The OP scammer has been online since that 1 post and has not replied to anything posted here. Just looked they were on the forum a couple of hours ago.
It looks like a scam, and smells like a scam, and the OP is not responding, just like a scammer.
So, I'm going with scammer.

Will tag later unless the OP comes back and responds.

922  Economy / Reputation / Re: Should we hand out neutral/neg tags like candy?(open but might be future edits) on: July 10, 2023, 11:22:39 AM
"Once you pull out the pin, Mr. Grenade is no longer your friend"

I do think we should hand out neutral/neg tags more often then we do now, BUT I can see it causing people to start tagging some more borderline cases and using it to settle grudges with people based on more flimsy reasons. AND, once you go down that road there is no going back. If we start it 4th quarter 2023 as a test and Jan 1st 2024 we as a group decide that it does not work. Do we go back and remove them? How about the people that don't remove them.

Don't get me wrong, I support it and think we should be more aggressive in handing out neg / neutrals just keep in mind there will be consequences.
But, if it gets rid of a bunch of the crap, then the consequences are worth it.

.....
Edit - “ top world coin” NOT power coin. My apologies.

Do you have the links to this. Did a bit of searching and my Monday AM google powers seem to be lacking. And I did not see them in the Breached / Scam makers list:

Back to this, the other issue beyond all of these things is that with the larger places you don't always know who is involved.
When Yogg went evil, we knew who it was and what happened.
When Gravitate went evil we knew who it was and what happened.

With things like this, since it was a larger organization, they might have had the best intentions but 1 bad employee messed it up for everyone.
Not saying that the company is not at fault, it's their coin and their problem, just that the more people involved the more likely it's going to be a problem.

It's even happened to people here who had others help them, they knew what they were doing but the partner did not and bad things happened.

924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why research is crucial to a good experience - Tips from a decade-old Bitcoiner on: July 10, 2023, 10:43:23 AM
This really comes down to anything. It's just that there is so much more bad data sitting out there in the crypto world that it makes it a lot harder to sift though what is real and what is fake. YouTube / Twitter / Facebook all just make it worse since there are so many people out there looking to just make a buck.

You see it more and more with a lot of things and no matter what you just have to keep a more cynical attitude about what is real and what is not and deal with it on that basis. And if there is enough saying no, even if you want it to be yes then you have to be willing to accept that fact.

Even when getting involved in buying things in the physical world you have to dig though a lot more crap then you used to and be willing to accept that there are a lot of people out there pushing their own agenda.

925  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Popular and Lucrative Ordinals Bitcoin NFTs- Where are my Ordinals Experts at? on: July 09, 2023, 12:25:35 PM
you could say the same thing about bitcoin itself  Shocked some people think cryptocurrency is a scam and not real.

Yes, but BTC has proven over time that it's not a scam.
Ordinals seem are just another shitcoin / token / ICO / IEO / and so on that have cropped up in the crypto world.
99%+ will eventuality just become worthless. Mich like the shitcoins / tokens ......

There are better ways to spend your time and money they chasing that fraction of 1% that might be worth something.

926  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [Tutorial] BlueWallet - Bitcoin Wallet Discussion on: July 09, 2023, 12:20:50 PM
How to sign a message when using vault option? It disappeared in that type.

You can't.
If you set it up with a hardware wallet you need to sign it with that.
If you set it up as a multisig there is no standard for signing with multisig as far as I know. Could have changed but last I looked it was not there.

And it's also a security thing. If you have a 2 of 3 multisig any 2 people can sign but you would never know which 2. Since they can spend the BTC it does not matter from that view but you would never be able to prove more then that.

927  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not decentralized on: July 09, 2023, 11:44:40 AM
Bitcoin is decentralized, BUT as with anything you can always find something that looks bad.

Nobody is really worried about Foundry. Why? Foundry is not stupid, they know that once their hashrate goes above a certain point the optics will be bad and that could negatively affect the price of BTC and they don't want that. Look at what happened to F2 when they got to 50%

As for the 7TB of chipmixer. We don't know what was there and why. It was multiple servers and if they were running core that is 500GB+ per box.
And, as everyone knows but keeps forgetting. There is deleted files and securely erased files. If he created a file and then removed it when the transaction was complete as we well know that file IS recoverable until it is securely wiped from the drive. SSDs are even worse since they try to do wear leveling so cells may not be written over until the entire drive has been passed over.

Some exchanges not wanting to take some coins? Yes, that sucks but they are private businesses and can do as they wish. There are enough places that do not care and the P2P and DEX options are also out there.

928  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Looking for SPV wallet which lets me verify blocks myself (e.g. BIP-157) on: July 08, 2023, 05:46:57 PM
To be clear: I'm not looking exclusively for a solution for me or an use case of mine. I'm simply interested in the current "offers" which exist of a certain category of technological solution, which is what BIP-157-based software would offer, but for desktop and not for mobile. The idea is that also other people which are looking for a better SPV solution could "profit" from this thread. Maybe I should clarify that in the OP.

Thank you for all suggestions of the type "you should do this (e.g. use a full node) instead of that", but that's not the topic of this thread (please don't feel offended though). Smiley  (Of course I understand that it's also important for Bitcoin to count with a good number of full nodes, but again, this discussion is off topic here.)

No offense taken. At a quick read it looked like you were looking for something different.

Thinking about it this is where an independent database solution would be ideal. You can get rid of a bunch of stuff that you don't need a just stuff the data into a DB that you are querying.
What I can see being an issue is that what I want in the DB YOU might not want in the DB, so then by default the app is going to try to put everything into it.

929  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Looking for SPV wallet which lets me verify blocks myself (e.g. BIP-157) on: July 08, 2023, 11:12:02 AM
I hate to just put this out there, and it really might be a US based thing, BUT 1 TB SSD are now under $50

https://www.microcenter.com/search/search_results.aspx?N=4294945779+4294818519+667&NTK=all&sortby=pricelow

so it's not like you can't have the entire blockchain and an OS and everything else you need on a decent drive. Older (6th gen) PCs are overkill for doing this and are also dirt cheap since they are for the most part 7+ years old.

There really is no cost involved with this the right way anymore.

Sorry if this seems grumpy, but you will spend more time trying to figure out a way not to spend a few dollars then the extra few dollars is worth.
And then pull your hair out dealing with issues because you tried to cut corners.

930  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 188888888ikzoy8jmR2byT4WoQsycLxeUH -Great Magic of blockchain on: July 07, 2023, 07:19:37 PM
You are right , my wrong.

But how possibility is that one person will find two BTC address like:

18888888EENAhksSohAkYwq7Fy4HLGciHb
188888888ikzoy8jmR2byT4WoQsycLxeUH

this is the same one man

VanityGen for 8 digits?
Are we sure? 8 digits?

An older desktop i7 should be able to get a 188888888 in about a week or so using the old vanitygen it will search about 1.75 Mkey/s
BUT vanitysearch running on that exact same CPU will get it done in about 1/2 a day due to coding optimizations it can get to 22 Mkey/s
take a look at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5112311.msg50823897#msg50823897
ANY semi modern GPU can get it done in MINUTES.

931  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WARNING] Sol Noctis Bull Coin Keys Compromised / Scam on: July 07, 2023, 06:42:50 PM
So if I understood correctly, at the time it was considered a scam because people couldn't redeem?

Or are the keys at risk of being compromised (even if they haven't as of yet)?

There have been a couple of issues.

1) You needed to jump thought hoops to redeem some coins.
2) If you read this entire thread something funky DID happen with at least 1 coin.

So make your own conclusions from there.
I think it is just sloppy work in general from them and not the worlds best customer service attitude.

932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I know it's a bit random on: July 07, 2023, 03:01:48 PM
You can raise the fee if it's Replaceable-By-Fee (RBF) or use Child-Pays-For-Parent (CPFP)

Oh, I know that. It was just the 3rd of 4th time it happened to me recently. The next block just came in at the 48 minute mark.
Not worth bumping the fee, I am just opening a lightning channel, but I wound up with that feeling of every time I don't use a large fee we have a big pause between blocks.

I'm sure there have been dozens of times with I set the fee a bit lower then I should have and a few blocks came in back to back in a few minutes. But, you really don't remember those as much.....

I understand that your comment is a bit ironic, but how big is the sample on which you base your superpower. 10 transactions sent? 100? 1000?

Probably the 10 number. But, do you want me to get out the spandex superhero costume? You may need eye bleach if you look.

-Dave
933  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / I know it's a bit random on: July 07, 2023, 02:50:08 PM
I know it's random and blocks are only found on average once every 10 minutes. And there is the conformation bias, but I am beginning to think I *do* have a superpower and it's the ability to stop blocks from being found.
Sent a 6 sat/vb transaction 40 minutes ago, seconds after the last block. And now....no blocks for 40+ minutes.

And 6 sat/vb is not going to happen for 4+ blocks.

Feels like every time I send a TX with *just enough* of a fee to probably make it into the next block.

Just a Friday complaint, back to your regularly scheduled forum reading.

934  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain Exchange holding my funds (1.25 BTC) hostage for 45 days already on: July 07, 2023, 01:19:23 PM
This was their comment:
Quote
we are not able to provide any details about individual applications or specific reasons for rejection.
That's a lousy excuse.

It's probably a legal thing.
If they come out and say that they don't trust the LoyceV casino or the DaveF exchange or whatever, that puts them in the position of having to defend their view and the potential liability of whoever coming after them for defamation or some such crap. Easier to just say we can't tell you.

Also, if they made a mistake and the funds did not come from where they thought they did then they don't have to justify it.

But, it's blockchain.com and they have never been user friendly.

935  Other / Archival / Re: Sinbad.io Mixer - secure, fast and easy to use on: July 07, 2023, 12:03:44 PM
Since it is a pirate flag the only true colors should be black / red / white.

On a more technical note, would it be possible to set the actual fee the outgoing TX uses within certain limits.
Don't want to have people set it so low that it might not be confirmed for months, but at times I would not mind setting it low and then doing a CPFP if needed.

936  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Who can you trust these days with cold storage hardware wallets? on: July 06, 2023, 07:02:31 PM
....But if I had to pick between multisig and an airgapped computer, I would go for the latter....

I cannot stress this point enough.

airgapped computer, with proper backup.

I am constantly amazed at the number of discussions that have popped up about people using an AG PC and not having the seed secured someplace else.
Buy a hardware wallet, backup the seed securely.
Setup a hot wallet with a small amount on your phone or PC, backup the seed securely.
Do an airgapped PC and "Oh, I'll just write the seed on this piece of paper here and stick it in a book"

Seriously, WTF. Seen that a couple of times now on reddit and other discussion places.
Because it's just an offline PC sitting there, what can go wrong.....

937  Economy / Reputation / Re: Judgment Thread For PytagoraZ by JollyGood on: July 06, 2023, 06:56:28 PM
Having 150 posts, which comes out to 5 a day and creating this thread makes you look more guilty then the neutral tag. That is a lot of time and effort to put in for a new user.
Creating this thread will make people question what you are doing here more. And there are a lot more people who now are going to be paying attention.

-Dave

Thanks dave

But, what mistake do you mean? I'm just surprised, most members accuse me of being alt, I know that's just an assumption but why doesn't anyone think that if I'm alt why do I dare to make a thread here and oppose DT? I think if people make mistakes they will be afraid, it's human nature

Not a mistake. But, you go to the Honda Accord forum to talk about your car, you go to the CanAm Ryker forum to talk about your trike. You go to the Bitcoin forum to talk about Bitcoin.
I don't read Indonesian so I have no idea what you are talking about there, but you have very few posts talking about BTC

Take a step back and look at it from the point of view of someone else. You have an order of magnitude more posts about the forum then what the forum is about.

Spend some more time talking about BTC and less time talking about bitciontalk and people will forget this entire post.

Have these 5 domains as a lot.
Have them up on the namesilo marketplace for $25000 each knowing that they more then likely will never move at that price.

Most offers have been coming in at a couple of thousand each but as of now nobody has offered to take them all, wondering if anyone here would want them as a lot.

939  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Looking for source code audit service on: July 06, 2023, 04:36:47 PM
So not code auditing as much as funds traceability.

Still can't give an answer without more details. Since, there are 2 parts to the question.

1) Can someone de-compile the code / app and figure out how it works and trace things that way

and

2) Can you just follow the funds.

If it's just a website, #1 does not come into play. If there is an app then it does.
1a) would be if it's just a website has anyone audited the back end code for issues that could be exploited to trace the funds
1b) would be if it's just a website is there any back end code that pulls from other places that need to be checked
See: https://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/pl/security/news/cybercrime-and-digital-threats/hacker-infects-node-js-package-to-steal-from-bitcoin-wallets

and
2a) Would be who is controlling the funds. i.e. if you send to this app and it sends to exchange A and then triggers a conversion and then sends those coins to exchange B and then triggers a conversion back and sends the coins, since the funds would be out of their control for a period of time it all becomes irreverent since we would never know what the exchanges are doing.

940  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What is the logic reason behind legacy/segwit wallet address not sending Bitcoin on: July 06, 2023, 01:14:14 PM
For exchanges and other places I wonder if in addition to not wanting to touch or change the code if they can't
Are they just a custom front end on a white label back end that does all the processing for a bunch of places and if THEY don't change the code there really is nothing that the people who are using it can do.

Yes, places like Binance and other large exchanges have no excuse, and we know it's all about profit.
But, some of the smaller ones? Are they doing it all themselves or are they using Dave's Exchange Back End and since I didn't update it, they are stuck.
