Watch the price hikes once the early buying chances are gone and prices head up from the special .

Yup, also can anyone confirm that Dell here in the US has been working on setting up an eth based BC for their upcoming subscription services?

Microsoft is playing dumb as I spoke with a high level IT guy there last week about it and he said the guys working on an ethereum based BC for the MSStore purchases is being run by monkeys using sticks and stones..  Cheesy

Yeah, tough not to be a fair weather fan in this business.  I trust this pool more than any other.

I agree. No questions about that. I just don't trust the others.  Cheesy
1404  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE servers 178 blocks solved! on: May 08, 2016, 12:06:00 PM
Hi. Any insight why the 2 do not match? I thought bestshare should match whomever has the highest one at the current round?
Probably just an oversight in the code to not reset some users for some reason. Certainly not harmful.
Not sure it's a reset issue as I watched it change yesterday after switching my stuff to this pool. So its not a bestshare from the last solved block.
Ah well if you were not a miner till after the block changed, then it's a very old entry from a previous pool restart potentially.

Huh? Does not compute. Lol

Never had issue since mining here though. When I switch my stuff to point here it usually stays current and the Berkshires correlate when I had the highest 1. Since getting the 96b bestsharefrom while mining on the pool it should have updated the pool stats too, no?

Glad to see the rebound of blocks. I'll be watching it.

To 'not.you', I appreciate the civil response. Mu bad too. I sometimes get off the handle sometimes also with people's replies to my posts when I don't feel it is warranted. So all's good, maybe we all just got a bit short fused due to the bad luck.

Glad it seems to be BAD LUCK and nothing more. I'd hate there to be a real way to basically exclude a pool from solving blocks in any way shape or form. Hopefully it stays that way and KANO seems to be on the up and up on all this coding mumbo jumbo. LOL

I'll keep an eye on the pool luck for a day or two and if things are a-ok , bring my stuff back on. For now they have been rented anyways and are on the solo.ck pool taking a gamble.  Cheesy
1408  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Solar array starting to look good. on: May 08, 2016, 12:50:10 AM
Nice. That's waaay bigger than my solar setup. LOL..

ALthough I'm planning to add another 2 or 3 KW this year if I can on mounts that adjust the angle to the sun.
Have to test how well they work with 6 or 9 panel frames.

I know another guy that uses a home-made hydro generator and he gets about 2300watts constantly from that behind his house.
He said he can hook up another one or two to his stream and not add any flow restrictions. LOL. Not sure of the legalities on that one though.

Lucky SOB.

Nice!
1409  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [35 PH] ** 5x AVALON6 GIVEAWAY ** Kano CKPool (kano.is) [0.9% PPLNS] US,DE,SG on: May 07, 2016, 11:09:24 PM
Kano, it seems at some point this performance becomes questionable.  I have quite a bit of hash power on the pool.  I got burned on block withholding before - have you ruled that out for sure.  Love the pool but going to need some assurance it is not block withholding soon.  Thanks for any information you can provide.
I run a luck check before every payout.
The main issue with that of course is that it's not possible to detect problems smaller than a certain amount.

However, the top 10 hash rates on the pool are obviously OK.

... block ...

Will type more later Smiley
For the top miners, most of them have their own hardware, so would be silly for them to withhold.
Looking at the luck report for the top miners, most of them have Block to BDR ratios above 1.
Any that are below 1 are well within statistical expectation.

BDR - Block Diff Ratio (a name I call it) is the DiffAccepted for the miner as a % of a block, given each share as a % of a block at the time it was submitted, then add them all up. Shares are summarised into shifts, and shifts don't cross a difficulty boundary, so it's not an impossibly large calculation to do.

The Block to BDR ratio is 1 for 100% luck, greater than 1 for > 100% luck and less than 1 for < 100% luck
e.g. 12TM has found 23 Blocks with a BDR of 19.21 - so yep that's REALLY good for the pool ... 23/19.21 = 1.20
GLORYTrading has found 21 Blocks with a BDR of 11.15 ... to be blunt, fucking awesome ... 21/11.15 = 1.88
(The BDR stats currently only go back to Feb last year)

However, there is of course the issue of IP subnets and rentals.
I've detected problems on IP subnets before and they are always in my list I check for each time and block.
I'm making some more changes, over the next few weeks, to deal with detecting problems more easily if people are trying to hide them.
That will, of course, include checking these over past history, which will take some effort to calculate.

There are other checks I do, like how many high diff shares people submit vs their DiffAcc, their value ranges, and I also keep a close eye on any accounts that have any numbers that, although they may be within statistical expectation, are on the high side of bad luck.

So far as I can see, this is indeed some unfortunate bad luck, but I'm still working on ways to analyse it better.

Good to hear. Once things go back to the normal block days, I'm switching back to here, just had to leave to pucker up my cheeks a bit after the past week's losses and the BW / Orphan drama with FUPool.
I wouldn't put it past a large chinese person/org to hoze a successful 'competitor' in spite.. WOuldn't be the first time I saw this..
1410  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Gauging Interest. For GPU Sales (Edited) on: May 07, 2016, 11:06:15 PM
Also remember if your saying that there is no way to save information then how do they lock the GPU to only overclock so much unless you flash the bios? That information is saved on the GPU just saying last thing I'll say about it.

Joe, bud. There is a difference between the BIoS / factory set settings in NVRAM vs the software/driver controlled settings when you make changes to it on your PC. Changes from the PC (Unless you use some wierd software to re-flash the BIoS) do NOT follow the card.
Meaning if you take an overclocked card out, put it into PC2, the settings go back to factory stock.

This is how they ALL work..

If anything though, this works in your favor in regards to getting warranty service down on them, so I'm not sure why the back and forth.  Cool

I agree , quoting Newton's Third Law here is just pretty... Umm.... ... Let's just say 'wrong' and unrelated, to stay civil.  Cheesy

On that note, I had to pull my stuff off here as I was already a lot in the hole. Sorry guyz..  Cry

I stuck it out with the bad luck and long blocks in the past, but almost a week's worth hurt enough to buy a used car, so I had to go (Not a BMW, but still). Cool

If things get back to normal I'll hook back up here.

Good luck you guys (and gals).

So on the one hand you discount the idea that past luck determines future luck and on the other hand you move your miners due to bad luck?  Do you by any chance detect any cognitive dissonance happening in your mind?

You seriously just asked that? Please read my other posts and support for this pool and then make a proper comment will ya?

Unless your losses are in the thousands, no input from the peanut gallery, thank you.

Question.

In the pool stats it gives a best-share of :5,457,984,292
My pool stats show a bestshare of :       96,813,886,812.256165

??
Best share resets after someone finds a block. Bestever doesn't reset.

It's not the bestever.

1416  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Gauging Interest. on: May 07, 2016, 04:44:36 AM
The clocks are the same when you boot back up because the overclocking tool sets them to your defined setting after you log in. If you set clocks using software and then pull the card out and put it in a different computer, the clocks are back to the stock clocks described in the card's BIOS. I'm getting my masters in computer engineering, so I actually do know what I'm talking about. Spend more than 3 minutes researching this topic and maybe, just maybe, you'll have the "Aha!" moment and realize you have no clue what you're talking about.

Yeah this guy is right. Unless you modify the GPU settings in BIOS, after you overclock or whatever you do to the card, remove it and put it in a different PC, the cards uses the factory settings as the overclocks are set in the software on the previous PC and not saved into the GPU.

All my cards I'ever worked with or used are / were like this.

Cool about your store letting you swap with no questions asked. I know the store you're talking about (I think) .
Good luck with your endevour.

Dude that's racist.  And over the top.

But I can see why you think it.

Actually, it's not racist, as I was referring to a country not the asian 'race' as a whole. I love other asian countries and have no problems with those.

I have dealt over the years with Chinese companies and business people as can freely and sternly say what I said before.

If this is a true 'attack' from the biggest Chinese pool to shut up a very effective pool such as KANO.IS is is even worse as they are abusing their power and ruining Bitcoin overall. Even more of a reason to have people stop mining at their low paying junk pool(s).  Cheesy

I can smell how racist this thread is: Anything from China is bad. Chinese miners mine at Chinese pools only because they are behind the GFW. Anyone outside of China mining at Chinese pools are evil. Should you reflect on your attitude?

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

Not much good coming out of china, including Crypo miners/pools/gear..  Roll Eyes

The store is going to let you get away with this?  Huh

After a bunch of returns they will start to give you the stink eye..
1420  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [SELLING] GPUs / CPUs / PSUs / MOBOs / RAMs / SSDs / Risers on: May 05, 2016, 09:05:48 PM
You should have take than balloon offer for 18BTC. That's almost new price for your stuff and the Geforce ones are gonna be a tough sell. Nobody wants those for eth mining.

Good luck with your auction/bidding then..

I'm out.
