Does anyone foresee Monero rallying back up this week.  Grin

I don't see.
The future looks dark.

"We are just fools. We insanely believe that we can replace one politician with another and something will really change. The ONLY possible way to achieve change is to change the very system of how government functions. Until we are prepared to do that, suck it up for your future belongs to the madness and corruption of politicians."

What I can say is that the future of Monero is very bright. It seems many do not realize what we have here. It is nothing but amazing. It is freedom incarnate.

The US is increasing its ability to detect its citizens' funds abroad through FACTA. European countries, justified by a few crooks 'hiding' money in Swiss 'banks', are similarly stepping up their abuse of power in their quest to seize your property through excessive taxation which is slowly burying the continent in a state-sponsored plot to replace its indigenous population with a 2nd wave of monotheists, this one just as violent and dangerous as the previous one.

Terrible days are ahead, but Monero I think will stand out as one of the crucial tools of financial freedom. Forget about next week. Look 20 years ahead. Where would you rather have your money? In your state endorsed bank, or a cryptographically secured and anonymous network?

Not in today's cryptography, that's for sure. In 20 years, we'd be needing quantum-currency.

Monero is one of very few crypto currencies that fits the "De-Centralized Virtual Currencies" definition of FinCEN
Quote

c. De-Centralized Virtual Currencies

A final type of convertible virtual currency activity involves a de-centralized convertible virtual currency (1) that has no central repository and no single administrator, and (2) that persons may obtain by their own computing or manufacturing effort.
https://www.fincen.gov/statutes_regs/guidance/html/FIN-2013-G001.html This means the currency itself is not at risk of non compliance because there is no "single administrator" that is required to register as an MSB. Many alt-coins have this risk which has for the most part been ignored. A good example of the consequences is of course Ripple. Here is an article describing what may be in store on the enforcement side. http://www.lexology.com/library/detail.aspx?g=4dea5c6a-110a-4949-a5dd-a82c034210b1

When it is ready it will be released. Would you rush Picasso to finish a painting if he were alive today?

A beautiful comparison but largely off-track. It's software with a specific roadmap.

A roadmap isn't a timeline.

Monero's privacy and therefore fungibility are MUCH stronger than Bitcoin's.
This makes Monero a better candidate to deserve the term "digital cash".

Anyone speculating on a bearish price?

One could argue it could turn in a sell the news event with the new upcoming updates. We saw huge liquidity, some bigger holdings definitely changed the hands, and they need the liquidity they get from news like the upcoming update, to be able to cash out larger amounts of XMR.

Any ideas?

Seems unlikely. I have argued before that this is not really a rumour-news event, because no one really knows the date of the new release. I would agree with you if there was a set date for the upcoming release.

One little remark, this is crypto, so you could be right.

EDIT: Also, we had that little spike last week one huge volume. It could very well be that those buyers dumped later because the "spike" lost momentum.

It's Shen Noether's (NobleSir) work, so you should credit him.

Yes seems so to bolded.

I am still wearing my sun glasses and thus seeing the future pretty dark.
However, I am not selling any of my holdings but I ain't buying either since I have just enough coins for significiant amount of cash in case I am wrong with my bearishness.

This reminds me to restart my 0.8.8.6 node since, unlike my other Monero instances, it has crashed again.  Wink
