1221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are altcoins the future of cryptocurrency? on: February 05, 2018, 11:30:14 AM
yes eventually there will be some great innovation in cryptocurrencies which will make bitcoin obsolete but that will not happen for at least another 20 years.

all the current altcoins so far are copy past of 3 or 4 main projects and these projects are not so different or revolutionary innovative to be able to take the future of crytpcurrency from bitcoin which is the leading cryptocurrency with a huge distance from the rest of them.
1222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it Ripple buy time? on: February 05, 2018, 10:47:46 AM
What do you think, Is it Ripple buy time?
no, not at all.
Ripple is one of the biggest pump and dump coins that ever existed and it currently is in a big bubble after one of its pumps.
additionally with bitcoin price drop, as you can see all the altcoins are dropping fast and the pumped coins are dropping even harder.

If I invest 2k$ on it, how much I can get back from this?
you can never know these things for sure but with all that said above something around $500
1223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don't think the gold value bigger than bitcoin on: February 05, 2018, 10:39:08 AM
Everyone will say scarcity is expensive, the gold is scarcity the same as the bitcoin.
not everyone is saying it!
there has always been some comparison between bitcoin and gold because people love to compare things with each other even though they have nothing in common but i don't find that much similarity between bitcoin scarcity and gold's.

I can't find the reason from the gold valuable.
gold has been around for millions of years and has been used as a valuable for thousands of years and it has been even used as a currency for hundreds of years.
bitcoin has been around for 9 years!

It can't do anything worth thing...
WHAT Shocked

haha The price of bitcoin has exceeded of gold before.
here is an example of a bad comparison!
how much gold? 1 bar of gold or 1 ounce?
how much bitcoin? 1 whole bitcoin or 1 bit (100 satoshi)?
you are comparing one of the smallest units of gold with one of the biggest units of bitcoin
1224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what point does mining stop? on: February 05, 2018, 10:27:22 AM
mining will never stop because that is how the design works. it can stop only if every single person the the planet stopped using bitcoin.

the "design" is that if for any reason some miners stop mining (for example like the time when they switched to mine bitcoin cash and dump it for bigger profit) the difficulty will drop and make it easier for the rest of the miners to find blocks at a normal rate (1 block every 10 min on average). and it is adjusted every 2 weeks if i understood the adjustment correctly.
1225  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in 2018 will be at $50,000 on: February 05, 2018, 10:21:44 AM
at this point i think we are going to have a very weird year ahead of us. a year which mostly consists of a bear market which you think it will reverse but it won't and then suddenly the boom happens at some point in the near future and leaves so many in the dust.

i will probably stay away from trading for a good part of this year because the road ahead seems to be to be pretty bumpy.
1226  Economy / Speculation / Re: Historic BITCOIN recovery. will it be 5000% next? on: February 05, 2018, 10:15:39 AM
I cant wait to see that guy eat his testicles on live TV or whatever.

people were making fun of Tim Draper when he bought at $600 and predicted (at that time) 10K in 2017, especially when it went to $175. That said, I don't expect 500K or 1mil in 2020. Too soon.

why do you think 2020 is too soon?
from $200 to $20000 took 3 years only and that was after a huge market scam by Mt Gox (they were 85% of the volume and went down). and also now compared to 2015 there are a lot more people interested in bitcoin and a lot more media coverage.
next 1000% rise is not going to take 3 years like before. it may happen in 1 year.
1227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't panic! on: February 02, 2018, 10:42:57 AM
when it comes to altcoins, sometimes it IS a good idea to panic. not panicking means losing a lot of money because when the dumps start they won't just stop simply. they will go on for a while.
and also not to forget how others are panicking. you can't ignore where the altcion market is headed and not all the altcoins are going to recover after the large scale dump ended.
1228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Ethereum be a Better Investment than Bitcoin in 2018? on: February 02, 2018, 10:16:37 AM
in my eyes ethereum will always remain a shitcoin that got way bigger than it deserves to be. and when looking at the ETH competitors such as Waves you can clearly see that it really doesn't  deserve to be where it is right now.

it is sometimes a better investment only because it gets pumped hard at those times. but so does any other altcoin. in fact most of them which also have much lower prices can get pumped that much harder and be a way better investment than ethereum.
1229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's just feeling worse on: February 02, 2018, 10:04:18 AM
The wolf of wall street predicted the value of Bitcoins to hit 50k dollars before crashing further.
who the hell is this "wolf of wall street" and why should i care what he predicted about bitcoin?
the "goes up to" prediction by these idiots is just as useless as "drops down to" predictions they make. and they are mostly making it for popularity or market manipulation at certain times. so paying no attention to them is the best reaction you can show even if you agree with their "prediction"!

So are you gonna encash , ?
no i am not going to "encash" because it is already too late. it is $2000+ below support line.
that's the problem with bitcoin investors these days! they are always too late for everything be it buying or selling.
1230  Economy / Speculation / Re: Historic BITCOIN recovery. will it be 5000% next? on: February 02, 2018, 09:57:17 AM
December 2017: $465??? wtf... Where do you get those values?

this is the recovery thread not the crash thread. the $465 is the bottom of the crash which recovered in December 2017. so the date is also representing the month in which the recovery took place.
1231  Other / Meta / Re: Legendary one day? on: February 02, 2018, 09:51:06 AM
i am currently feeling double lucky despite the bitcoin price fall Wink
Legendary @882 and after merit system implementation...
1232  Economy / Speculation / Re: Historic BITCOIN recovery. will it be 5000% next? on: February 01, 2018, 10:43:08 AM
I don’t know but as a HODLER it’s pretty upsetting seeing the price crash so much. I know it always recovers but it’s worrying seeing this at the moment Sad

yeah, obviously it is never good to see prices going down. but as someone who is not just a holder but an investor, i don't care about the short term fluctuations because i constantly am buying bitcoin whenever i can. if price is lower i buy more and if it is higher i buy less. the amount of money i invest monthly is somewhat fixed.
1233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Instagram bans ICO and crypto ads on: February 01, 2018, 10:21:52 AM
Instagram bans ICO and crypto ads! Following Facebook, it has forbidden everybody to place on its site any information which referrers to ICO projects. You will not see any news about it there.

Your position?  Shocked

are you trolling or do you actually have a source for this information?

because in short Instagram doesn't have any "Ads" to ban anything from it or not! Facebook is a webpage which they place banner ads around that web page. Instagram doesn't have any banner ads! it is clean and shows what users have nothing else.
1234  Economy / Speculation / Historic BITCOIN recovery. will it be 5000% next? on: February 01, 2018, 10:12:44 AM
what everyone keeps talking about these days (which is during crash) is how big crashes used to be and how big it will get now,...
example: Historic BITCOIN crash

but something is neglected in my opinion and that is the recovery that always comes after these "crashes". so lets assume this is a crash and i don't care how low it may or may not go. lets talk about the recovery, whenever that might be:

here are some examples based on bitstamp prices:
2012 recovery, August: $2.25 to $16.41 => 629%
2013 recovery, April: $7.1 to $259.34 => 3552%
2013 recovery, December, also a fake pump: $45 to $1163 => 2484%
2016 recovery, June: from $152.4 to 778.85 => 411%
2017 recovery, December: from $465.28 to $19666 => 4126%

where will it go to in the future after the recovery? 5000%? to $400,000?
1235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There are so much more to Bitcoin than Price & Profits! on: February 01, 2018, 09:57:23 AM
i say there is a positive part in this recent drop. it will first flush out the weak hands and those who were in bitcoin for profit alone and second it may help with more people understanding what bitcoin really is.

and when they do that, we can see a more solid build up with less volatility and smaller drops. because people would no longer see bitcoin as an investment, store of value, .... instead they see it for what it really is: a decentralized currency which is censorship resistance and breaks free of the corrupted banking system which is a big problem in many countries.
1236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will not die but it will multiply the value on: February 01, 2018, 09:47:19 AM
this is the best time for anybody who wants to get involved with bitcoin to start buying. although i would advise the newcomers to be extra careful because someone who has just found out about bitcoin may not be so happy if another 5% drop happens!

when in dips sometimes it is hard to believe bitcoin will be worth a lot more than that current price but if you get away from the drama and start looking at the bigger picture, you can see it not only is possible but easy.
1237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to treat China will ban Bitcoin trading platform? on: February 01, 2018, 09:41:10 AM
most countries have adopted bitcoin and added some regulations for it. some others are in the process of doing it and on rare occasion, maybe 3 or 4 countries went all out for a ban. and these countries are small and under developed so nobody really cares about them.

China and other bigger countries like Russia have "TALKED" a lot about bitcoin and how to regulate it but they have not yet reached any major decision regarding how they should move ahead with bitcoin. specially Russian. one day you hear someone from government saying they should ban it and the other day they say we have no issue with bitcoin we love it.
1238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Advice for Newbies - Day trading VS Long Term - POLL on: January 30, 2018, 10:42:22 AM
for newbies, none of them are good options because they both have downsides and will require you to have a lot of experience to make it work for you.

generally i prefer day trading or at least short term trading because in long term i am expecting dumps for all the altcoins in their pump and dump journey. and there is not much of a future for many of them anyways and there are always newer better altcoins coming out which can simply replace them and them not having any real adoption makes them easily replaceable.
1239  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price boost! on: January 30, 2018, 10:23:25 AM
i have a feeling that these days anybody you see has an opinion about bitcoin and altcoin prices as if they are super experts who has been involved with these markets all their lives!

and i don't know who their targets are, people who are brand new to crypto or they think the rest of us are never going to read their stuff and laugh?
and it is funny how they always bring up altcoins and how they are going to "rise" when they talk about bitcoin.

i am going to leave this quote from the article here for a good laugh:
Quote
Srinivasan said that though bitcoin had found its niche in the market as a digital gold, it would have to share the cryptocurrency space with digital currencies with more use like Ripple and ethereum.
1240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Starbucks Chairman Interested in Cryptocurrency Market on: January 30, 2018, 10:11:42 AM
i don't think we can have more than 2 or 3 real cryptocurrencies that are actually used for payments as a currency. we have thousands of coins out there but people never like lots of options and lots of options can never succeed. if there are 2 or 3 however, the adoption of it becomes easier and a lot easier to implement too.

bitcoin is obviously one of them. with lightning network it will be pushed ahead light years compared to others.
most of the coins specially top 10 will not make it to any real adoption in my opinion because their focus has always been on pumping and they neglected real usage.
