1121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Pending issues HELP needed! Reward 200$ on: January 14, 2024, 02:40:22 PM
while the fee from the tumbler is aprox 15 sat.
That means their transaction size is around 1000 bytes. If that's all there is, creating a new transaction for CPFP could work. Current fees are rising again, you'll need to pay more than 100 sat/vbyte on average to get it confirmed any time soon. That means paying about 0.001 BTC in fees from one of the outputs of this transaction could work, but you'll need to count all unconfirmed bytes in your transaction chain to get a more accurate number.
If the sender has many more unconfirmed parents, it can get much more expensive.

Quote
I can choose to accelerate it thru mempool.space but will that even work?
Maybe. Maybe not. I haven't tried.

Quote
What do you think should i give it 1 more day or will this not show up to wallet "A" since it hasnt been confirmed over 2 days?
It doesn't look like 15 sat/vbyte is going to be enough any time soon.
1122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ASK] About Ledger and Transaction Speed Bitcoin on: January 14, 2024, 12:53:26 PM
Yes, I understand what you mean. Maybe in the future 10 TB storage will become commonplace and not be a problem.
I'm not thinking in TBs on a 100 year time scale. Since this heavy IBM disk, we went up 1 order of magnitude in storage capacity per decade, and lost (almost) 1 order of magnitude per decade in weight. Give it a few more decades and we're counting in PB instead of TB.

What privileges does LoyceV have?
I'm happily married and have healthy kids Smiley

Why doesn't anyone advertise the fact that LoyceV sees your IP addresses? This is a potential threat to the safety of users
Maybe because nobody knows whether or not I'm bored enough to look at IP in my server's logs.

Congratulations, you've discovered https://bitcointalk.org/myips.php!

Why bother voting when the system is already compromised? The powerful continue to become stronger, while the weak continue to weaken.
That's not true. Both Timelord2067 and Ratimov were (brutally) removed from DT lately. All you need is convincing evidence, and it helps if the victim isn't a shitposting spammer.
1125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Pending issues HELP needed! Reward 200$ on: January 14, 2024, 11:43:03 AM
when i look into the history of wallet "A" there is the incoming transaction from the tumbler with 0 confirm, when i search the trans.ID for it it says the fee is:15,323SATS • $6.56 - Wich should not count as low?
It depends on the transaction size. Miners look at relative fees (in sat/vbyte), and the highest ones have priority. Feel free to PM me the txid, but know that it's bad for your privacy.
1126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Pending issues HELP needed! Reward 200$ on: January 14, 2024, 11:07:45 AM
* I can see in my wallet that the btc is incomming but pending confirmations 0
What fee (in sat/vbyte) did they use?

Quote
* I then send the coins from wallet "A" to wallet "B" - its says your coins is now sent even tho transaction from tumbler to wallet "A" is at 0 confirm.
* money never arrive at wallet "B", obviously because the payment from tumbler is still at 0 confirmations to wallet "A"
Which wallet are you using? Electrum for instance would show the transaction, but I think you'd see "-1" confirmations to emphasize it has unconfirmed parents.

Quote
I can see the incomming payment in my wallet "A" history and the outgoing payment for wallet "B" but both have 0 confirmations.
Its now been 3 days.
Your next action depends on details of your current transaction: if your incoming transaction is small (in bytes) and doesn't have unconfirmed parents, you could use CPFP by sending a transaction with higher fee. That's easiest if your wallet A still has a change output.
On the other hand, if your incoming transaction has many unconfirmed parents, it's going to be very expensive to get confirmed. Current fees are quite high. I'd ask for your TXID, but that's bad for your privacy. So look it up yourself, for instance on mempool.space through Tor browser.

1127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if authorities launch a tax for owning bitcoin? on: January 14, 2024, 10:36:42 AM
If I gain enough from Bitcoin that make me rich, I will visit a country where Bitcoin is legal cash it out there, and send it to my country in a legal way. I have a friend who lives in the Middle east and Bitcoin is legal there.
If I'd receive large amounts of money from the Middle East, I'll get a whole bunch of other questions and it's going to be a lot more difficult to explain the origin of the funds.
1128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if authorities launch a tax for owning bitcoin? on: January 14, 2024, 09:41:32 AM
You may laugh after reading my posts. But, Bitcoin is best where it's banned.  Grin Grin
I am not kidding. I live in a 3rd world country and Bitcoin is banned here. So, there is no question of taxing anything related to Bitcoin. However the government does not have any way of knowing if I own Bitcoin or not. I never bought Bitcoin using banks. So, it's connected with any cryptocurrency-related platform. The only possibility to get caught is if they check my devices. But that is unlikely to happen. The authorities won't check person by person to see if anyone holds Bitcoin. If I want to cash out my Bitcoin, send it to someone and get bank transfer through apps and nobody is going to ask why they have transferred the money unless it's a big amount. So, Bangladesh is best for HOLD  Cool
The bolded part is the problem. I know it's the kind of problem you're hoping for, but if Bitcoin goes up enough and you're rich in Bitcoins, it sucks not being able to use it.
1129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if authorities launch a tax for owning bitcoin? on: January 14, 2024, 09:05:08 AM
If you keep on using P2P services in order to buy or sell the coins, then you will be saved from these additional taxes if the government of your nation imposes it.
And if Bitcoin goes to the moon, you won't be able to use it to buy anything big. That's the risk of not paying taxes, you'll end up with black money.
1130  Economy / Reputation / Re: Would you tag these users? on: January 14, 2024, 09:02:33 AM
I think you may have accidentally posted an invalid link :p
It's not accidental: if Shishir99 would have had a custom Trust list, the link would have worked.
1131  Other / Meta / Re: I wonder if the forum would be much better without signatue campaigns on: January 14, 2024, 08:12:04 AM
Of course it works that way. If you create a forum today and get the traffic
That's the thing: I don't expect the traffic to work that way. If users only join to earn money, you'll miss the basis that made Bitcointalk a valuable place to advertise in the first place.
1132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if authorities launch a tax for owning bitcoin? on: January 14, 2024, 08:08:41 AM
You mean a wealth tax? We've had that for years, and this year, it's above 2% for the first time. That means, every year again, you'll pay a percentage of your wealth to taxes.
So to break even, your assets need to increase enough in value to make up for inflation and taxes. That was almost impossible in the past years, which is why there are still ongoing lawsuits against these taxes.

If this happens in your country, you can come to Portugal.

Here, taxes are only paid on gains, relating to buy/sale made in the last year.
In other words, if I sell Bitcoin purchased in 2022, I will not pay tax. But if you sell Bitcoin purchased in 2023, you will already pay tax.

That's why it's the "ideal country" for HOLD.  Cool
Wealth taxes, like most taxes, are only for "the middle class". The poor don't pay them, the rich don't pay them, but anyone in between is not rich enough to move to another country just to avoid taxes.
1133  Economy / Reputation / Re: Would you tag these users? on: January 14, 2024, 07:58:12 AM
If you agree that someone should be negatively tagged for AI posting or spamming, you don't deserve to be in the DT network.
What's the point of complaining instead of voting? See how the Trust system works, and create your own Trust list.
1134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ASK] About Ledger and Transaction Speed Bitcoin on: January 14, 2024, 07:53:06 AM
is it logical if the recording has reached 100 or 200 years, and how big will the bitcoin ledger data be in the future?
In 1956, a 3.75 MB hard drive (literally) weighed a ton. That shows it's pointless to worry about data storage limitations a century from now.
1135  Economy / Reputation / Re: AI Spam Report Reference Thread on: January 14, 2024, 07:12:49 AM
This is definitely a recently-bought account, sucking up to LoyceV
Sucking up didn't work: I reported that topic yesterday, the report is marked Good and the topic locked. I also reported this post, in which he's only rephrasing what I posted here. That report was marked Bad. I Ignored him yesterday.

Allow a person to then edit the PM/file, redacting what they do not want public.  They could use a strikeout or some other code.  Then they repeat the process with you with a different option, or forward the PM to your bot, and you reparse.   You remove all the strikethrough, and compare the checksum.  If it's valid, you can re-save the file without the strikethrough and post the new checksum.
That could work, but it makes it easy to take things out of context. See what's left if you remove the strike through text here.

Quote
You could make a commercial enterprise out of this.  Part 1 module for bitcointalk and Part 2 core redaction code.  It can even be secured further by using a cloud service so everything is alway encrypted even to you and your bot - no trust necessary.  Smiley
I wouldn't know how to create a bot that handled text without being able to read the text.
1138  Economy / Reputation / Re: Would you tag these users? on: January 13, 2024, 02:29:00 PM
you're merely padding your post count for signature reward.
Hey, I've seen this one before:
@borovichok: you're a spammer, and you're paid by the worst Bitcoin-paying spam campaign on Bitcointalk (Stake). You spam 121 posts per week, and nobody cares about them. Your negative feedback may not be correct use of the Trust system, but if it stops Stake from paying you for your posts, it may stop you from spamming shitposts.
And that is exactly what happened. It's less than 3 days since you removed your signature, and your weekly post count is already down from 121 to 79.
1139  Other / Meta / Re: Ask Ninja: Backup up PMs on: January 13, 2024, 10:20:01 AM
I'm probably going to tackle adding native PM-exporting support to SMF sometime this year. ~ and probably look into some kind of authenticity-proving mechanism, too.
If it includes proving something, that would be very, very cool! It could be as simple as a checksum somewhere on the forum, like bitcointalk.org/pm.php?action=10924810. All it needs is to show a checksum. But that won't work once the PM is deleted.
1140  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: disallowing RBF (replace-by-fee) on: January 13, 2024, 10:16:00 AM
Does anyone know if there is any implemented limit to the number of replacements in RBF?
An upper limit means each node would have to keep track of all previous replacements, and not every note may have seen all of them. So it won't work.
