With just a 5 minute look at a few profiles it's obvious that there are some really talented people on Dribble. Do you know what average pricing is for these guys? What kind of salaries do they typically look for (U.S. based designers)?

It depends really by designer, freelancing usually costs the most as it's a one off occasion, if you're hiring a team, it wouldn't be viable to hire them full time. What I would recommend is hiring a team (like CreativeDash) on a 2-month contract instead of full time. It would be better than having a single "in-house" full-time designer working day and night to get designs done, plus it would help get the new Crypti branding up within a flash.

Once you've completed the new Crypti branding and Wallet UI/Website, then only would I recommend hiring a full-time in house designer.

Trust me though when I say, these guys are talented, they are bloody quick too. They could overhaul virtually every possible element of Crypti's design within 2 weeks, that's including mock-ups, revisions, drafts, UX design, art direction work, design guidelines (for future designers) etc.

EDIT : If you'd like I could give you a list of the best design teams and designers (in addition to the ones I've already shown you) and put you in touch with them.

For the introductory video I would recommend these people :

Motion Authors - http://www.motionauthors.com/ (Hands down best team in the industry)

Examples

Life in Hi-Fi - http://vimeo.com/91251467
Hider - http://vimeo.com/99602187
Stoodify - http://vimeo.com/93122461
Comr-se - http://vimeo.com/80853584

Jer - https://dribbble.com/evilj

Oliver Sin  - http://www.oliversin.com/

Lucas Marinm  - http://www.lucasmarinm.com/work

Markus Magnusson  - https://dribbble.com/MarkusM

Take note though that the cost for these introductory videos range from between $2000 to $4000, though these people are easily the best in the industry.

Another item I would like to see on the list of things to implement, although not directly to XCR the coin, is an email distribution list for wallet/forge updates, Major announcements, etc.

informer

We have a mailchimp account and will have a signup membership to be Foundation members as well as one to be notified of updates. This will all be part of the site re-design.

When can we expect the re-design by? Also GreXX any update on the expanded info for the roadmap?

I should have the expanded info up tonight or tomorrow.

As far as the re-design, we are having trouble finding the right designer and are still interviewing candidates. We will let you all know when someone is hired and we begin work.

If you really want to hire the best designers out there, post a Job Listing on Dribbble : https://dribbble.com/jobs. Companies like Facebook, Google, Amazon, Microsoft etc have all sourced designers from Dribbble. There is no single place where you can find better talented designers than on Dribbble.

You can even hire multiple designers and organize them to work in teams, much like what Dropbox is doing : https://dribbble.com/dropbox. I guarantee you, that you will find the best designers on Dribbble, there is no other place like it.

Secondly, why hire only one designer? Given the amount of funding, I would recommend hiring two designers, with one specializing in UI/UX and the other in Web Design. That way you can delegate design tasks between them, the UX designer could design the mock-ups and hand it over to the other to code it. Secondly with separate designers for each design field you could have one working on the wallet UI and the other on the new site.

You could also hire entire teams to do your initial design work. The team will have it's own internal developers, web designers, UI Designers, Motion Authors etc. For example here is one of the leading design teams : https://dribbble.com/Creativedash

The last thing I recommend is providing Design Guidelines for new designers coming into the team. Once Crypti has been re-branded and everything has settled down it is critical that your current designers create a "Guidelines" so that new designers that come into the team can maintain the same design style that was previously used. For example here's a typical design guideline presentation from another company : http://www.julienrenvoye.fr/corefx/

365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your biggest profit on: August 30, 2014, 08:47:17 PM
Auroracoin, one of my biggest profits and my biggest downfall.

I invested 15 BTC in the pump (all I had at the time), watched it go to 18 BTC, and sold  in the morning at the mini-crash. Checked later on Cryptsy and saw that had I held it for another 6 hours, I would have made 40 BTC from my initial 15 BTC investment (incidentally, when it hit its all time high). I bought again when it crashed and had I sold at the top of the rebound I would have made 25 BTC at the top. Though for some unknown reason I didn't sell and I kept thinking it would go higher, eventually I watched my investment dwindle from 25 BTC to a mere 4 BTC as the market crashed within 2 days, all the while thinking that it would rebound. I've been rebuilding my BTC reserves ever since that.

TL;DR - Invested 15 BTC in Auroracoin, could have made 40 BTC at its high, ended up with only 4 BTC after the crash.

@Devs

Are you using Slack as your team management platform? I was going to create a Crypti channel for community members to work on projects to help promote Crypti, but I saw that the domain was already taken, and it corresponds with the Crypti website :

Yeah Wulf, we use Redbooth for the majority of task management, but Slack for real-time chat and meetings because it's much better than the built in chat in Redbooth.

Ah okay, just a suggestion, if you guys want to upgrade your task management software, take a look at Flow : http://www.getflow.com/, it's much more user and work friendly than RedBooth. Pricing is around the same too.

Jeez, why are you guys panicking about the price? This thing happens every time each month towards the end of the month. Prices and volume drop across the board as people cash out to pay their expenses. Ask Litoshi, he's probably the most experienced trader here.

Personally, I'm not really doing any day trading at the moment, because I know that once custom block chains and the first Crypti apps are released, the bottom price of Crypti would be 20K Satoshi.

WHO ME???  I'M BUYING

LOL, I was referring to the fact that prices and volume drop across the board towards the end of each month. I'm buying up as well at the moment.

We already taken it, access only with crypti.me emails.

I don't know, maybe we can change something in settings and make discussion for all.

I HIGHLY recommend this. The Crypti IRC channel is dead, and frankly I don't think we should any time on it, secondly most users are split between BitcoinTalk and CryptiTalk and it isn't helping much as our community is divided. I suggest that we make one channel the "hub" for all Crypti communications, and I think Slack is the perfect place for that.

370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Crowdsale has begun[Updates & Discussion] on: August 30, 2014, 01:42:37 PM
1000 were issued on the asset exchange but for a long time they couldn't even get 500 to claim a token.  Now it's 717 who have claimed a token and only a fraction of them have sold.  There's only ever like 10 NEMstake being listed for sale and like half of them are listed above 30K NXT.

Dump our NEM for what?  Nobody here has 5% or 10% of NEM.  Even if we see 2 cent NEM by December I don't need $20K from that for anything in my immediate life.

I'm assuming a token is a stake. Is it still possible to claim a token in a method other than buying it off the AE.
371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Crowdsale has begun[Updates & Discussion] on: August 30, 2014, 01:29:40 PM
Someone explain the crowdsale...
http://altnemo.com/

How does buying $90 an ounce silver when the price is only $20 help anybody  Huh

Why not buy 2 ounces of silver and then with the left over $50 buy some NEMstake or use the money to buy NEM when it launches ...

It's a fundraiser...
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Crowdsale has begun[Updates & Discussion] on: August 30, 2014, 01:29:11 PM
Thanks for your quick replies everyone. Please note that I wasn't trying to spread FUD or anything, I was under the impression that original NEM stakeholders received everything for free. I've currently spent around 1.8 BTC to get my 1.6 NEMStake, and I thought that I was paying in excess of $750 to receive something that others paid $0 for.

Also is there anyway to help contribute to the languages? I'm fluent in 3 languages, and I'd love to help add a couple more to the NCC list.
373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Crowdsale has begun[Updates & Discussion] on: August 30, 2014, 12:54:27 PM
Okay there's one thing I don't understand.  4000 NEMStakes were issued, 1000 Stakes went to the NXT Asset Exchange, but the rest are just issued out for free to the original stakeholders. So essentially as soon as real NEM is issued there will be a mega-dump from all those who received stakes for free?

Any update on the Windows Wallet?

We are still working on compiling the Node modules for Windows.
While we have progress, it takes somewhat longer than expected.

An update with links to test Windows version will be posted once we have it running.

Okay no problem, is that why you've been holding out on 0.16?

EDIT : Just saw the above post, great work, that means one-click forging is on track Smiley

@Devs

I've setup a NodeBB forum and it seems to be working perfectly. Could you tell us what stability issues you guys were having? Did NodeBB experience instability under stress tests?

Without hiring another developer to help customize and setup the forum the way we wanted it, we were having issues getting it to function the way we wanted it to. If you use the default template and simply install the base install, it functions ok. That being said, we couldn't afford to take Boris off of finishing Crypti and we didn't have the finds to hire a secondary developer to help us setup the forum the way we wanted it to function, therefore, as I said when I announced the decision to go with SMF, we weren't ruling it out all together, but at the time it just wasn't working for what we wanted to do.

We tested it internally for a couple weeks and the default just wasn't appealing to members of our team and to do the adjustments we wanted was going to take development work and customizations we couldn't do at the time. I still haven't written off the idea of using it, you know I am a fan, but we will have to re-visit it at a later time.

If you want to develop a NodeBB forum, customize it to not use the masonry style homepage, and get it to a stable point with all of the features necessary for our community (for instance if you can get the homepage modules to work, that was one thing that was bricking for me with the theme we were trying to use), then we would be more than willing to talk about having it be the official forums for the devs to use to answer questions, etc. As long as I can get admin privaleges to assign moderators and control the private forums for members, then I would be happy to discuss it.

Were you using Majestic v3/v4 as the theme?

Okay, I can set up, edit and customize the NodeBB forum, as long as you're still open to the idea of using it Smiley. I'm using the default theme currently and there aren't any problems here at the moment, I'm going to test it out soon though with a couple of separate themes to see the results.

A first go-to point. http://crypti.ws/

I'm currently thinking about several project ideas. But for these I need more API information and calls. Smiley

Great work bud. Could you open-source it to GitHub so that we can help contribute to it as well?

What do you want to open-source? The project I want to start or the current crypti.ws?

The current Crypti.ws, I could push a few commits to the website and help you tidy it up a bit.  Smiley

Just write me the commits in private or via the contact formular. We can also write via skype if you want. Smiley

Great, I'll send you the commits later on tonight.
