I can't think of a rational reason for PMs to test bottom in times like these.
Future forward, SGE ... China will set the price.
Synchronicity, literally was just talking with a Greek speaker. Insanity ... 'cap controls' limit withdraws to 60 euro /day.

"We should be all over the android-wallet thang." Agree. I think pitching to merchants is much easier with Android readiness. (sorry most folks hit a mental wall with desktop / blockchain clients) The android is money in their hand, so to speak.
Micro-Economic-Merchant-Networks. Yes ready to field test this idea once Android is in the Google Apps store.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Ian and I sold jam and chutney using ahem . . . Other Coin . . . at a market in 2014. We had a QR code printed out, and showed people how to 'lock on' to it, then complete the transaction. It really really is a satisfying demonstration of the efficiency of cryptos.

Remember last year we figured out together that gold goes irrationally down in price because it's 'mentally linked' to other commodities? Well, I know there are a bunch of PM-savvy Uno folk here. Let's have your thoughts on what's goin' on. (I have no concerns: will buy all the Ag I can!) "Just this week, crude oil prices retreated to $50 a barrel, while gold tumbled below $1,100 an ounce to five-year lows. And mining stocks like Newmont Mining (NEM), Barrick Gold (ABX) and Coeur Mining (CDE) are down 20% to 25% this month alone. What's going on? "It's a yellow flag for the global economy. I don't think it's a heads up that we're headed for disaster, but I do think it tells us something . . . " http://money.cnn.com/2015/07/21/investing/commodities-prices-gold-oil-copper-aluminum/index.htmlm I'm probably crazy, but I have been snapping up PM's like crazy, have found some decent fractional and junk markets pop up since the crash. Au and Ag have never let me down as a long-term store of value.

i had a dream last night that platinum dropped to $500/oz but yeah, for the past year or so i've had it in my head that I want to wait til gold drops below $1000/oz before i start buying if you look at the 20 year gold chart, it looks suspiciously like a pump n' dump silver on the other hand is a solid buy IMO

I bought a 10gram Pamp bar on eBay last night...couldn't resist. Wont get me far if we did have a reset but feels right not squirreling away paper. The conspiracy theory is the naked paper holders are so naked they sold off in that 10 minute plunge, (at the quietest time of day), to send it down. Sale time before End of month covering and all that. Gold especially is up in our local (AUD) this year but as USD is strong...and Mr market loves the Nth American paper...why I have no idea... I read yesterday that Uncle Sam owes more than a million USD for every man woman and child and adding 30k per month. 100% plus leveraged to this great recovery the world is experiencing. .......................................... Conspiracy theory aside. I downloaded the updated wallet. Chain updated within an hour...so am back with my massive 50 UNO. Will invest more now over the merge mine hump. Thank you for the wallet update. tacktic.

Well saying prices will snap back a bit further down the track, without a time frame, is like saying the sun is going to rise. Teehee Who knows when? No one. The manipulators, if you're so inclined to believe that. I am feeling like i would rather buy metals with all my money that i plan on saving instead of letting it sit in some bank to earn negative return when you consider inflation only to try to withdraw it one day and be told "sorry, we're out of money". I don't think the people of Greece thought it would happen and how tiny is their debt relative to the US debt?? Hell i could lose half the us dollar value in metals, but it wouldn't matter to me. An oz is an oz is an oz, a million yen, a hundred pesos, don't matter. Metals and ammo. Although ammo doesn't seem to be as scarce as it once was. The ammo at least has practicality about it even if it loses it's value completely. The metals, well, i guess i could always make a crown out of them. Some type of dope ass scepter to smite bitches with! Other than that, sorta lacking practicality. I think it is a better conspiracy than the Mayan calendar end of the world thing. It seems much more likely. Financial collapse. Let's just keep hoping for sooner than later!

I think it's an excellent bet, especially silver at these prices. ...and Uno, of course.

M I don't think it hurt to have a Native-Greek-speaker-computer-guy on board the UNO bus. But his rates are a little high. Anyone knock on this guys door yet? In general, the majority of Greeks read/speak English, so it is more important not to translate materials but to have a few real world reps on location. This is a really handy translator http://itranslate4.eu/en/Which caused me to think that we need a UNO 101 intro translated into as many languages as possible. Which caused me to think do we have a UNO 101 intro?

Hey yah, B.N. Absolutely just a conversation starter.
Dunno if it'll be this guy, or even Greece, or paid by the word, or a contributing community member; but we sure are moving into the direct-approach-to-communities stage of cryptos.
'Unobtanium 101' in a bunch of languages? Niiiiice!

For those of you who are bullion fanatics, how can leverage this for Uno?
I could see us producing a series of articles that explains the workings of Bitcoin, and how Uno is more interesting to people who appreciate investments that combine rarity/low inflation.
Which websites do you frequent; which bloggers do you follow? Could a well written and referenced article get a placement on a credible site?
While other coins are out there being hyped for pump & dump, I'd like to see us better describe how Uno is different from Bitcoin, and target those differences to a community that would appreciate it.
While I'm content to keep accumulating Uno on the cheap, neither do I want some cheap copycat imitation pnd coin to come along and steal Uno's crown.
So where do you go for metals info?

I'd like to be part of this initiative. First Thought -- and it pairs with something I've wanted to post for some days now:
we all recall when, according to your judgement of the person you were talking to, the first thing you explained about cryptos was either (a) their low transaction fees/internationality, or (b) the libertarian thang -- stickin' it up the Government's nose.
Well, IMHO it's time for all to focus, as the global economy is now unarguably in strife, on the 'non-debasable' aspect of Unobtanium, that is, of its ability to hedge value against increasingly weak and unreliable fiat currencies.
For example (IndiaMikeZulu holds in its vaults 98% of all the cryptos we've ever bought), although the price of cryptos sank for 20 months, the Australian Dollar has slipped from better-than-parity with the US Dollar to 73 cents, with people talking about it slipping under 70. We have thus done far far better than those with Aussie Dollars under their mattresses.
So, the 'Uno-Ag Thing': both Ag and Uno are 'post-governmental currencies.' They can be traded p2p. One -- the physical metal -- is superior in ways: you can bury it in the garden. The other -- the crypto commodity -- is superior because it has the utility of a truly international currency.

This is where a lot of germans go, but these are the big boys and it's only about PMs (probably more difficult to get placed but if you do it'll have great impact): http://www.goldseiten.deAswell as this page for alternative viewpoints also centred around PMs but having broader range of reports on all kind of things (smaller audience but probably more easy to get placed): http://www.hartgeld.comgetting an ad or even article should be possible maybe?

They are not going to accept BTC... I asked that one last year. .................... I dont think there can be realistically a decentralised system of buying and selling PM....In a distributed sense of linking value to the chain. Physical is physical and needs to be delivered. If it is not delivered it is centralised ...somewhere. That is what is wrong with all the paper being written by the Big institutions..... They write naked paper, and are not good for delivery...they trade expiry and option dates. (there are enough paper options in existence at any one time for many hundreds/thousands of tonnes of more gold than ever dug up.) ......................... If I was a customer of yours in another country.... and possibly you were one of mine... I can see a ledger of assets being open and accountable between the parties. (this could account for PMs...and what UNex distributed vault was about)... but we had no business selling to us or us to them...at the time of the idea. It is what I can see Etherum or NEM or NXT being able to do. Contracts between decentralised parties...for sale or storage of a good or service. Enforcable with multisignature. Somehow I need to get a business online so I can get into this future. ................................ Telling Mom and Pop that the digits on the screen is alternate money....that is different to the governments digits on the screen... I just dont know. I love the blockchain. Mom and Pop love the government. I dont know how the masses will be converted without big brother a) outlawing b) confiscating c) taxing the crapper out of it.... too many big old institutions to fight. ................................. I am quite happy to be proven wrong. The blockchain and distributed ledger is an idea whose time has come. It will (is starting to) change business all around the world. As far as the coins having value in themselves...i just dont know...pieces of a ledger yes.. The ledger needs to be the desirable thing.... then the coins have value. Now how do we link value to the chain? Answer this and we all retire with full boots. Tacktic.
