For the naming process, I think maybe just name the current Crypti Lite Wallet, to just the Crypti Wallet. And the current Crypti (Full) Wallet to Crypti Daemon or Crypti Node (just like in Bitcoin). Though it doesn't make much difference in my opinion.

Was there supposed to be a change in delegate fee today?  Somehow I had that impression...

Today something else will be released. It will enhance the user experience dramatically. Wink

I will make the announcement as soon as I have the download links, probably in a few hours.

Any more info for us? Wink

OP updated.

I hope you like it. Smiley

I know Easter has passed, but I found a few Easter Eggs in there :  Usernames, Multi-Sig, Encrypted Messages, Avatars  Wink

Great job!

@Crypti Team

We've been hearing about the new Crypti Wallet (Lite Client), with it's new UI/UX Design for a while now. Any chance we could see a few screenshots Wink?

I was asking questions about this "issues/drawbacks" months and pages ago, but devs prefer first "issue" this issues and only then "put effort to fight through them", that is very very wrong approach imho. Roll Eyes

Keep in mind that DPOS needed to be launched first (as far as issues with delegates go)...  although you're probably speaking generally.

You never know...  perhaps toned down posts like this last one will eventually lead to better communication with the Crypti team.

I'm starting to get the sense that forum setups don't help in situations like these...  maybe IRC is better...  I don't know anymore!   Grin

There's always CryptiChat : http://www.cryptichat.me/, Boris, Barie, karmacoma24 and myself are online most of the time there on IRC.  Wink

Wulf,

Your uptime is still 100%...... what are you using to host the delegate?

I'm using DigitalOcean. I've got probably the lowest-end droplet, but I'm running it on Ubuntu 14.04 (64-bit), on a New York Datacenter. Full details here : http://forum.crypti.me/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=27&p=85#p85

@Wulf

In regards to this, can you create a delegate thread at the official forums here: http://forum.crypti.me/viewforum.php?f=17 and maybe post some details on how you are hosting (i.e. datacenter location, hardware specifications, etc). Thanks!

Thanks for all your responces.

7. I personally believe the registration fee is too high. This will be an action item at our meeting on Sunday. I intend to propose lowering the registration fee to 1,000 XCR to register a delegate. I will also propose refunding the other 9,000 XCR already paid to those who registered prior to the change. After the meeting we will announce any changes. Like anything, it must come to a vote, so there is no guarantee.
The problem is lack of interest. What do you (or we) need is technology evangelists, who will popularize crypti "selling points"/features/technologies at bitsharestalk and nxtforum. There is not enough of them (features) today.

So I see the plan like this one:

1. Release 0.2.1 with new features (I heard once about "escrow" feature).
2. The 0.2.1 release must include new/beautifil wallet design.
3. The Delegate Rewarde Program must started at x5 rates at 0.2.1 relase.
4. Crypti evangelists must to populate this new features at BTT, nxtforum and bitsharestalk.

Sometimes I think that you guys think that after CBC release, or Dapp release it would be a wave of interest by itself, without marketing efforts. No, it wouldn't. All your future plans must include this negative assumption.

You are misunderstanding our lack of marketing. The network is in it's infancy as is our technology. We would rather build and test with a smaller dedicated community than throw 100,000 users at a new unproven technology. We have extensive marketing plans once all features are fully complete and we feel as though we have a market ready system. This will most likely be after CBC (which will launch the DApp store and entirely new wallet, which if I do say so myself, blows everything out of the water, including Mist).

So I'm guessing you also read this : https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/vitalik-buterin-conducts-ama-re-ethereum/   Wink

For those of who who didn't read the article it shows a screenshot of Mist (Ethereum's base client) :

As you can see it shows you how good the new Crypti wallet will look considering the Mist client already looks quite good, also it shows that the Crypti team are keeping an eye out on the "competition".

Do you plan to update OP ?

What's going on?

By the way, am I right that nobody can't be voted as a delegate, even if the guy with 8 410 009 XCR (the third wallet) will vote for starik69, it doesn't matter, cause the foundation controlling the majority votes FOREVER Huh

Check out few last pages, this question was answered several times.

Ok. I have reread the last posts. I've found two answers, each of which is not answering my quistion: Will the foundation be forever the only force, who will decide to whom to be a delegate?

Quote from: Litoshi
The Delegate Reward Peogram will be started after we fix a few issues, and have a stable network.  The foundation delegates will also to voted down so others can forge.  It was necesary to have delegates with votes higher than what the largest XCR holder could produce.  HINT: Bter has 26 Million XCR still.

This poster just says that if foundation wants it would vote down its delegates. And if it doesn't want it can (HAS AN ABILITY) to be the only power who deciedes.

Theoretically community voting power is 89% compared to the foundation 11%, so everything depends on us.

Yep, as far as I know that's correct

Hey guys

Is there a minimum transaction amount needed register to become a Delegate or enforce a second password on your account?

I've tried to create a new account for forging only (for security reasons I didn't use my own current account), and sent 10 000 XCR to it, and attempted to register to become a Delegate, but I got an error saying : "Invalid transaction amount." I've created around 10 more transactions (just sending 10-25 XCR back and forth between accounts), but still the same error occurs.

What is the minimum transaction amount needed to become a Delegate (if any)?

10,000 XCR in your 0.2 version wallet.  Make sure you are not using 0.1.9.  If so, you are on the wrong block chain.

100 XCR for second pass word.

Delegate can forge with 0 balance if there are enough votes to place in the top 101.

If you are 10228249788283002226C, you have 12000 in the node,a nd shoudl be able to register the delegate.

Okay, I found the problem, I was using http://wallet.crypti.me (I thought it was possible to use the web client) to register my Delegate, I used the local client on my PC and it worked.

Okay as most of you may know, CryptiChat : http://www.cryptichat.me/, has been in BETA for about 2 weeks now, and after quite a bit of testing and use, I'm ready for it to officially launch.

So coinciding with the launch of 0.2.0 (Chronos), as of today Cryptichat, is officially launched!

XCR Giveaway

I'll be hosting a 5K XCR Giveaway tomorrow night at 9PM UTC, whoever wants to receive some of the 5K XCR all you'll need to do is join the chat to receive your free XCR. You'll see the rest of the info when you connect Wink

The release of Chronos

Finally we can announce the release of v0.2.0 alias Chronos. Besides various bug fixes and speed improvements, we introduce our new consensus mechanism with it. It's called DPoS (Delegates Proof-of-Stake) and it is suited the best for our later releases (Dapp Store). At our blog post An introduction to DPoS you can read more about DPoS.

Our latest blog post shows everything you need to know about this release. If you encounter any issues, then please post them to our Helpdesk. We will happily help you out with them. If you want to become a delegate you can also ask in the Helpdesk.

Thank you all that you waited the whole day. We were very busy all the time and it was quite complicated for us all, as we are living throughout the whole world. Some of us are awake since 24h, but we think that it was all worth it! Smiley

Edit:

A few more things about the Forging and Delegate features.
- It costs you 10,000 XCR to be a delegate
- You need enough votes to get into the top 101 to actually forge and earn XCR that way
- It takes a maximum of 17 minutes (one full round 101*10sec) to see your votes

Bumping this to the new page.

How long will it take to reach Angelina Jolie? Grin

She is rather tall Tobo........ I would say you must grow another 4-6 inches and wear elevator shoes to reach her.   Grin Grin

That depends where the 4-6 inches must grow......../grabs popcorn

v0.2.0 release

We are proud to announce the release of v0.2.0 alias Chronos! Chronos, the personification of time, marks the beginning of a new Crypti era, from here on there only one path exists and this is the path to the top.

All latest tests by our team were very successful and the public beta is running for 3 weeks without any problems. Therefore we are finally able to launch it. The Chronos update includes hundreds of backend improvements and fixes and a whole new consensus mechanism called DPoS (Delegates Proof-of-Stake).

With DPoS, our blockchain will have an entirely different structure, therefore we will create a new blockchain from scratch. For this we will save every balance from the old blockchain and transfer it to our new one. All transaction history will be deleted and only the final XCR amount will be left in your account. So if you need your transaction history you have to save it now.

Due to this we make this pre-announcement so that everyone can prepare themselves. We will start to update our nodes tomorrow at 7:00 AM UTC. It is very important that you don't do any transactions in this time frame, until we give our OK! (It may take several hours or the whole day!) Every transaction after 7:00 AM UTC in the v0.1.9g Crypti branch will not appear in the Chronos (v0.2.0) branch.

We already contacted the exchanges and they will stop the withdrawal and deposit tomorrow as well.

If you are a Crypti node owner we ask you to turn off your nodes tomorrow at 7:00 AM UTC. We will upload v0.2.0 as soon as possible tomorrow so you take a look yourself.

In the beginning we will host the entire network on our own delegate nodes. These are the so called genesisDelegates and will be replaced one after another with "real" delegates. It will be very important that you will upvote the delegate nodes of our loyal community members in the future. But we will give you more information and tutorials about this soon.

For now we want to thank you all for your trust.

The Crypti Foundation

I was thinking yesterday about Crypti and it's low marketcap. And I found that it just has not enough "selling points" for end-user. Yes, it has some "selling points" for investors, for example:
- wonderful team
- funding
- fair long-term plans and attitude

But it hasen't to much selling points/features for XCR regular user.
NEM has:
  1) beautiful wallet design. Crypti hasn't.
NXT has:
  1) beautiful wallet design
  2) in wallet asset exchange (so regular user can speculate there)
Bitshares has:
  1) DPOS
  2) Derivatives to make and play
Qora has
  1) Voting system

Today (in 2015) the ability to send and recieve virtual tokens in 1 minute is not enough.

The first selling point for XCR is DPOS, before that XCR is just bored Undecided

Here is the first NXT thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=303898.0 BCNext wrote:

I got some offers, on the launch or shortly after it we will have the following services:

1]  Faucet.  It will be funded by our donations
2]  Currency exchange.  Classical BTC-to-NXT-n-back exchange
3]  Stock exchange.  If I got it correctly this is going to be a simplified (for non-pro traders) version of a stock exchange, can be used for crowdfunding
4]  Virtual goods store.  The goods will be provided by ordinary users (books, links, game codes, anything represented as plain text)

I know that XCR team tries to make Virtual Apps store, and before this happen, before the killer app for end-user is out, we can't talk seriously about 1 USD per 1 XCR.

First of, we need DPoS to even work properly. Imagine a NXT POS algorithm which occasionally delivers a 30min blocktime. Good luck waiting for your confirmation for your coffee or the 10 confirmations to the exchange if you are in a hurry.

Only this is a huge PLUS for Crypti, we will offer constant 10sec blocks. You will never have to wait anymore for a block, you know for sure, that there will be one in 10sec. (If a delegate is bad, it will not forge and thus the next one will forge, making the blocktime 20sec.)

Regarding the other things you mentioned, just wait a month and you will be astonished. Grin

Btw, NXT has a standard template for its client (http://cdn3.freshdesignweb.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Free-AdminLTE-Dashboard-and-Control-Panel.jpg) and NEM client is NOT beautiful IMHO. But they will probably enhance it in the future.

Any news on 0.2.0 launch? I spoke to Boris yesterday and he said he was testing it yesterday with the new fee structure. Any solid deadline on when we can expect 0.2.0 to release?

Hey guys

Any update on 0.2.0's release date? I know you guys were discussing the new fee structure, have you come to a decision yet? As for the BTER situation there's currently ~ 23.7 Million XCR left there in both cold and hot wallets. Is all that's left to decide on the new fee structure before launching 0.2.0?
