Hey Jocuserious, you don't know whether the project is dead? Did I miss something? I mean, if you don't know it, then who the heck could know it? Project is fine. Apparently, just a drama filled evening from a holder on Telegram. But Brendan's comment from the beginning of the chat was reposted. Apparently he is an investor. That's not something terrible to find out considering that Peerplays and EOS are both Graphene projects. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As for devs profiting from their creations, I think that they can set up their own parameters...it's up to them. I imagine more info on that will be available when Eight is finally released.

I still have unclaimed ICO tokens. Is there a deadline to claim them or can I wait forever before claiming?
They'll remain there forever until you claim them. Helmbet testnet is released. I know. Apparently the witnesses need to get their part of the thing going, which ties in with Eight, prior to actual launch. At any rate, if you are interested in checking out what it will look like, download the Windows dApp here.NOTE - You will have to create a testnet account first here. Then use that login information on the downloaded dApp. So...apparently, we're waiting on the witnesses...who were only given partial information a day or two ago.

Hi,
when i try to start the Peerplays core client, i keep getting "Can’t Connect to Blockchain". Already tried 2 different PCs.
Any advice?
According to the Telegram Channel, there is an issue with the default API settings and it is currently being looked at. Also, here are a few things that happened yesterday for those who don't get a chance to follow the Telegram. 1. Countdown for "HelmBet", the RPS game with Unity 3D, has been posted. 2. Testnet for Eight seems to be going live. Link to the Peerplays Bulletin - http://www.peerplays.com/news/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Peerplays-Public-Testnet.pdfText for those who would rather not click - Peerplays is managed by block signing “witness” node operators who have been elected by PPY token holders to ensure the successful operation and maintenance of the blockchain. From the https://github.com/PBSA/peerplays-core-gui/releases wallet, PPY token holders can vote (and also remove their votes) for individual Peerplays witness node operators by selectingthe vote tab and entering a witness account name. This link contains a list of the Peerplays accounts that are registered to operate witness nodes. Witness account names: https:/ /peerplaysdb.com/witnesses.To continue to achieve the highest standards of software security for the Peerplays blockchain, PBSA strongly suggests that all Peerplays witness node operators immediately begin to participate in a parallel public “testnet”blockchain(s). Independent software developers may create, distribute and support front - end applications that “plug-in” and communicate directly with the Peerplays blockchain, using API libraries written in languages such as Javascript, Python, andUnity to name a few. These developers may choose to support “testreleases” of such front-end apps by contributing a compiled version(s) for public beta testing on the Peerplays public testnet(s). The distribution of testnet core token(ie.“PPYTEST”) maybe managed by self-selected individuals or groups within the Peerplays witness community, while the remainder of the codebase for the testnet mirrors the live Peerplays Blockchain. This information about how to operate a graphene public testnet may be modified to support Peerplays-graphene. Self-selected individuals or groups within the Peerplays witness community may then choose to operate a private faucet( 1, 2) to deliver PPYTEST tokens from the parallel public testnet to independent software developers or associated parties to support their use of the public testnet.

Thanks for all the responses Jocuserious. You are keeping this thread alive as good as possible Would be great to have PPY on more exchanges with more liquidity. Not the best situation right now. I do it because I am pretty sure that when Peerplays is ready, it's going to rock. In November. Exchange situation is what it is. People need to understand that the SEC statement changed a lot of things. It's not so easy to get listed on Bittrex anymore. I remember when they added everything.

Wasn't there some ETA for the first dividends to be paid out? I can't recall what I exactly read about that. I might also be mistaken. Anyone?
Need Dapps first and then people using the Dapps. Currently, Eight (Dapp infrastructure and RPS) and Bookie (decentralized sports betting) are the expected releases this year with Sweeps (Decentralized Lotto) due sometime early next year. There is some interesting news that was released today on the Telegram channel though... eXeBlock’s President and CEO Jonathan Baha’i was the founder and principal designer of PeerPlays, a leading blockchain technology or DAPP designed to be used widely throughout in the gaming industry. Alexei Dulub, lead front-end programmer in the development of PeerPlays, will be a key member of eXeBlock’s senior management team. eXeBlock employs a team of blockchain programmers currently developing two innovative blockchain DAPPs. eXeBlock will release proof of concept and white papers outlining the operating parameters of the first DAPP by the end of the calendar year, and the second in the first half of next year. Specifics relating to the DAPP’s purpose, market potential and operating protocols will remain confidential until the white paper release date. Further, eXeBlock has plans to launch a minimum of two blockchain based DAPP each year. Link to Canadian Press ReleaseEssentially, a private company is dedicated to producing more Dapps which means there might be more in the pipeline then what I listed above...which is pretty awesome. Here is a link to Jonathan's Steemit post on the topic - https://steemit.com/peerplays/@jonathan.bahai/my-new-roll-as-ceo-of-exeblock-and-what-it-means-for-peerplaysIt does kind of seem like things are moving slowly but I think that they are getting the infrastructure ready (which doesn't really require a ton of updates) and things are getting ready to start popping. Pretty exciting! Edit to Add - I'm not sure about dividends... I do not even see a location in the wallet where this may show up.
Don't quote me but I am pretty sure that the dividend code is inherent within the blockchain which means that dividends will just automatically show up and be found as a wallet transaction wherever that is listed. I don't there is a dedicated space...unless you are talking about dividends from crypto other than PPY (like BTC and whatever else gets voted on). If that is what you are referring to then I think there will be a wallet upgrade when that functionality is ready (which was mentioned to be Q4 of this year...probably/hopefully around Bookie release). But that is my presumption/guess. I don't actually know.

Does anyone have any idea why the Peerplays price is down substantially lately? According to CoinMarketCap.com, the coin is now ranked #133.
Perhaps it's speculators dumping ahead of a general market selloff.
Well. All alts are pretty much down right now because Bitcoin is raging. Couple that with speculators moving into any number of new coins for the initial pumps and the fact that this coin is more or less developing their product prior to marketing and I'm not surprised to see the drop. People don't realize that Peerplays will be the first with a functioning Prediction Market/decentralized sports exchange...when Bookie launches in November. I don't think that there is anything to worry about here. The roadmap is on schedule, the lead dev is active on Telegram and we're getting ready for the release of Eight at the end of the month. You know how fast things change in crypto...
