721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC and ETH on their 2 years high on: October 10, 2020, 02:42:54 PM
Almost two months latter it seems OP was right about Etehreum that reached 2019 ATY in September. But was not right about Bitcoin that still had not reach 2019 ATY of $13800 by now. Bitcoin will most likely do that in upcoming months before end of this year. It will look bad in years to come if that not happen. When people will show yearly highs and 2019 will be higher then 2020.
722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin (LTC) Huge Pump is coming with New Update on: October 10, 2020, 01:40:14 PM
Because of negligible mining fee and 4x faster average block time than Bitcoin, there are lots of on chain use cases of Litecoin. Slowly application developers have started to notice it and building around it. I personally believe, Litecoin has a great future.

Talking about using. I noticed mid of September number of Litecoin transactions increased a lot. From around 40k a day t even 150k a day. That is a huge x4 increase. Do you maybe know why is that for?
723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoins and Blacklists on: October 09, 2020, 05:05:50 PM
Interesting.
Who is doing the blocking (if they were really blocked)? Did the owner/owners commit any crime? And was the crime clearly stated for the public to see? Are the stablecoins with such block feature decentralized or centralized? If decentralized, is the blocking done via network consensus?  No true decentralized stablecoin/crypto should be blockable without proper, transparent and community consensus. So, I would avoid any so called decentralized stablecoin that can be blocked without proper consensus.  Decentralized coins should be censorship resistant and transparent. The only coins that could be frozen/blocked are those that have been used for serious crimes or owned by serious proven criminals.

Stable coins are always centralised. Blocking is done by by owner/developer. This also beside it is centralised also makes stable coins not permisionless. Since you need permission from owner/developler if you can or not use it Smiley

Stable coins are not cryptocurrencies!!!!
724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin (LTC) Huge Pump is coming with New Update on: October 09, 2020, 04:29:45 PM
Litecoin team are working on new update called "Block Extension" to make coin has Privacy option.
LTC new update will meet huge pump in the next few days.

Main value of LTC is that is almost total copy of Bitcoin. Just with more coins and faster blocktime. Beside that it adds all improvements that Bitcoin adds and dont do any changes on its own. That is what LTC community likes about LTC.  Now there is plan to add some mimblewible to it fro optional privacy.  I do not think people will like and use that much.
725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi Bubble Burst? on: October 09, 2020, 03:05:09 PM
Loses over the last week:
Chainlink: 12%
Aave: 19.5%
Uniswap: 32%
Yearn.Finance: 44%
Compound: 20%
Uma:33%

As i watched a month ago since price swings happened with DeFi daily not during whole month.  12% is really nothing.  I personally dont see any value in any DeFi coin, but this price change swings are something you should not worry about.
726  Economy / Economics / Re: Fidelity President Files For New Bitcoin Fund on: October 09, 2020, 02:40:13 PM
fidelity is usa investment company?
are they investing hedge funds big investors money?  private indviduals ? or just usa pensions funds? tax payers money? wich one they do ?

It is a new found. So they plan to get fresh investors or relocate founds of existing investors.

The previously unknown Wise Origin Bitcoin Index Fund I, LP was incorporated this year. The early documentation provides little in the way of details about the fund, and shows that zero investors have currently participated. We do know that the minimum investment to join the pooled investment fund is $100,000, indicating this is likely only for institutional and accredited investors.
727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 08, 2020, 04:52:23 PM
It is god to see that not only a bug polished Monero GUI is ready 10 days before protocol upgrade. https://old.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/j5qbq1/gui_v01701_oxygen_orion_released/
But also Leger https://old.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/j6ob5w/ledger_nano_app_update_173_is_now_available/
and Trezor https://blog.trezor.io/firmware-update-for-trezor-model-t-version-2-3-4-for-monero-hard-fork-c2ff972101d3
built their upgrades. Monero ecosystem is definitely maturing.
728  Economy / Speculation / Re: Globb0 BTC charts on: October 08, 2020, 03:38:25 PM
A lot of people was very negative in last few days, that is usually a good sign.  I dont expect some sharp growth this year and early next, but a small growth and month of stability and then again and again and again and again. Yes can go back for a week or so, but general sentiment should be moderately positive.  But what do I know.

Rich people super rich are taking loans now why? what it means ?

We are in debt economy. Countries are indebted, why would not be individuals?  When you go buy car they almost dont want to sell you car if you want to pay it immediately. They want to offer you one of their great zero interest loans. That is how it is and that is how people learned and now live by it. Times when people knew that debts enslave them are long gone and forgotten.
730  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC - What next? on: October 08, 2020, 12:13:17 PM
As a BTC holder, I'm starting to think about moving a large part of my BTC to USDT.

You bought BTC with a reason. Ask yourself if that reason still exist. If it does then do nothing. If it dont exist anymore then sell Bitcoin.
Usually thoughts as yours appear to people that exposed them self to much to Bitcoin. That is not healthy, so I would definitely advise you to reduce your exposure to Bitcoin and invest your wealth in more other things.

Ripple Chairman threatens to leave US over crypto regulation
I'm not surprised though, ever since SEC has been targeting crypto, Ripple might be in the radar already and it's just a matter of time because they come after them. If I'm Ripple though, I will move right away to crypto friendly countries beyond the reach of US. I will not wait fill SEC comes down hard on the company, in my opinion.

All coins that was not fairly launched will sooner or later have problems with SEC in USA and with other security agencies in other countries. Premine, ICO, instamine.  Coins that was launched fairly like Bitcoin and Monero will have zero problems. That is how it is. In a normal society scam is a scam.
732  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: First time in Ethereum's history, miners made more from fees than from block on: October 08, 2020, 12:10:46 AM
This OP post looks very strange to me.
First why block-reward/subsidy change every month and is not in some linear order.  Bitcoin simply have 900 btc daily block reward everyday for 4 years. I thought Etehreum have something similar. Or that it decline linear like with Monero.
Second August and September columns dont have 53.4% difference.
Very strange indeed!
733  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Big Short movie, BTC edition? on: October 07, 2020, 11:45:54 PM
According to Chris Larsen, co-founder and executive chairman of Ripple Labs, the company is likely to move its headquarters overseas because due to the regulatory stance of the federal government towards the crypto industry.

No one can touch ripple labs. They are bankers. They will simply pay huge fines and just continue doing whatever they are doing.

For McAfee. He total understood crypto long time ago. But still acted totally dumb. I will never understand him.
734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: (XMR) Hits New All-Time High for Transactions Despite Bounty Contracts on: October 06, 2020, 05:37:10 PM
https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/monero-transactions.html#3m

Number of transactions in blockchain per day | 17,745

It seems new daily high. Last daily high was last Thursday at 17,430. Day after day more and more people are using Monero to preserve their anonymity.
735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 05, 2020, 11:08:36 PM
Morpheus' tweets in the above link really makes me smile:
One quote:
'It is as if @monero was to some extent BTC itself, and you wont find other coins that has this same pattern. The market evaluated both as THE SAME. This is HUGE because as you guys can see, Monero's transactions just keep increasing parabolically while Bitcoin's TX aren't.'

I hope this analysis proves to be valid and stays on track (and that transactions do keep growing) because it means the price now could perhaps be a couple of orders of magnitude short of where it's ultimately headed.

It is more then obvious that at least some people are trying to buy. But they cant without moving market to much.

Considering stock to flow. I just noticed today that daily emission went under 1000 XMR a day what is 1.62% yearly. So very close to Golds yearly mining emission.
736  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 05, 2020, 06:08:45 PM
Interesting it seems you can get one for cheap from the scrapyard

They still cost money.  But yes, would be nice to get one of CCL Fantasy class ships that are just getting scraped in Aliaga. I guess budged was not high enough for that.

Privacy King Monero (XMR) Hits New All-Time High for Transactions Despite Bounty Contracts
Wait is your take on this? Despite government's effort to crack down Monero with offers to 2 companies already to developed a tool to break Monero's anonymity, traders are continuing to use it. Is Monero really that thing for this private focus individuals? Or will they move out once the tools could be developed in the next 8 months?

My take on this is simple. Monero is a lucky coin that will forever have free advertisement from companies, corporations and governments. They will write and talk about Monero. Hopefully they will also spend some time to try to understand Monero and use it for their advantage. Such advertisement other coins have to pay costly. And what is magically about it is that a lot of these people are not those that already have cryptocurrencies but no coiners and also people that rarely or even never heard of Bitcoin before.

I just traded all my ETH (5) and got 16 XMR. Thinking about trading my BTC - XMR (or should I hold on to BTC?)
XMR seems to be getting attention now (which should increase its price.)

You should never hod only one coin. But also not 10+ since then you simply cant follow development well. Having Monero for long term hold is a must.
738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 05, 2020, 04:24:13 PM
The recent price surge looks more like market manipulation to me rather than it being due to recent news about the IRS and BitMEX. There is very little trading volume on the big exchanges so it is much easier to pump the price on a dodgy exchange like CITEX, which is where most of the volume is coming from.

Monero tradings was always low compared to other coins. Reason is that Monero is listed on less exchanges and on less exchanges with fake volume. CITEX? really. You can cut out volume there totally. Every single day.
What is happening to Monero have nothing to do with BitMex. BitMex of course could shocks whole crypto and with that also Monero. I dont monitor it that closely, so I dont really know how much more chances for shock there are now.
For the IRS free advertisement. Such events raise interest about Monero to people that never heard about it before. And is not just that. There was many more news. Like 40 companies enrolled on that IRS call. They choose only two. One of those 40 companies was also CypherTrace that made additional advertisement of Monero only few weeks before. Then there was also Perkinscoie legal opinion of how Monero transactions are totally compatible with KYC rules in USA and wider, that did not got that much recognition in media as it should. Combining all this with growth of transactions. Most if not all of this are totally free advertisement of Monero. Other coins are paying huge amounts of money for such advertisements.

Advertisement never instantly reflects on price. It reflects after some time. Here is me talking about it two weeks ago:

Also, right now there is so much news of Monero in media, so I am surprised there was no price action because of that.  At least some failed pump as it happened on 21th August.

Another thing I noticed lately is how more accurate are articles in cointelegraph and in other news, as they were in last 6 years. If there were any articles at all. There are different writers or they started looking much more deeply in Monero when writing an article.

Got to 0.0103 today then back to 0.01 and now is was going up again. Would be nice to see 0.0105. Could rally out of it or just make new higher top and try again tomorrow or latter. There is still plenty of time today for all options.
740  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The second hand clothes market is booming. on: October 04, 2020, 04:49:32 PM
The second hand clothes market is booming.

Also the thrift shops. A friend in Salt Lake city opened few thrift shops about a year or two ago. He says business is booming. It was booming before covid-19 and there is no change about it now. And even if recession strikes thrift shops will be the least affected.
