Who sold 23 btc? I hope it is the whales that are catching up this, otherwise it is doomed.
Almost zero activity-check
spreading doom talk- check

Fact: Propably someone trying to buy cheap so he is trying to start panic sell first. Doesnt work though.

Not trying to spread some doom talk, that was fact. I'm just curious who can be able to sell such large amounts at this price level. Not many traders can sit on that. Wondering where it comes from, one day before announcement...

Sorry if I was little harsh but look at the rich list...it propably was more people than one.

And people know tomorrow there will be reason for price going higher, so they are trying to lower price so they can repurchase more coins :-)

I've been monitoring the market as well over the last few hours, and to me it seems like someone is trying to manipulate the price. This EXACT same process happened two days ago, a few hours before the wallet update was posted. It seems like a few people are trying to push the price down in an attempt to acquire more coins before the whitepaper announcement.

I agree with you, looks like huge accumulation between 4000-3500 sat.  It will be interesting to see what will happen coming day(s).

If you look at it every time there's a breakout above 4K, "fake" sell walls appear and drive the price down and you see people panic sell into big buy walls. This process has been happening everyday for the last 4 or 5 days. It's nothing more than a few people trying to acquire more coins at this price level by suppressing the price.

I feel that at least the picture of the wallet should be in the OP, this is hard to find for someone who just heard about Silk.

There is a .GIF of the wallet in action in the OP. Just wait for it to load.

Evening everyone  Smiley

To any of you watching the markets, there's some strong buy support building up on the exchanges, it could indicate a rally to establish a new support floor in the 4K region.
786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | NOW on MintPal / Cryptsy | FULL POS on: June 17, 2014, 09:14:39 PM
Why not have Poloniex in there also?

Poloniex have a few API issues, therefore it's a bit harder for the devs to integrate it.

Understandable, it's not the end of the world was just wondering Smiley Thanks, Wulf

No problem bud, remember to check back Friday  Wink

As promised the new wallet version is out today. And as always I'll update you with the latest news from the devs.

--Update is not mandatory--

-- Mac will be released later tonight, I'm going to get the mac right now to build the compile--

Let's start by talking about this update.

We listened to all you had to say and tried our best to improve the current wallet and solve all the current bugs and glitches.

*Lot's of UI improvements, fonts more readable, visual glitches solved ui parts finished. Also a few network bugs were solved.
*An unlock button right in your Dashboard, just beside the stacking tutorial for new comers.
*A whole new Market Data tab with MintPal, Bittrex and Cryptsy integrated. You asked for Mintpal and an overview panel, you got it Smiley. This is in prevision of the next update built-in exchanger, I'll talk about that later in this post.
*A few IRC bugs solved, as you may have noticed the client was still in construction. No more points instead of spaces and a much better response time.
*And yes we also integrated the "Minimize to taskbar" button on top of the "Minimize to tray" since a lot of you complained about missing it.

Now let's talk about the roadmap.. Most of the time as you have seen in the past we prefer releasing than talking about it for days because announcing great features always bring haters, fudders, impatients and pumpers. But this time I'll let you know a bit more what the current plans are and what the future holds for Silkcoin.

Next Update :

Will be in ~10 days, we will integrate the exchange feature into the market tab and a trading bot is coming but it's not 100% sure it will be included in the next release with trading.
Due to a big community demand games will be integrated in the wallet, at first it will be a simple betting game but we plan to expand this area in the future.
Also a big rework is being done on the IRC tab. After the next update we'll start to have a decent wallet  Wink.

The eco-system :

The release of the white paper is still planned for the end of the week so I will not talk a lot about it this time. If everything goes well we will start the beta phase about 2 weeks after the white paper, the beta should not last for long as the system is already very solid and we're constantly running tests.

For those of you who were criticizing the lack of informations, I will still give you the same arguments : we started Silkcoin without talking about the eco-system and did not want to unveil it so soon because we knew without a white paper it would attract fudders & paranoļa. Also a lot of "secrets" are present in this white paper, we want to make sure we're advanced enough on the development sid before making it public. But I reassure you, it's not quite finished I'm not making you wait Wink.

Anyway it's been 1 month and 8 days, judge by what you seen. We're at the 5th update and our community is growing stronger everyday, the wallet is now far away from the others and even if you look at our clones they can't even hold the speed of our updates or worse can't even copy our existing features.

Dev Roadmap:

Here is the order of priority and how the most important events of silkcoin are supposed to happen in the next 30 days:

- First the release of the White Paper Friday.
- Followed by a big update including the built-in exchanger and first game
- Private beta for the eco-system will begin
- Then we'll launch the Multi-pool, we're already talking with a few pool managers who are interested in working with us, but we haven't decided yet; We may build it ourself.
- The launch of the Eco-system with social features and decentralized exchanger. For now this is planned in ~1 month, it can be faster but it can also be delayed.
- The launch of the decentralized marketplace, yes we reconsidered it and we will launch the marketplace with a trust system we'll explain later.

The rest of the roadmap is still uncertain regarding timeframes but will include for sure :

- 2FA authentification, our devs have already started the work on double signatures this is not going to be a very long dev so it may come as a surprise feature Wink.
- Blockchain games in the wallet, followed by network games (all betting games, first game will be introduced next release).
- Anon, I would prefer not to talk a lot about it but we've been working for quite a long time now on Zerocoin implementation, it's not finished at all but yet shows promise since we thought it would've been impossible to integrate but we got back on it and found some interesting solutions.. We find most of the other alternatives (the one we can apply like darksend) not interesting.
Once again most of the time I prefer avoiding the subject because it atracts and feeds fudders and also because this is not the main feature, the eco-system is.
- A few other functions for the eco-system we currently looking what we could do without bloating the blockchain. You'll understand soon why we have endless possibilities when you read the white paper Smiley.

Well now you know what to expect.

Enjoy the new version, enjoy Silkcoin and good trades to you !

See you Friday for the white paper  Cool

Ps : I'm updating all links with the new wallet

Make a note everyone, Friday is the day Wink

792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | NOW on MintPal / Cryptsy | FULL POS on: June 16, 2014, 08:23:04 PM
To all those watching the market, the trader who put up sell orders all the way through the 4-5K price levels, has dumped his/her coins and nearly all the sell orders through to 5K have been subsequently removed. This now means that only 8 BTC is needed to get to 5K.
793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | NOW on MintPal / Cryptsy | FULL POS on: June 16, 2014, 05:40:02 PM
The silkcoin wallet suddenly wont load on win 8.1 anymore Sad

Is an error message being displayed or is it simply not loading anymore?
794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | NOW on MintPal / Cryptsy | FULL POS on: June 16, 2014, 03:43:38 PM
Seeing the price of this coin drop like this is very painful.. We need another huge update ASAP to get this coin back on its feet, but as long as dev is active and community still active then price will rise guaranteed in the near future.

Dude update tomorrow, White paper friday. How can you ask for more?

What update is coming tomorrow?

A wallet update is coming out tomorrow
795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | NOW on MintPal / Cryptsy | FULL POS on: June 16, 2014, 12:07:16 PM
I find this coin interesting from a creative perspective although I'm not sure why other than the slick website and clear market momentum.  If I may ask a moronic Monday question about POS.  How is POS any different from a instamined scam coin if the POW stage ends so quickly that the distribution is definitely consolidated to a bunch of greedy SOBs?

SilkCoin had 2 PoW phases to ensure that there was a good distribution of the coins. The first PoW phase was pre-announced, allowing miners enough time to regroup their resources to mine SilkCoin. After the initial PoW phase there was a one month phase of full PoS.

This month long PoS phase allowed us time to build a proper foundation for SilkCoin before the second PoW phase and hence SilkCoin had grown a lot more popular and had garnered a lot more attention and visibility than in the first PoW phase.

This meant that there were far more miners in the second PoW phase leading to better distribution of the coin supply. Evidence as to the distribution can be found here : http://explorer.silk-coin.com/richlist/ where you can see how well distributed SC is.

Any news from the dev.
Just been going through the forum and after reading all these negative posts on here I kinda feel it would be nice to hear from the silkcoin dev to aid some
re-assurance around here. It's just a personal thought..!  Smiley

There's a wallet update incoming tomorrow and the whitepaper for the Eco-System is being released on Friday/Saturday this week.
797  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | NOW on MintPal / Cryptsy | FULL POS on: June 16, 2014, 08:37:10 AM
Oh wow!!!  Shocked we're now on Cryptsy as well! Cool Cool Cool
We've got 4 of the top exchanges covered Grin Grin
This coin is destined for great things and I'm glad I got my little stash!   Grin Cool

Just one thing I can't seem to figure out. I got my wallet unlocked and open all day for the past 3-4 days but I don't think I'm staking  Huh
What do I need to do to start staking my SC? Thanks!

Have you set a reserve balance under Settings? That might be your problem, if not send us a screenshot of your wallet and we'll see what we can do.

Looks like they just started on the wallet not too long ago and it looks danged good.  Can't wait until they put in more improvements to really set this coin apart from all the others!

Updates are coming tomorrow, so stay tuned Wink
