Is it just me or does this coin seem seriously undervalued, compared to other PoS coins? I don't see much posts about it, but with a maximum supply of 100 million (from PoW) there seems for tons of room for growth. What's the catch?
we are not in final POS yet ,, black coin dipped to 600 at one point in its first month , look at it now? This is a sleeping giant, everyone that opens the wallet and actually takes a look knows this, Price has been stable .. for a new coin... only way is up Q Yeah but even so, once PoS kicks in, there won't me much more than 100 million. Compared to other PoS at that stage, it should be a lot higher. I'm still heavily invested in BlackCoin, mined it from the start and bought on the dips. There was a lot of good news surrounding the coin and it still will grow a huge chunk in the coming months. It just surprises me that so many absolute crap coins with about the same amount of coins, easily make it up to 10k-30k satoshi. I still really have the feeling I'm missing something  What Quantam said is absolutely correct. Once the second PoW phase kicks in we will see miners coming in the drives to Silkcoin, that means more exposure and more people downloading and opening up our wallet. Considering the fact that many still haven't heard of Silkcoin, yes we can be termed a sleeping giant. With regards to the coin supply the total supply will be around 61/62 Million rather than 100 Million. |

My estimation is that Silk Coin will actually Finish the second Proof of Work phase at around 62 Million coins. Here is the breakdown... PHASE 1: Block 1 - 10,000 - Hybrid PoW/PoS phase. Each PoW block is 5,000 but each PoS block is a lot less. Total Coins = 30,695,668.26610486 http://explorer.silk-coin.com/chain/SilkCoin?count=2016&hi=10000PHASE 2: Block 10,000 - 50000 - Full Proof of Stake. Each PoS block is varies... we are at Block 28604... Total Coins = 30,700,962.40812524 http://explorer.silk-coin.com/chain/SilkCoin?count=2016&hi=28604PHASE 3: Block 50001 - 60000 - Hybrid PoW/PoS phase (COMING UP IN APPROX 2 WEEKS)... Will ADD about 31 Million Coins... I am Estimating that at the end of the second Proof of Work / Proof of Stake phase the total coins will be in the range of 62 Million Coins. Devs if you see any errors in my math let me know and I will edit  I used our blockchain explorer for the number of coins at particular blocks. *** Also check out the Statistics TAB on the Wallet. I see no reason why we won't be at $1 by the beginning of August. Some big announcements will be coming through this week. $1 in a few months? That's crazzzzy There is already a general rise in the value of all coins after Bitcoin broke out of the 5 month downtrend earlier this week. This indicates a upcoming rally which will take Bitcoin prices to new highs. If Bitcoin rises in value over the next few months like analysts predict, all alt-coins will naturally follow suit. Therefore all alt-coins will rise in value against the Dollar. Now if you add in all the new innovations that SilkCoin brings to the table along with the fact that investors will be throwing cash at the hottest alt-coins out there, pretty soon SilkCoin will make it's way to the $1 mark. |

my wallet shows me stake: 0.00 SC
Does that mean, that i am not staking? Most of my coins are older than 12 hours and reserve ist set to 0.
Is everything ok or do i have to change something?
It's most likely because your wallet is locked and not staking. Unlock your wallet and then it'll start staking. I didn't set a passphrase to my wallet yet. Maybe the wallet neets to be opened 12 hours without interruption? I always shut my pc down when i leave my home... Yes your wallet needs to be opened for more than 12 hours as coin age is calculated when your wallet is open Coins do earn coin age even when wallet is not open but to hit a stake block you need to have your wallet open. In settings->options you can set Reservebalance (it's the amount you don't want to stack) In settings->options->display you can tick coin control, so you can control what coin you send (don't send old coins) In settings you can unlock wallet for stacking only if you encrypted it. If you have coins older than 12 hours, then you'll start to stack and you can see current staking status hovering the lightning icon. But beware this is the "expected" time, it can be shorter or longer, as in POW blocks. After those 12 hours, the more coin-age you get the more chances you have of hitting a stake block, you gain coin-age even when wallet is closed. -- As for news, today we are currently recruiting more devs to work on the eco-system because we got quite a few messages from different developpers since we unveiled it. And we are preparing the next release which is scheduled for wednesday (maybe before) powering up again the already powerful silkcoin wallet . We are also going to launch a few other things on the marketing side along with the new release early next week.. It seems to work, i think i was just too impatient.
