662  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: May 26, 2014, 02:58:29 PM
Anyone ever have issues with setting the S1 for pool rotation and it skipping pools?
The one pool I had issues with I had other miners working fine on.
Seems odd they would keep submitting but the S1 skipped it on it's round and went to the
next pool specified.
663  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer support and OverClocking thread on: May 26, 2014, 04:13:39 AM
Hi all,
I have 2 S1 ants version 1.6.
<snip>
My old version 1.5 overclocked without problem.

How do you tell if its v1.5 or v1.6 please?
(Sorry, can't asset with your OC question...)
it's printed on the controller board
664  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: M's Ant (S1/S2) Monitor v1.5 on: May 25, 2014, 04:53:24 PM
Ooops sorry about that, I must not of read through the thread as entirely as I thought.
I see why, most people who would run this would have more than 1 ant to monitor.
665  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: M's Ant (S1/S2) Monitor v1.5 on: May 25, 2014, 04:00:45 PM
Love the idea and the app works somewhat here. v1.5
The fans, temps, freqs and status are all blank.
I see there are some issues but thought I would check in with my experience as well.

That's a new one!  Hopefully the next version will work properly for you.

I'm just curious, are you using S1s or S2s?

Would be nice to see a stop button for the scan feature as well in the future possibly?

Good idea.

I expect the next version to be a bit faster with scanning however.

I'm running one S1, but only 1 blade currently; I don't think it's relevant but full disclosure..
Browser 1 tab loads and displays the stats. It's just in the Ants tab that the fields don't populate entirely.

Couple years ago, I posted about mvps.com in their forums. It's a comment. Supposedly it's against the TOS. But still banned and censored me and my comment.

I find this ironic.

Edit:
Right after this they took place where you need an ISP email account to sign up for their forums. LOL.

Thanks, Steve for the ban couple years ago!
hardocp is a hardware forum that takes kickbacks and money from corporations to do glowing reviews of their hardware.
It's been proven kyle was on the take. And anything you read off that website should be considered a paid advertisement.
668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Anonymous coin will win the battle? on: May 25, 2014, 01:03:10 PM
yea dark coin isn't going to make it. Between paying to be a node and the instamine and it being closed source.
It's going to die a slow death.
Not buying the BS sob story about not releasing the code to prevent more fakecoins.
get over it already.
669  Economy / Economics / Re: Anyone Think Bitstamp is Insolvent? Possible BTC Price Drop Incoming? on: May 25, 2014, 12:59:06 PM
it's none of their business where the coins came from. idgaf if it is for laundering purposes or not.
imnsho its a good place to not do business with if they want to be that anal down to the micro bit.
670  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: May 24, 2014, 07:16:41 AM
What is the general consensus on turning the wifi on and using it on the S1's or leaving it off?
I tried running it and it went from 1.2's to 4's load avg and than stopped responding/seemed to lock up.
wouldn't respond to the static IP or the wifi dhcp assigned IP.
So does wireless work?
Or just stay wired and use a wireless bridge if I must go wireless?

Also what is considered acceptable for discarded shares? The discarded shares are beating the accepted.

no and yes. If you don't care about electric than yes, if you do care about electric, possibly yes still.
More than likely no.
674  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: plexi case for ants... hoping it works... on: May 23, 2014, 12:11:37 PM
Too much money and effort for only 2 C degree drop. And when the fans die, you have a giant convection oven.
675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DRK Coin is closed source? on: May 23, 2014, 12:07:38 PM
On top of being closed source and supposedly heavily premined. It doesn't appear the authors know where
they are going with this. As I read about changes to the core almost daily it seems.
676  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: GHASH.IO vs ELIGIUS.ST on: May 23, 2014, 12:00:43 PM
Any one have experience in mmpool.org ?
yea they like to pull shady shit like raise the auto payout fee without telling anyone.
and to charge an auto payout fee how fricking greedy are you? My advice find a pool that doesn't charge auto payout fees.
And communicates to it's members.
677  Economy / Services / Re: WE PAY FOR SIGNATURE EVEN MORE. UP TO 0.0016 BTCs PER POST. WEEKLY PAYOUTS. on: May 22, 2014, 09:31:23 PM
Would you elaborate on these terms a little more?
"Terms:
Traffic must be productive in users joining and making bets to participate in this program.  "
It reads to me that the advertiser must have users joining and participating on your site for them to get paid?
Or does the advertiser need to join your site and place bets to be eligible to participate in the ad campaign?

678  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: GHASH.IO vs ELIGIUS.ST on: May 22, 2014, 08:13:23 PM
My advice Stop mining there and go find a new home. Because it should have triggered yesterday when they finally pushed it.
And that wallet addy is a bunch of pure BS spewed to make you feel like you got support.
I never deleted my wallet addy or changed it and was paid like it should have worked all along.

May or May not.
In some cases that process is required if there is a db entry needed to the auto payout to trigger.
Same time it can also be like you said.

It may take sometime even more than 30 hours but since started with them March 2014 I had 0 problems
and most of all 0 fees and able to trade my Namecoins and Litecoins
They promise to go for Doge trade and Devocoin trade but so far nothing I dont know how they manage to do it
with the multipool available...
Uh there is a hefty fee (imo) if you withdraw manually. The only payout without a fee is btc and that is if you wait for the autopayout if and when it works.
679  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Teen Bitcoin Investment on: May 22, 2014, 01:28:32 AM
Hello all, I am a 14 year old that got into mining and wants to upgrade. I am wanting to get a Antminer S2 soon but don't have cash for that. I am wondering if anyone would like to invest even a little in my cause and I would be able to pay you back even double what you invested. Please help my bitcoin mining be a success!

Thank you for your support,
Taylor

we all want an S2, not all of us can afford it. Start small work your way up. Buy something else you can afford and reinvest the profits.
680  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Residential Hobbyist Miners: power concerns? on: May 22, 2014, 12:55:21 AM
Run a dedicated circuit and make it a 240V 30A.  Use a NEMA L6-30 outlet as most PDUs use that style plug.   It is good for 80%*240*30 = 5.76 KW.

I'd imagine that's a pretty significant expenditure to get installed.  I'm not an electrician, so maybe it's not a big deal to have something like that installed in my home.  Got a ballpark figure on something like that?

I don't know.  I did it myself.  It costs me maybe $60 in parts (I put in two outlets and two breakers at the same time) and an hour of work.   A lot depends on where the outlet will be relative to your breaker panel.  You mentioned having rigs in the basement.  If your breaker panel is in the basement, you have room for a new double pole breaker and you don't mind a surface mount box and surface mount wiring it will be a lot cheaper than if an electrician needs to juggle around breakers, put in a sub panel, run some wiring half way through the house inside the walls and through floors, etc.

The wire alone for a 50 foot run that can support 30 amp is over 60$
