Not long ago I read something like paypal is considering to involve BTC. The lower level employees may not know the true. But the top management probably is considering adoption of btc.

1767  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Newegg offers a PS4 for $319.99 with Bitcoin (exclusive payment only) on: August 20, 2014, 05:58:43 AM
Just bought one. It wasn't clear how to pay with Bitcoin, but once I figured it out, it took about 30 seconds. I used my Android Mycelium wallet.

Well this one way people will recognize bitcoin,it with  huge savings, bravo to newegg for doing this,  If giant merchants can do this, this will get more people to adopt into bitcoin much faster.

yeah i hope dell, overstock, tigerdirect and all the other retailers follow suit with this. bitcoin-only transactions with steep discounts.
More people pay attention to btc's price and buy in btc when they think there is bargain price. They will tend to pay with btc or save it.
1768  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alts killing each other and the flood of alts will strengthen LTC's position on: August 20, 2014, 03:15:20 AM
I think the reason behind it is that the dev's aim is not to develop cryptocurrency technology and contribute to the real world, just for their own interests. They are fighting each other and try to push their coin's price. Then they can pump and dump.
1769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Incredible Digital Currencies Course by the University of Nicosia - MOOC on: August 19, 2014, 02:47:08 PM

1770  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: For those of us who need a little reassurance during the ups and downs of BTC on: August 19, 2014, 04:49:26 AM
BTC is belonging to the technology savvy who has faith in the potential. They have peace of mind to hold them as long as we can't think.

What should I do with used address/private key?
Is there a way to recycle it back to /dev/random if I do not need it anymore?  Grin
Just delete the address right away! No way to recycle it.
I have 4 addresses for different source.
1773  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Promoting Bitcoin? on: August 19, 2014, 03:00:55 AM

1774  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is your idea about fractional reserve practice at bitcoin exchanges? on: August 19, 2014, 02:51:50 AM
I don't like the idea.

As long as the exchange is not large enough to move the market, and bitcoins and fiat can flow freely in and out of the exchange, would it be profitable for the exchange to create imaginary buy/sell pressure?

Yes, when the price is high, the exchange sells leveraged coins to the market. When the price is low, they buy back or still sell leveraged coins. They makes lot of profit from trading in terms of fiat.
1775  Economy / Economics / Re: The FED is almost Dead. (Fed = Federal Reserve Inc., a privately owned cartel). on: August 18, 2014, 09:22:30 AM
Dollar is still the number one world reserve currency. As many countries are developing, they are eager to make their own currencies go to the world and replace the status of dollar. Before it is pound, now is dollar. The future may be ruble or yuan. It will make us think what currency will really keep the value and doesn't lose purchasing power? Nowadays decentralized e-currency may be the future's future, like BTC. What do you think?
1776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia and China vs Bitcoin on: August 18, 2014, 09:10:00 AM
They already did ban bitcoin.

So making it official should not have any impact on the price.
not really ban btc, just official warning was given to public. China banned the transaction processing company from third party directly deposit to the exchange by customers.

1780  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Creating The Largest, Highest-Density Bitcoin Community In The World on: August 14, 2014, 04:48:14 AM
