1661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Artwork sold for 35 BTC in Inside Bitcoins Tel Aviv on: October 20, 2014, 12:09:18 PM
big propaganda for bitcoin. A artwork is worth a lot of bitcoin from a not famous artist. This probably incentivizes other artists to create more bitcoin related artwork.
1662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is better than Apple Pay? on: October 20, 2014, 09:52:32 AM
In terms of adoption to these two products, the ppl are tending to trust Apple who hold creditability in the usability and scurity of its products from them rather than BTC. PPL read too much negative news from the media.
1663  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-10-19] Bitcoin Blockchain Initial Sync Time Dramatically Reduced on: October 20, 2014, 09:31:47 AM
Great improvement. Why do the fussy ppl still complain about this? Comparing to 2 days, is 4 hours still long?
1664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Ideal In-Store Bitcoin Shopping Experience on: October 18, 2014, 11:51:28 AM
What a good scenario! If you keep scanning the QR code and paying bitcoin, hopefully the battery is enough to support! LOL
1665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Obama’s credit card denied at restaurant on: October 18, 2014, 11:42:37 AM
good points !
Bitcoin would not have had this problem.. an interesting story too
i wonder what his credit limit is ?
but bitcoin offers credit to bicoiners who can't spend from nothing. The beaty of using bitcoin is that it is under the control of your hands without being arbitrarily charged.
1666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just what is a FAIR fee to send a Bitcoin transaction? on: October 18, 2014, 11:32:37 AM
At the moment it doesn't matter how much the fee is. At least the block reward is enough to incentivize the miners to keep the mining rigs on. After it reaches the limits of 21 million, all the accumulated transaction fees left is rewarding to miners. Apart from the transaction volume, the amount of fees is important factor to determine the amount of reward in on block. If the reward is less than miners expected, they might turn off rigs.
1667  Economy / Economics / Re: Attitude toward daily Bitcoin price on: October 17, 2014, 12:06:14 PM
If you are sensitive about the price, it is not the right time to invest bitcoin. The price is down a lot from last year's peak!
1668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which wallet is better, onchain or offchain? on: October 17, 2014, 10:08:54 AM
It is better to use both and combine their inherent advantages. For daily life expense, Off chain wallet offers the convenience and speed of using bitcoin. But you should only have small amount. Certainly the on chain wallet is good for saving large amount of bitcoin offering security. On chain wallet includes online or offline.
1669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In light of the recent POODLE vuln, did you guys learn your lesson? on: October 17, 2014, 10:00:25 AM
The ppl who lost bitcoins will get hard lesson which will make them think what is the best way to save their bitcoin holding.
1670  Economy / Economics / Re: US Price Deflation in Recent History on: October 16, 2014, 12:18:04 PM
The increasing wages don't outpace the inflation rate. The normal median households are losing their purchasing power and mean they are getting poorer than before.
1671  Economy / Economics / Re: Another Deal to Circumvent the Dollar on: October 16, 2014, 12:05:07 PM
China becomes the second largest economy following by the USA in terms of GDP. The increasing number of trades are conducted with yuan. The USA is falling in the steep hole of debt and will lag behind China or other countries no more than 10 years (personal opinion, no offence). Whether bitcoin will play the role of currency will depend on the policy of China and the USA.
1672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin interesting App on: October 15, 2014, 12:25:55 PM
Using blockchain to store passward is not secure enough to avoid hacking. such as Trojan horse, virus etc is alway there. Due to that, many ppl are losing bitcoin.
1673  Economy / Speculation / Re: OFFICIAL - FUD thread on: October 15, 2014, 12:07:13 PM
OP treats bitcoin investment from the perspective of traditional traders in financial market. It is understandable we need some policies to close the position which is against us. They will build the position when the price movement has obvious direction. I think it is not the right time for you to invest it due to being the bear market of bitcoin.
1674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do OffChain Tx Look Like When They Hit The Blockchain? on: October 15, 2014, 08:24:09 AM
Although it will save fees for customers, it will hurt the blockchain from the long run. If all of bitcoin holders are approaching to such service, the accumulated transaction fees will be too few to incentivize the miners to carry on mining after the last block will be mined.
1675  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer energy cost - Solar maybe a solution? on: October 15, 2014, 06:39:31 AM
Electricity is an essential factor to run the mining business successfully other than the efficient mining rig. Building solar power is a good idea for mining. But small miners have no experience and large capital to run such mining business, which is risky investment.
1676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Gift Card in Gyft Makes Bitcoin an Even More Convenient Currency on: October 15, 2014, 06:24:39 AM
It offers a new way of gifting gift to others with bitcoin. By the way, the website is really simple and convenient to use. I think people will like it.
1677  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How soon will schoolbooks include Bitcoin :)? on: October 15, 2014, 06:11:12 AM
My sister is 13 years old, just entered to the junior middle school. She told me her teacher gave a lesson about bitcoin. I was really surprised at the news. She learnt what is bitcoin and how to mine it.
1678  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitstamp does not let me withdraw on: October 13, 2014, 03:21:41 PM
Your title is misleading me, which made me think Bitstamp has some problems.
1679  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-10-12] CD: EU Prosecutors Launch Project to Combat Online Dark Markets on: October 13, 2014, 07:22:16 AM
If there is no bitcoin, they can use fiat cash. It is not the fault of bitcoin. I don't think EU Prosecutors are against bitcoin. No while ago, many EU banks can let the customers to buy bitcoin through their bank accounts.
1680  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-10-12] Bitcoin Barely Changed, VC Investments up to $224 Million on: October 12, 2014, 07:06:35 AM
Good news. The VC investors don't lose appetite for bitcoin investment and have a faith in the potential of it.
