Yes, well, thankfully everyone has the option to choose not to buy one if they have problems with BFL's business.

Us early adopters knew the risks but put down our cash early and will be rewarded with the first units.    If you decide you want to buy one now you'll have to wait for a new batch to be assembled and shipped out (exactly like the other fpga options on this forum, there's a delay of a few weeks between batches).

This first batch has all been about research and development to build a stable design.   That's done now so all future orders are just a matter of getting the boards built and the units assembled I guess.

But again, you have the option to buy or not, no-ones forcing you at gunpoint.

Its done?  Really?  First batchers have their units?

If all of that is true.. so be it.  But promising 4-6 weeks if you know its going to be longer than that is wrong.

At what point of this thread did it lead you to believe they knew it would be longer?
Maybe for him about 12 weeks after they first promised 4-6 weeks?

Or ... for me when Sonny's email was posted proving that the reason the first version didn't do what they advertised and accepted money for, was that it didn't exist (it was a simulation) back when they were advertising details and accepting money for it

(also they are never gonna live down that 10 years experience statement ...)

All of this plus

Just to confirm, I've got your account marked for packing.  We haven't got to your unit position shipment yet.  We're obviously slow with the hand assembly, but we're very close.

There have been communications coming out of BFL that they are hand assembling (you said so yourself).  They know its going to be slow, yet they STILL continue to promise delivery in 4-6 weeks for new orders.  So essentially they have to ship all outstanding orders AND the new orders all within 4-6 weeks.  GLWT.

I think when someone sees what they mean by hand assembly, if you've ever done anything vaguely like it, you'll understand why it's a slow process.  I know I wouldn't want to be doing it...  They also do a burn in of the unit to make sure it's functioning, which takes time that can't be avoided.

You're putting the title up how?  Do you plan on mailing it to the lender?

I assumed that someone with this amount of money would subscribe to the S3052 newsletter.

Someone handling the amount of btc that pirate is handling doesn't need a tea leaf reader.
1606  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 6 ASUS 5850s (OEM, used, no warranty) [associated parts, too] on: February 16, 2012, 03:25:59 PM
Questionable final price (IMO 5850's are not $150 cards), but congrats on the sell. Smiley

Point me to where I can buy 6 of them within the next 3 days for less than that and I will buy them AND provide you a 5btc finder's fee.

It is hipster cool to mock by embracing 90's Freddie's default avatar and seeing everybody using the same one. It is not getting the joke to make your own...

You'll notice that I was already paid for having participated and I would like to suggest that it is you who now doesn't get the joke.

And for what its worth, I did not make my own.

They said now that they are shipping, refunds will not be given for cold feet.
I presume that 2nd part is only for people in the first batch ...

Their website still says guaranteed shipment 4-6 weeks from order.  Obviously 'guaranteed' means nothing.

Fair enough, I didn't realize this was a beta either.

Your college degree didn't teach you how to read?

From http://www.gpumax.com.. "Be one of the first to experience the easiest way to buy and sell shares. Enter your email below to get notified when there are beta invites available."

The bolding is my own.

Where did they say that?
1616  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: February 15, 2012, 11:42:09 PM
No - it's hard to REMEMBER to go on a web site and make a small change once every 2 or so weeks.  I have a busy life.  My miners have gone completely unadjusted for months, which is perfect for me.  I don't want downtime, because I might not realize that it happened until a week later.  I look for reliability, stability, and automation wherever possible.

Kids still in school, or bachelors without children, probably have a heck of a lot more free time to fiddle around with stuff like that than I do.  I want something I can set and forget.

then don't use gpumax.  Plain and simple. Your miners will continue to function just like they did before GPUMax.  If, however, you want to make a little more than you normally would, you'll have to invest a little more effort.  Why is that so bad?  You want more for nothing? Now you're starting to sound like the kids today.

Updated availability.  Things are running smoothly so I'm ready to move on a couple opportunities.  Price is down so the number of btc has changed a bit.
