1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Power Failure During IBD - Verifying Data Integrity on: May 12, 2023, 06:54:01 PM
I recently experienced a power failure while performing the Initial Block Download onto a Samsung T7 solid state drive, which was partitioned for ext4 and mounted with the default data=ordered journaling option. My node was running with the following parameters: -txindex=1 -blockfilterindex=1 peerblockfilters=1.

The node started back up without any issues. However, I am concerned about the possibility of data corruption (blocks, indexes, etc.) due to the power failure. To be on the safe side, I've decided to restart the node with -checkblocks=0 -checklevel=3 options to verify the integrity of the stored data.

Is this enough to ensure that no data has been corrupted due to the power failure? Or should I consider taking additional steps to verify the integrity of my node data?

Thank you in advance for your help!

The coin remains strong.

Wow, proudhon is still here. This guy is a legend.
4  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Halvings impact on Bitcoins price on: May 23, 2020, 03:23:03 PM
It looks like a fairly large difficulty drop is coming, currently estimated as between -17.6856% and -7.4388% by diff.cryptothis.com. Miners are not having an easy time for the moment.

I think we will get a little drop at the next adjustment but it will trend upwards after that.

Looks like in three and a half days we will be getting a 1.6% drop. Not bad. Sure, maybe miners were on a last ditch effort before the halving to run the last of their old hardware and are now switching off. That's what I did with GPUs when ASICs were coming online. Happens during every change in the system.
7  Economy / Speculation / Comparison between different futures markets on: May 15, 2020, 07:44:59 PM
I'm checking out OKEx and Kraken. Could anyone comment on the relative strengths of their futures trading platforms?

I think difficulty will be greater for epoch 313 and 314. We are currently in 312.

It's remarkable how few difficulty drops there have been. A quick look at the diff charts show the biggest drops in 2011, 2018, 2019, and 2020.

I agree miners are generally well capitalized speculators. Miner selling has been trending down this year.

On-chain indicators such as CryptoQuant's "Total Miner Halving Capitulation Index" do not show unusual selling pressure among miners at this time.

Looks like we'll be getting an increase of about 0.88%. Miner capitulation has already happened. This is it!

Edit:
Previous difficulty: 15958652328578.42
Current difficulty: 16104807485529.38

Increase was approximately 0.92%

It went up infinity percent already, what's another 10x?  Wink

Another post from masterluc today.

"Everyone is shouting: halving, halving.  And in the comments under my ideas rave about them.  So, a fresh look.  I have the audacity to say that halving, as a scalar event, does not affect the price chart at all.  Two previous halving I experienced and observed.  Generally zero to ground.  Halving points fall into completely random places of different trends.  And they do not cause anything, not even the slightest reaction of the market, despite the general excitement and fundamental nature of the event.

You know, this is probably a phenomenon even.  But there is an explanation.  Halving is the nature of Bitcoin, a metaphysical phenomenon that creates its essence and the manifestation of which cannot be found on the surface.  Halving is manifested in the fact that bitcoin is growing for a long time.  And in the spring you will not see anything special."

Does that mean it's more bearish or less bearish now?
Less bearish.

And the translation from Google:

"In general, between the girls, I'm tired of it all.  Forecasts are not the same for me, I do them without the former grasp and vision.  Fattered, settled Vanga ...

But to be honest, according to the latest market situation, I can say that the short-term bearish picture again suddenly deteriorates.  Just wanted to say it."

"Вообще, между нами девочками, надоело мне это все. Прогнозы уже не те у меня, делаю я их без былой хватки и виденья. Растолстела, остепенилась ванга...

Но вот честно говоря, по последней ситуации на рынке, могу сказать, что краткосрочная медвежья картинка опять внезапно портится. Просто хотела это сказать."

Похоже-таки дальше не пойдем пока... $8000 не держится.

Translation of previous post:

"I looked at the unfortunate and daytime closure of the deadline .... Notice of the ease of the trending. Bitcoin said, “Xc who's the fuckin ',” and democratically went about typing at 3000 to 10,000 in one wave, having broken the slash of oil. All we will be testing $ 6000, however,). Mda. What does this say to us?

Bitcoin has wondered that it has been greatly repaired. (Kkhm, still, sitting almost on the verge of a bad 200 ...). If you want to get it

Still Bitcoin said, who has to scour, it will remain free of charge.

More fine My new opinion is $ 10k, then $ 6k. But this is not accurate! ))"
20  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis on: May 13, 2019, 12:47:36 AM
