Looks like a nice PSU but am I reading that right that it has 4 12v rails or is that their way of saying yeah there's only one 12v rail but we're too lazy to change the chart to reflect that? I think it's the latter. Edit: Yeah only one 12v rail.

I would like to test out the colorful board and if it is stable mining I'd love to switch all of our rigs to that overtime. Eliminating risers would be wonderful, but having to set up different cases, buy SODIMM RAM and replace some of our CPUs too would be a fair expense. More realistically we would perhaps just use them for future expansions while keeping what we have now.
The downside is that I have no idea how to acquire one here in the USA for testing.

My supplier/contact in China was not able to get the Colorful board citing out of stock due to "a whale purchase" -- I don't know whats going on since my direct contact with Colorful's official distributors also came to a naught. An unconfirmed source pointed out that "the bulk buyer was from Hong Kong and has something to do with BTG".... anyways, I await more information from my contacts. The search for riserless solutions is not new in Phil's thread. I recall, Phil since last year, was experimenting on various chassis for 2-3 x GPU rigs. From the Biostar Racing GT7 motherboards... to the bad-ass Asus Prime series motherboards - I think many of us tested them all this year with reasonably good results. My group's intention was to replace the rigs with aging risers in our first GPU farm built circa 2015/16 - esp with v1 molex powered risers which were good while it lasted. The ONDA D1800 8 slotter and generic 9xGPU mobo - will be used to increase the density and footprint of the first farm and giving new mining life to the R9-390s and R9-Nanos. Who would have known that these ex ETH GPUs are also ZEC workhorses - glad we kept them. The 2nd GPU farm, has mainly RX470,480 (circa 2016/17) for ETH mining - using better quality v7 6pin powered risers, with shileded USB3 cable and using Asus Prime Z270, Biostar TB250 and Asrock H110. With exception of a few rigs using the riserless mobos, the other 95% will stay as it is due to fixed density and footprint, and save some unnecessary costs. The ONDA supplier is on Aliexpress and the generic 9-slotter is available only in Alibaba. Both Alibaba and Aliexpress are legit with customer Protection, Paypal etc. - go through my contacts. They also ship worldwide. Shipping can be couriers like DHL, Fedex, UPS but slower inexpensive couriers are also available like EMS, DPEX etc.

I am going to send Asrock Asus Biostar EVGA Gigabyte MSI Emails asking for it to be copied I will also send emails to: Provantage Frys Newegg B+H Photo Superbizz microstore asking them to stock it or an equivalent. Once I send emails out I will post the bones of them and ask you all to copy and do the same.

I like that middle one with the standard socket but in the description it says Intel J1800 2.4 GHz Dual Core Processor so it makes me wonder. I almost didn't see the 4 1x PCIe slots near the sata and molex connectors.

Makes me wonder too - always verify with seller on the actual items with pictures etc. Personally, I prefer all 6pin power connectors (eventually getting rid of PICO too) Meanwhile, DHL sent me a reminder for the delivery of 9 x slot mobo; end of day 19 Oct. I have identified an existing RX470 rig for testing. BTW, inspired by generalt, I have changed my signature to my permanent BTC address for this Bitcointalk account. Its going to be my tip jar to raise money for plane ticket to Labrador, Canada -- LOL! Just kidding, dont send anything to this address

Also, negotiate for lower quantity, like 10 pieces for competitive pricing - because its a 2017 board and we are already towards end of the year. I just found this board, and its interesting to see 8 x PCI 16X slots and 4 x PCI 1X The only thing I dont like about this board is that 3 x molex, 3 x sata power, meaning you will need an ATX PSU to get the rig up.

Labrador...yeah thats pretty far up north. not much up there nowadays with the mining boom (real mining) in a soft downturn. I'm setting up a new venture near Montreal actually...you dont have to go far to get cheap, clean, reliable power. check this out : http://www.hydroquebec.com/data-center/thats 2.48kwh USD rate...not the marginal rate. the rate including transmission and distribution. we do have 15% sales tax though. Its a project by project basis but in any case this rate represents 20% discount over the usual rate a mining farm would have here. No way i'm going up to labrador to mine, knew some people who worked up at Fermont. Its rough to live there. As a client it doesnt matter though. Its nice to visit up there too.

If this was some point in the future (probably 6-12 months) we would be interested in ordering a couple, but right now we're almost out of electrical capacity in our barn and we won't be investing in infrastructure to change that until next summer most likely.

I am awaiting the funds from my insurance company to rebuild my mining farm, if it works i may go in on like 10 of them with you. I have the D1800 on the way already for testing, but if this is truly capable of powering 8 cards, id rather go with 8 gpu's per rig over 6.
