let me know if this is possible and if so how to structure the command line to do so.

Thanks

For each device:

--set ant@<vcom port here>:clock=xxxx

I believe or something similar
It never worked for me and I tried several different ways of doing it.
I'd love to see someones working conf file that does work so we can figure it out once and for all.
I settled on 2 instances and dealing with it. It took less time in the end to configure it that way. PITA with all the files now.

I think I have it working for now. I have the two that can not run more than 180 running 180 and the others running 200 on one instance of BFGminer . Now to see if they will do so while on the same hub. I will try that perhaps tomorrow and let you know. Currently I am using the following command line to start my rig loaded with 9 ants, 7 bifurys, and one nanofury twin.

bfgminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334 -u user -p x -S antminer:all -d antminer@\\.\COM3 --set antminer@\\.\COM3:clock=x0881 -d antminer@\\.\COM4 --set antminer@\\.\COM4:clock=x0881 -d antminer@\\.\COM5 --set antminer@\\.\COM5:clock=x0981 -d antminer@\\.\COM6 --set antminer@\\.\COM6:clock=x0981 -d antminer@\\.\COM7 --set antminer@\\.\COM7:clock=x0981 -d antminer@\\.\COM8 --set antminer@\\.\COM8:clock=x0981 -d antminer@\\.\COM9 --set antminer@\\.\COM9:clock=x0981 -d antminer@\\.\COM10 --set antminer@\\.\COM10:clock=x0981 -d antminer@\\.\COM11 --set antminer@\\.\COM11:clock=x0981 -S bfx:all --set bfx:osc6_bits=54

beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
So I was going to send a buck for the example. but since I've been out of the scene for a long time I see the new qt client won't send without
adding a fee regardless. So I need to figure out the rawtransaction command.. Otherwise the fee is a joke for such a small amount.
571  Economy / Speculation / Re: We're not going anywhere, until the 51% question is answered on: June 11, 2014, 02:59:55 PM
I don't really care. Let it crash. More ppl mine on ghash the more blocks solved = faster money for me.

Is there a way to pass arguments to specific devices of the same family?
I have some U1's that I wish to overclock individually. It appears and I might have overlooked it, that the arguments I set
would affect all devices?

all the ones who are the first to chime in here saying who cares it isn't a problem will the first ones crying they lost their lifesavings.

I would really like to see 2FA on this site via Google Authenticator.  I am guessing it would be fairly easy for the admin to add.
I would really like to not see google products used on an anonymous coin.
575  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Best Share with an Antminer U2 on: June 11, 2014, 01:05:03 PM
that is nothing and not even worth posting about.
My s1 best share is over 5 million. So there, old tech beat the faster youngin Tongue
a u2 miner has 538k best share. so what?

Um, you don't know what an AntMiner u2 is, do you?
I was pretty sure it read S but I must have not has enough coffee. or it was edited Tongue

Lol, easy mistake to make especially if you're under-caffeinated. But you do know that you have "u2" in your very own post. Wink
yea because I was just saying that the measly u2 did better than the S2 that I thought I read... (for the best share they posted)
576  Economy / Speculation / Re: We're not going anywhere, until the 51% question is answered on: June 10, 2014, 11:09:36 PM
There are several pools that are better than them, just not as flashy
or as lucrative. I'll switch to a 0% fee pool that finds multiple block in a day in a heartbeat.
Pick a pool and lets move.
577  Economy / Speculation / Re: We're not going anywhere, until the 51% question is answered on: June 10, 2014, 10:40:10 PM
FYI, pool Ghash.io has mined 48% of the blocks in the last 24 hours. On Sunday, it was 45%. It starts to be hazardous.

Than create a pool like ghash. Everyone complains about it but no one comes with a pool as good as ghash
the answer to everything.

anyone else not get paid for this block?

Ghash is showing two blocks with number 305142.  The first one, ID 13819, paid out normally.  The second one, ID 13821 is stale and hence no payouts.
good eye

SHA2 is not supported for these, only scrypt.

dude do you know of a bfgminer Fork that will let me mine sha with a gridseed?
I can't stand the cgminer for gridseed
it sux!!!

I don't get why you would not add sha for gridseed???  Huh
your the guy who was like I don't really care about scrypt & yet you add scrypt for gridseed  Roll Eyes
I'm sure a donation would help convince him to add the support.

that's a big Assumption

how do you know I have not giving him a donation before.  Tongue

as for adding the support
the work has been done for the most part, he just has to add it to bfgminer.

that was before this is now.  Tongue
