221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: May 17, 2023, 01:51:51 PM
I agree that Croatia aren't one of the teams to be underestimated at all. First of all it is true that they haven't been much successful in Euro tournaments recently. They couldn't even get past 1/8-finals twice in the most recent tournaments. However their performance in the recent two World Cups has been very impressive. First the finale and this time semi finals.

With the player pool they have it isn't impossible for them to have a good success in a Euro tournament also finally. There are really skilled Croatian players now and my expectation level from them has increased by their nice work in the latest World Cup.

They just need to break a leg finally by Euro 2024. They have the potential to play for the finale.

Well.. if they are skilled enough to reach the final of FIFA World Cup in 2018, and semi-final of the 2022 edition, then repeating the same in Euro 2024 is not going to be something that is impossible. In general, most of the UEFA teams are undergoing a decline. Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and Danmark are a few examples. Croatia is one of the few teams (along with France and England) who are moving in the other direction. But I would like to see how they sustain this growth in the long term, given the location of the country within Europe and the extremely small population size.

I agree. At the last EURO, Croatia was unlucky in the first game of the knockout phase of the competition, losing to Spain after extra time.
However, we have won medals at two consecutive world championships, which only France has managed to do, and this is a confirmation of the quality of the Croatian national team, which continuously achieves great results at major competitions, and it can no longer be said that this is a matter of chance or luck.
In the last edition of the League of Nations, Croatia even beat France away from home and won first place in the group ahead of Denmark, France and Austria. Croatia even saved France from being relegated to the lower tier of the competition by beating Austria in the last round of the competition.
So, at the last 3 major competitions, Croatia achieved great results and showed that it has continuity and the necessary quality for the greatest achievements.
I think it's time to stop underestimating Croatia and to show respect for all that they have achieved recently.
222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: May 17, 2023, 01:32:55 PM
I have checked Manchester City the recent records during 2023 and i was found fantastic records for them at home that from total 15 home matches in all competitions since January Manchester City have won all of it which mean they had 100% winning rates with only conceded 7 goals and this records probably makes most people believe Manchester City will be able to beat Real Madrid today

Guardiola has been complaining about premier league schedules because this makes Manchester City have to play at least 2 matches each week and this also caused Manchester City players will feel fatigue and from fitness condition Real Madrid has slightly better because last week on Laliga against Getafe Ancelotti was played some of Madrid reserved players and for this match Manchester City has odds @1.54 and this showed they are the favourite and hopefully Manchester City will showing strong mentally and win this match
if you look at the statistics of some of Manchester City's matches this season it is indeed very good but the opponent they are facing now is Real Madrid and in the semifinals of the UCL, here it is not just performance but the team's mentality and confidence will have a big influence.
Manchester City will indeed be highly favored to win the match but I think anything is still possible and in my opinion both teams have the same chance.
it will be very difficult to predict.
Manchester City's performance this season is very extraordinary, Pep Guardiola's team seems to have no significant shortcomings. I am more championed Manchester City than the defending champion. Manchester City also has a frightening home record in the Champions League this season. Five wins from five matches, where they scored a total of 20 goals and only conceded two goals. Carlo Ancelotti must be aware of it, the experience of Real Madrid must be a difference in the match if you don't want to go home empty -handed.

Interesting statistic, but for the match tonight, it will have no meaning.
In my opinion, Real and Manchester City are the two best teams in Europe right now and their duels will probably mark the next decade.
Both teams are strong and ready to win the Champions League this season, and I give a slight advantage to Real because of their experience and the fact that the Manchester City players will be under a lot more pressure.
I don't expect many goals and a nice game, and most likely one goal will decide.
Realistically, this is the final before the final and Inter in the final against Real or Manchester City has very little chance.

The reality is sexist. I would simply think that this comes down to the organizations being able to get a lot more money as a form of revenue from the men's competition compared to the women's. So they also tend to show men better treatment. Is it okay to treat men and women equally when when are the ones doing the bulk of the earning?
And last time I checked women wanted to have the freedom of wearing anything they want. There is even something called "free the nipple" movement going on. Why is it when women benefit from sexism they don't say anything but whenever it doesn't benefit them they start to complain?
In this case, it is not about something that the women voluntarily agreed to, but about the decision of the organizers, and no one asked the women for their opinion.
After the final matches, only the girls were not allowed to give the usual speech although they wanted to speak. Maybe the organizers thought that the women had nothing smart to say and that it was a waste of time?
As for the ball girls, do you think they had a choice whether they wanted to look sexy and wear short sleeved tops and short skirts or they also had no choice?
If the girls could decide for themselves that they wanted to look sexy and wear shorter skirts, and that was their choice, then I have no problem with that, but I kind of doubt that they could decide the length of their tops and skirts.
So what is the purpose of those girls at the tennis match? To do the same job as the boys and help the tennis players during the match or to wear as skimpy clothes as possible, look sexy and attract the male crowd to the tennis match?
In that case, it might be better for the organizers to simply hire strippers to strip naked on the tennis court, if that's the only purpose of the girls at the match.
If the purpose of ball girls is the same as ball boys, to help tennis players during a match, then they should have equal rights and wear exactly the same clothes.
Otherwise, in my opinion, this case is about sexism and the humiliation and exploitation of women.

So what is the purpose of giving the girls the same treatment as the boys when we all know that they are not even as entertaining as the boys and also not going to bring in the amount of money that the boys can?

I am not saying that the girls should be deprived of any rights. We all know that women are not as physically capable as men even though women are certainly better at some other aspects of life when compared to men. But when you are not as capable as man you should not expect the same treatment as men as well.

Everyone is saying that what the organizers did is sexist. But sexism is the reason why there is a women counterpart of every sport right now.

As I said, women only complain when sexism doesn't benefit them. If they feel so violated and humiliated why don't they get better and bring more revenue compared to men?

My comment was not about the fact that female athletes earn less than men or whether women are less capable than men. That is a completely different topic, although we should also discuss whether it is okay for women and men to be paid differently for the same job.
However, my comment was referring to specific examples from this tennis tournament, such as the fact that the women are not allowed to speak after their match is over, which is a common practice after every tennis final and this is something that only lasts a few minutes and should not be a problem for the organizers.
Another example is the ball girls who wear shorter clothes than the ball boys, which points to the fact that these girls are deliberately sexualized and in some way became sexual objects for the purpose of attracting more male audiences to the tennis tournament.
If you think that's okay, I want to ask all of you who have daughters, would you let them do the ball girl job half-naked in front of a bunch of men? Wouldn't you be embarrassed?
Is the only way girls can do this job is to be half-naked, unlike boys who do this job normally clothed?
225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 14, 2023, 05:00:05 PM
Did we witness the sexism of the organizers towards women at the tournament in Madrid? Are men and women treated differently in this tournament? This topic was opened after Jessica Pegula, a doubles finalist, complained that the organizers did not allow her to give a speech after the final match.
On the other hand, all singles finalists and men's doubles finalists were able to give their speeches.
Another serious remark about the sexism of the organizers is related to the different clothes worn by the ball girls compared to the ball boys. Girls wore short sleeved shirts and short skirts to tennis matches, while  boys wore larger polo shirts and longer shorts.
Another example of how the organizers treated girls and boys differently are the birthday cakes.
Alcaraz got a three-story cake for his birthday, and Sabalenka got a much more modest cake for her birthday
What do you think about this?
Is there sexism in sports and tennis?
Source: https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/65528912
I don't think so. I haven't heard about the doubles speech incident so it's really hard to say. Perhaps some lack of time issues? Anyway, ball girl and ball boy outfits were supposed to be sexy. Short skirts and shirts are considered sexy on girls but not on boys. Who prefers short shorts on guys? Mostly gay men. Women and straight guys prefer some more conventional clothes. So it's more about different criteria of sexy.
As to the BD cake, I think that's more because Alcaraz is Spanish, he superseded Rafa as some sort of a national hero in Spain, not because he's male.  Grin

Sunday's transfer gossip:

Mauricio Pochettino, who has agreed to take over as Chelsea manager, wants Mason Mount to stay at Stamford Bridge, although the 24-year-old England midfielder only has one year left on his contract and has not been offered an extension. I think Pochettino will have a very difficult job at Chelsea, much more difficult than at any other club he has coached so far.
England midfielder Jude Bellingham reportedly rejected a move from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City as he did not want to join a 'plastic club'. Very interesting opinion of this player about Manchester City. Do you agree with his opinion?  Grin
Real Madrid are looking to sell French full-back Ferland Mendy, 27, with Arsenal on alert. Real is creating a very strong team for next season.
The president of Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal, Fahad Bin Saad Bin Nafel, has refused to comment on speculation surrounding a move for Paris St-Germain and Argentina forward Lionel Messi, 35. Does this mean that the football transfer of the century is being negotiated?  Cheesy

You have got a fair point about the over population and other problems tourists may suffer if they visit China in large enough numbers. Also, I don't know whether you are aware of it or not. but there seems to be some health concerns with Chinese street food, about the way they recycle the oil and things similar to that.

You can search "gutter oil" on the internet if you feel like.
Perhaps instead Chine people would prefer Japan, Taiwan or Vietnam?
It would be refreshing to see some World Cup in an oriental setting this decade.

It will be wrong to use one-off incidents to tarnish the entire country. I have seen the video of "gutter oil scandal", but I don't know how authentic it is. Anyway, China is a huge country with a population of 1.4 billion, and isolated incidents can't be used to generalize the nation. Personally I would love to see FIFA world cup being hosted by China. If Japan and South Korea can host the tournament, then why not China? And I don't think that tourists will face any issues related to food, as a lot of US-based fast-food outlets are available at every nook and corner of China.

China is a totalitarian dump, and food has nothing to do with it. Read, for example, the monstrous story about Peng Shuai - this tennis player (moreover, world-famous) simply disappeared when she accused an official of sexual violence. Imagine what happens to ordinary people there. I don't think there should be any international competition in shitty countries like China.

If FIFA agrees that the internal politics of a country immediately disqualify it to be a host, then I can say it is fair to reconsider China. In those cases still I would like to see the World Cup be host in the closest location to the Chinese culture, Taiwan is highly democratic and free but the political tensions between China and Taiwan would also disqualify it, some people would not feel safe being there and I do not know if a country like Vietnam or Mongolia has the economical resources to invest them in hosting an important event like that...

Sometimes because of the better hosting situation of the teams, FIFA let countries host the world cup for example we know China as a communist country, and talking about the politics of that country, that's enough for FIFA to disqualify this country, but China got a strong financial system and they can spend enough money for the world cup which can be a reason for FILFA to let them host the world cup.

Those who spend the most money usually get what they want. We saw this most recently at the World Cup hosted by Qatar. We have never witnessed the world cup in the interim period until now, but Qatar made it accepted because they spent serious money. It also banned the sale of liquor in the stadium, and FIFA couldn't say anything about it. Maybe it will host in China. Everything is possible in the future.

Yes, unfortunately it is true, money rules everything, including football.
FIFA has become famous in recent years due to corruption, the arrest of its presidents and suspicious actions regarding the allocation of the hosts of the world cups.
Football is becoming more and more a business and less and less a game for the masses.
World Cup in China, why not? A new big market for FIFA and a lot of money for FIFA again.  Grin
FIFA is ready for anything, even deviating from its fundamental principles and rules for the purpose of making profit.

229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: May 14, 2023, 11:42:48 AM
Manchester City Vs Real Madrid is unpredictable as mentioned, It might not be as easy as it was last season for Madrid where they did a strong turn around in the second leg of the CL semi-finals to win Manchester City by aggregate. If City could equalise at  Santiago Bernabéu in their first meeting this season then anything is possible in the second leg. Luck could just favour one side which has happened severally in football considering that both sides are actually good.

At the Etihad, City is a very dangerous team, if I'm not mistaken, they have only failed to win twice in the whole season and Real Madrid is not as strong away as at home. In addition, City score a lot especially at home and I think that in the second leg they will be able to score 2-3 goals against Real. I hope Guardiola will be able to play in the Champions League final this year, he has long deserved this victory.

Real are not as good away from home as they are at home, are you sure about that?
If I remember correctly, they recently played against Barcelona in the semi-finals of the Spanish Cup and in the first game in Madrid they lost 1:0 against Barcelona, but in return they beat Barcelona 4:0  Grin
Top teams like Real or Manchester City don't care where they play, and in return in Manchester I expect a completely uncertain and open match, with equal chances for both clubs.
The Real players managed to completely stop Haaland in the first game, and if they do that in return, they have a good chance to beat Manchester and qualify for the new final of the Champions League.

I indicated before that Sevilla were underestimated by bookmakers when we checked the odds of the match. I wasn't expecting them to give up easy and one of my score predictions was 1-1 which really happened. Sevilla were nearly getting a win there if it weren't for that last minute header by Gatti. He was like a savior for his team maybe but I don't see any team saved still.

Because Juventus were really bad in the first half and the second half wasn't very good either. They wasted so many chances at the same time. Sevilla would surely like to control the game in Spain to finish the job. I think they will do a pretty good job about that.

For all those who have followed Sevilla in recent years, this result is no surprise.
Although Sevilla doesn't play well in the Spanish championship, they are the absolute record holders in terms of the number of trophies won in the European league.
In total, they won as many as 6 trophies in this competition, in the period 2014-2016 they won this competition three times in a row and are the most successful European club in this competition.
Given this tradition, I was sure that Sevilla would be a very difficult opponent for Juve and that's what happened, Juve luckily avoided defeat in the last minute.
I think that Sevilla has a better chance of reaching the finals, but we will see a very uncertain and open match in return.

Saturday's transfer gossip:

Manchester United were offered the chance to sign 51-goal striker Erling Haaland, 22, for Ł4m when he played for Norwegian side Molde, former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said. What a story. This was probably the mistake of the century  Grin
Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in signing Aston Villa's Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, 30, with Tottenham also in the market for a new keeper. Great interest in the world champion and the best goalkeeper at the last World Cup. Which club will Martinez go to?
Borussia Dortmund's 19-year-old England midfielder Jude Bellingham has agreed personal terms with Real Madrid. Is this long football saga around Bellingham finally over?
Newcastle could bid Ł30m for Bayer Leverkusen's 23-year-old French forward Amine Adli, although they expect competition from Bayern Munich and AC Milan. Newcastle seem to be preparing a big squad for their appearance in the Champions League next season.

You keep being biased against Argentina  Wink "Destroyed" by Argentina is that what they call a miserable lottery win now?  Grin
Regarding Croatia, I think the bookies rate them so low because this team is on a downtrend (due to age), while the Netherlands, on the contrary, have a young team and theoretically they should be getting stronger. I can’t say anything about Denmark, but the fact that they haven’t won anything for a long time is not an argument for European teams - there is too much competition and even top teams can be without titles for decades.

All I am saying is that Netherlands in an over-rated team, while everyone underestimates the potential of Croatia. Netherlands have a long history in participating in FIFA and UEFA tournaments. That is taken in to account, when people estimate their chances. On the other hand, there was no Croatia before 1991 (when Yugoslavia was dissolved). They are a relatively new team, and a lot of people have difficulty in admitting that a country of 4 million people can compete at the same level as France or England, who have a population of more than 60 million. And now coming to the case of younger players, I can't see a lot of promising youngsters coming up through the ranks in Dutch football.

It seems to me that many people predict the success of national teams in major competitions based on the size of the country and past sporting success, rather than the current reality.
What have the Netherlands, Spain, Germany or Denmark achieved in the last 10 years in any competition? On what basis are they favorites compared to Croatia, which is the current participant in the final tournament of the League of Nations in June and the winner of two consecutive medals at the last 2 world cups in football?
When I read the sports predictions on this forum ahead of the World Cup in Qatar, some members even predicted that Croatia had no chance of qualifying for the knockout stage of the competition, and they considered Belgium and Canada to be favorites in the group. We know very well how it ended, from the group, Croatia and Morocco advanced to the knockout phase of the competition.
Such sports predictions, which are not based on concrete facts and reality but on the size and popularity of some country, should not be taken seriously.
As for the story of the age of the Croatian national team, just look at this list:
- Livakovic, 28 years old, according to many statistical indicators, the best goalkeeper at the world cup in Qatar
- Stanisic, defender in Bayern, 23 years old
- Guardiol, defender in Leipzig, 21 years old, will soon become the most expensive defender in the world
- Sosa, a defender in Stuttgart, 25 years old, the German Football Association wanted him to play for the German national team
- Lovro Majer, currently one of the best young midfielders in the world, 20 years old, Rennes
- Kovacic, 28 years old, Chelsea, one of the best midfielders in the world

I could continue the list with a few more very young and promising young Croatian players. Croatia, a team with old players? Think again, but let's talk based on facts, not opinions, please.

Inter really did an incredible work while Lukaku wasn't in the starting eleven in the first leg. It seemed strange to me first that Inzaghi didn't prefer him as of the beginning of the game. But this still didn't affect Inter's playing style in a bad way. Those early goals were enough to secure a very decent score before the second leg. Now Inter have only one thing they should do which is to play a more controlled game.

I don't think that Inter should play defensive-oriented. Because this might be riskier for them as they would just let Milan come with so many dangerous attacks. Instead they can just be careful with their defending and apply their usual attacking strategies. If Milan's opponent was Juventus then I would like to see Juventus playing a defensive game in this case but I don't think that it is ideal for Inter.
Many were disappointed with AC Milan's performance in the first leg, yes, they seemed to have lost motivation in the game so defeat was inevitable. In the second leg they will play an away match, and they have to chase 2 goals to equalize first. 2 goals is not an easy thing for them to score in a competitive match like this with Inter Milan's motivation and opportunities being bigger, because they only need to get a draw to become one of the clubs competing in the final.

AC Milan will have to implement a change in strategy in the second leg later if they want to open up their chances. They have to be able to score goals quickly, which is not easy, but with hard work and with a little luck they will be able to do it.

Milan have to play away? Are you sure? Well, they actually play the second game in the same city and even in the same stadium, so they don't really care where they play.
Milan did not start well in the first game against Inter, so Inter quickly scored the first goal and that shocked the Milan players so much that Inter quickly scored the second goal, and then almost the third goal, which would decide the winner.
Milan endured to the end and still has an active and achievable result, but in return they will have to come into the match much better and try to score the first goal as soon as possible. After that, everything will be possible.
Milan is a very high quality team and they should not be written off just like that. In the Champions League, we also saw much bigger reversals.

Many people are in a difficult financial situation and are desperately looking for a way out.
When they read in the media about big profits from cryptocurrencies, they often become euphoric and risk high stakes in the hope that it will help them financially.
Such investments usually end disastrously. To invest in anything, shares, Forex, crypto... you need to prepare very well, study a lot, analyze and make a clear investment plan based on detailed market analysis. It should be seen as a real job and not as a hobby.
In accordance with your financial capabilities, you should make a concrete investment plan and have a clear exit strategy. Everything else is not serious and a simple waste of time and money.
Of course, you should always be aware that crypto is a high-risk investment and only invest money you can afford to lose.

I believe there are many people, even those who are not registered on this forum, who are helped by this forum to better understand bitcoin and crypto and who actively follow this forum but don't participate in forum discussions.
