1061  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Causes of Mass shootings, suicides + - Many of them are on psychotropic drugs on: October 11, 2015, 08:54:39 PM
....im going to agree.
as to answer your question from before, i think those rare, psychotic episodes exhibited by a small percentage of individuals on those drugs isnt really explainable easily. it could be a rare case side effect of the drug induced by a combination of many factors, or it could be that perhaps the individual stopped taking the medicine, assuming themselves cured, and had a harsh relapse. i think itd be safe to say these cases are rare enough to have them be the outlying extremes of side effects.

Still, we don't have an etiology.  Only hypotheses. Of course there may be several causes.
i dont think we might ever have a defined etiology for what might cause these psychotic episodes; compared to the number of people on the drugs and the people who experience these psychotic breakdowns, these cases are rare enough that they would have to be studied on a case by case basis, and im not sure those few would have much in common. take for example, their social environments; their social lives (awkwardness vs normality) could have played a role in their decisions, and that sort of thing isnt really easy to say the least to factor into a study. not that there are that many cases to study  from, the shooters that end up having these breakdowns sometimes end up dead.

Well that's just the thing... when I went through my "manic episode", I didn't even feel like anything was wrong with me or the way I was acting.  To me it just seemed like everyone else was acting weird, and being real dicks to me when they pointed me out all the time and tell me that I'm acting funny.  I even pushed away my family, girlfriend, all my other buddies during my episode.  So it's pretty hard to study these people (which would include me) when they are going through these manic episodes, because they don't realize that they are going in a downward spiral of craziness.  They wouldn't want to be studied, because they feel like everything has gotten better in their lives when things really haven't.  When a person is in a manic episode, you feel on top of the world and are all that and a bag of chips.

I think it would be nice if someone where to make a Monero video that is kind of like weusecoins's video... It's pretty simple and easy to understand, and would easily explain to new people the advantages of Monero compared to fiat, bitcoin, and other currencies.

Maybe something that is a mixture between fiverr for bitcoin, in where you can sell stuff like ebay, or do gigs or other stuff like on fiverr, and a blog site, in where BTC users sign on, and can chat easily with other users, kind of a mix between Chennan's and Hugroll's suggestions, been thinking about this idea for awhile.

If you want to talk, add me on skype @gmtrack56.

Actually I think this is a really good idea... a social website that promotes businesses to sell stuff on their using bitcoin addresses and no email registration required.  That would be awesome.

Thank you sir!

I have some more finetuning ideas if you want to hmu, including both a livechat/type of thing, as well as a blog post type thing.
However, it would have to not become 4-Chan -ish if it were to be more commercial based!

Well it could always use a reddit type of format, or a format that you develop... If it uses businesses to sell stuff on there, then you could take a small percentage of the sales, but if it's more of just a forum then you will definitely need ads to support the site and to make a small profit.

Yes!

Also, some sort of market game.
Like the stock market, but people invest BTC to play.

Something that won't be a scam, but isn't truly just stocks, or some market type game.

Similar to EvE Online market, but for BTC.

Don't really know how that would work, but would be chill.

I believe you're talking about binary options, and they have a couple of websites like that already... Just google binary options with Bitcoin and all of them should come up.
1064  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Calling for all foreign parties to join in Jihad against the evil U.S.A. on: October 11, 2015, 01:35:09 PM
So you're sitting there telling everyone here that the US is the ONLY ones who have started conflicts in all of the continents? While I do see everyones point in not liking America due to their recent foreign policy errors, I think it's stupid to hate just America and think that we are the only ones who cause conflict... China is hacking into our data bases, Russia is starting back the cold war, etc. etc. There are many reasons why a country does what they do.

You are comparing the Americans invading Iraq and Libya, to the Chinese hacking in to a few databases? Really? How many innocent civilians have died as a result of the Chinese hacking? And what about the millions of poor people killed by the Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan? Are they something less than human? And give proof for your claim that Russia is starting back the cold war. IMO, it is the Americans who are keen to continue it.

I know, I don't agree with the current foreign policies we have going on right now.  We did it out of greed for oil and to keep the petro dollar going.

But you can't say that ISIS is a team that promotes peace.  ISIS literally strategizes to get the most casualties where people don't believe in their religion.  We on the other hand don't strategize to kill as many people as possible, we are just too ignorant and do it along the way.  I know that isn't an excuse, but we don't have pure hate in our hearts for everyone around us in the world... that's just a known fact.

Of course I don't have any proof that Russia is trying to start another cold war... but hell, look at what Putin does every single day... He literally just mocks us and makes us look like dumb asses (Obama being the key ingredient in that).

get ready for coins below 0.001!! Undecided Cry

Why so sad? This is the investment stage, going below .001 will make it all the more cheap to get good quality Monero in your wallet...
1066  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I earn money in this forum? on: October 11, 2015, 12:40:51 PM
search for Joystream.

I just learned about Joystream... I downloaded it, but not quite sure how I can download stuff to joystream to start seeding my downloads?

I NEVER thought this would make it to a level past beta.  I have to admit I was wrong.  I thought to many illegal torrents in the world to make it where they don't get sued.

That is a good question though what torrent is anyone seeding and actually making money?   I just don't see torrent down loaders paying for this I guess.

I mean, in theory it seems like it should work out beautifully because people have the incentive to keep seeding torrents that are in high demand.. but at the same time, it will take a lot of marketing from them to get the word out about it. I mean I just learned about it yesterday, and on there website they don't even have like a "how it works" or a "FAQ" section that would answer a lot of peoples questions.

Good concept though I guess..

1068  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you buy with 1 bitcoin? on: October 11, 2015, 12:33:34 AM
I would buy another crypto which has true potential that is worth cents now.  In the cryptonite area, like XMR.  Either that or I would use bitcoins for gambling and try to double my money... the last one isn't very smart, but it's fun.
1069  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling be profitable in long term ? on: October 11, 2015, 12:30:23 AM
I think the only gambling that can be truly profitable in the long term will be smart investing.  Now it depends on what investment sites or stocks you consider "smart" but if you do enough research into this kind of thing, then you can make a good profit if you keep your money in the investment for the long term to get the most profit.

1072  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin Exchange Gemini Approved for Launch in New York on: October 10, 2015, 10:59:01 PM
You forget something which must be VERY important to BTC community. It seems it was forgotten; The anonymity. The core of BTC. Smiley

Gemini, Coinbase and others like them are bringing what you didn't want.... regulation, taxes, GOVs which will know everything you make with your coins and so on.

How is with stories like BTC is made for anonymity, privacy? Smiley

Bitcoin never was anonym. Lots people still think it is, but even if you have no tech knoleage and only monitor press you see it is not. Monero is coin with anonymity features.

Monero is the head leader of the cryptonite PoW structure, but there are a lot of other cryptonite coins out there.  But I totally agree with you. A majority of people still think that Bitcoin is completely anonymous while not realizing it's pseudonymous or what that really means.

With bitcoins blockchain you can trace every single transaction that ever happened to certain wallet addresses.  With Cryptonite coins like Monero, it utilizes a way to build in a "mixer" that mixes up coins in a certain block and then it pays out to the corresponding wallets, giving it more of an anonymous feature.

What about a website that is like craigslist, but is known for being used for cryptocurrencies.  So it has jobs/gigs/serices/for sale/ etc. etc. ? I think this would be very beneficial for people in the crypto community.
1074  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Causes of Mass shootings, suicides + - Many of them are on psychotropic drugs on: October 10, 2015, 10:40:38 PM
When you're dependent on drugs or staying away from allergens their whole life, if they are somehow without the drugs or get in contact with allergens they may have adverse reactions because their bodies naturally aren't used to them. People are taking away from their natural immune systems. They served people well for years and years and years, but people just want to trust drugs more.
i think its more an issue of people, as in the general population, being either too ignorant or simply uneducated enough to think for themselves and end up trusting the doctors that prescribe them the drugs, not the drugs themselves. think about it, would you trust your dealer that this new kush is dank as fuck if hes been your supplier for years now? hell I would. analogy aside, there is also the placebo effect, which is far stronger than people give it credit for, and i think it plays a big role in just how effective people perceive these drugs to be when given to them by their trusty doctors in white coats. however, they fail to realize that their doctors just give them drugs to treat the symptoms for several reasons; 1, its easier than treating the cause, and 2, it gets them paid.

I know exactly what your saying, and how everyone should think for themselves and that kind of thing; but at the same time, getting a M.D. in psychology and knowing the ins and outs of neurology is possibly one of the hardest things to do in med school... So when I get these symptoms that are unwanted, I just simply stop taking it and wait for my next appointment. I don't necessarily blame the doctors themselves, but I think the pharmacologists that are making the drugs for drug companies should be to blame.  They put drugs out there to be prescribed when there hasn't been adequent testing on the drugs they make... they just simply put vague side effect labels on the medicine bottles that make consumers feel like it's not a big deal.
1075  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Gemini opens 08 Oct for trading!! on: October 10, 2015, 09:51:39 PM
One of biggest no news of the year, after so much buzz about it.

At this point I think nothing that is not bigger or equal than the 11/09 attacks will have no effect in prices

Idk, it's only been open for a couple of days and been open for a majority through the weekend... Gemini's effects will be known by the end of this coming up week for sure.  I think it will raise the price by the most, $30-$50 ... not any more or any less.
1076  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Causes of Mass shootings, suicides + - Many of them are on psychotropic drugs on: October 10, 2015, 09:31:44 PM

Right, I believe the doctors are getting kickbacks for pushing drugs. They're worse than drug dealers, when more people die from prescription drugs than illegal ones. The doctors get money for pushing the drugs, and the drug companies get more money and they pay the doctors, and it's an endless circle that relies on one thing, people buying and actually taking the drugs.

I strongly believe if you can get off of drugs, and find a natural way to solve the problem, you'd be much better off.

It's in the doctors/drug companies best interest for you to not have your problem solved, but to rather keep coming back and buying more.

But the thing I never really quite understood, is how the FDA gets to approve these type of drugs if they pose a threat to people's mental health?  I think there would be at least one person in the field of psychology that would be doing a research project on the subject of Zoloft or something like that, and he would then find that the papers released by the FDA doesn't necessarily correlate to actual data with Zoloft... Or that it uses such vague side effect symptoms that it would get away with it.

I guess the main question is, is that if the drug companies would be paying the doctors and other people to start pushing the drugs... How is it possible for the FDA itself to be bought out as well?  Even psych medicine doesn't receive enough profit to pay off EVERYONE.
1077  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie but fast learner! It seems you can buy and......???????? on: October 10, 2015, 09:22:01 PM
I also have been using Coinbase, there are some things I question about them, living in the USA, I heard they are thinking about taxing Bitcoin, which is a huge no no for me.  If I am going to be selling coins ever, I think I would look outside of Coinbase for selling them.

This is actually a big issue right now... people in the U.S. like me, are deciding how they should buy there bitcoins.  There are multiple ways to do this, like using either:
1) Coinbase
2) Circle
3) Localbitcoin (you buy them from actual people)
4) Gemini

Many others to list, but these are the new major ones that I can think of.  With Circle, it takes a long time... Coinbase might start taxing... Gemini asks for VERY personal information (SS#'s, where you live, etc.)... Localbitcoin is good, but depends on where you live and if there are people willing to sell bitcoin.

See my thread:
 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1205372.0

For a little dose of reality.  Sometimes shootings are the proper response.

Why are you such a violent anarchist? It seems like you want as much violence as possible, for whatever reason.  Shootings are never a proper response; because violence will be responded with more violence... you can't fight fire with fire.  In your thread you make it seem that drugs in general open the conscious mind.. whether you believe that, we are talking about pharmaceutical drugs and not psychoactive drugs like LSD or something like that what it seems you may be pointing too.

But seriously, what's with your admiration for violence all the time?
1079  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie but fast learner! It seems you can buy and......???????? on: October 10, 2015, 09:04:03 PM
Yeah, webwallets like coinbase are sketchy in terms of it being possible for anything to happen to the coins you hold on their, whether someone hacks them or the site freezes your account for some reason they deem fit.  Light weight wallets are a popular option (these are electrum, multibit, and others). Bitcoin core is a real pain in the ass due to how much memory it takes up on your computer.  If you want a really good wallet that connects to the blockchain on your smart phone, go for breadwallet.  That's what I personally use on my phone, and it gives you the private keys you need to be always in control of your account... be sure to write the private keys somewhere safe.
1080  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $100/BTC to buy on: October 10, 2015, 08:04:54 PM
Lol i am waiting for bitcoin to hit atleast $150 and they go and stop at $1800 then it would make me a lot of profit.

It should take lots of time to reach these 2 different points.
I am waiting too but i don't think it will reach 150$ again.
The price is raising now and i hope to reach to 300$ soon this year.

I think bitcoin will go up a little bit more, but if the block size debate isn't resolved soon then it will probably fall way below $100... As for right now I'm investing in btc in terms of purchasing power to buy 1 or 2 altcoins which I think possesses the most potential for being the next big thing, but since this isn't altcoin discussion then I'll save those views to myself.

Also I'm interested in buying physical bitcoins because I think that no matter if the price will go down, or if it becomes very obsolete, then physical bitcoins will always be a way of preserving them and I think that they will hold a very high value 50 years from now when it becomes kind of like an antique.

But no one can really know what is in store for the future of bitcoin... it's just fun to be along for the ride, whether you've been on this ride for a couple years or just starting out now.  I just definitely wouldn't sell my car/house for bitcoins, that's for sure.
